Prop Tip

 

Applying eyeliner with precision and keeping it close to the lash line brings definition to the eye.  "You don't want the shape of your eye to get lost in clouds of smoke," says Balsamo.  "It shouldn't look messy."

 

Lighten Up

 

Choosing a base color with a hint of shimmer will help brighten eyes.  Makeup artist Byron Williams advises dabbing a highlighter or pearl shadow on the inner corner of eyes to open them up.
