eCOMMERCE POSITIONS


Web Content Editor – Newport Beach, CA (full time/exempt)

Job Summary

The position is a key member of the eCommerce and Marketing teams and provides support to Marketing, Online/eCommerce, and Social Media. This position primarily supports the day-to-day creation of all eCommerce marketing content; including; email, main site, mobile and third-party marketing assets. Additionally, the Web Content Editor will have responsibility for managing content planning, coordination and implementation of assets in relation to UrbanDecay.com, Urban Decay's Blog, and other relevant channels.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

Manage copywriting for website, email, and any excess web content needed. Coordinating the calendar, content and development of Urban Decay's blog. Facilitate updates to our "Steal Our Looks" and How-To Sections of UrbanDecay.com. Provide direction to developers and team in best SEO practices for UrbanDecay.com. Assist in web marketing calendar in regards to design, routing and overall content development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the blog content/coordination
  • Manage Steal Our Looks & How-To Sections
  • Assisting with copywriting for email, subject lines and any excess web content needed
  • Ensure best SEO practices are in place
  • Write ad copy creative for agency to ensure brand right
  • Copywriting/content creation for marketing team
  • Assist in web marketing calendar in regards to design, routing…etc
  • Partner with Social Media Manager to promote and distribute content through appropriate channels and optimize against KPIs.
  • Partners with Social Media Marketing Manager to ensure message consistency

Qualification Standards

  • Professional copyediting skills required.

IT POSITIONS


Front End Developer – Newport Beach, CA (full time/exempt)

Job Summary

This position is a key member of the eCommerce and IT teams and provides support to the online sales, marketing and customer service organization. This position primarily supports the day-to-day development and deployment of all eCommerce marketing, including; email, main domain, mobile and third-party marketing assets. Additionally, the Front-End Developer will have the will have the responsibility for set-up and deployment of all tracking technologies, reporting and some SEO/SEM support and execution.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

Coding and implementing all key marketing pages for the Urban Decay website and related marketing assets. Works with Back-End Developer on extensions to the existing eCommerce platform, including mobile devices and other emerging technologies. Responsible for deployment of all tracking pixels and proper reporting of analytics through Google Analytics and the Demandware platform. Will work in conjunction with the team on development of an attribution methodology for Urban Decay. Will also support optimization of our online presence for search engines (SEO). The Front-End Developer will work on SEO initiatives, both in terms of discovery/analysis and execution, and will provide support for marketing programs unique to our online presence (SEM and social).

  • Translate design mockups into HTML/CSS code that is SEO friendly
  • Professional and expert knowledge of server-side scripting a plus
  • Development and integration of dynamic elements onto a web page
  • Provides technical guidance on how to leverage and incorporate typical and leading UI design with the latest technologies
  • Develop and maintain the coding standards for all marketing pages
  • Collaborate with team members and work cross functionally with eCommerce and Marketing

Qualification Standards

  • Strong conceptual thinker who can take ideas and/or mockups and visualize how to execute using the latest technologies with attention to detail for the design and user experience
  • Mastery of HTML/CSS
  • Expertise in cross-browser compatibility issues and thorough understanding of current HTML standards and best practices
  • Understanding of related technologies, including JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5 and XML
  • Web development experience working on social networking websites a plus
  • Ability to communicate in an open environment where constructive criticism is given and received to improve team and projects
  • High motivation and self-direction in setting priorities and meeting deadlines
  • 3 to 5 years of direct-to-consumer online marketing experience
  • Hands-on experience with campaign management and iteration
  • Experience managing complete conversion funnel process from lead generation to revenue creation.
  • Ability to multi-task and succeed in a performance-based environment. Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to prioritize and meet aggressive targets and deadlines.
  • Great interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with both business and technical resources.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and be highly self-motivated.
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years minimum experience hand coding HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX
  • Demandware knowledge is a plus
