Q: My makeup always melts when it's hot. How can I get it to stay put?
A: First, create some traction with an oil-free primer. "Apply it just to shine-prone areas like your nose and forehead," says N.Y.C. makeup artist Nick Barose. Next, try a liquid foundation (it's less likely to rub off when you sweat) and a blush with an airy texture that won't get greasy like a cream and won't streak like a powder... To lock makeup in place, N.Y.C. artist Anthea King suggests using a setting spray. "A few spritzes will prevent the colors from fading, " she says. Combat midday shine by touching up with blotting papers instead of reapplying powder, which can make skin look cakey.
