Not what I expected I got this in a primer gift set,,and out of all the primers this one was my least favorite.. It seems to dry out very fast,, I don't know if I just got an old or defective one,,but It does not seem to work at all like its suppossed to. The only somewhat good thing I can say about it is it does seem to "smooth" out your lip surface,but other than that very dissapointed :( November 26, 2011
Best Lip Primer Potion EVER!!!! The Lip Primer Potion is the BEST Primer that I've tried so far, well actually, it's the only Lip Primer I've tried, but it's AMAZING! It goes on smooth,it moistens my lips, and it smells like vanilla. (maybe that's just me since I was baking cookies when I applied this) When I apply Urban Decay's Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Crush or in LoveChild, it makes the color look great and it last all day. Best off all, it doesn't feather. It also works well with Lip Junkie too! Keep up the good work UD! February 18, 2012
Hard To Use This product is hard to get on your lips. It doesn't glide on and takes a little bit of pressure. It was really dry in the tube. Once it warms up on your lips its silky. I think that the lip products would be fine alone without the primer. August 2, 2011

Dries out my lips This product was difficult to apply. I found it to be waxy and did not go on easily. I live in a cool climate and that may have affected it's ease of application. I found that if I warmed it up it did go on a bit easier. Regardless, the product dried my lips out and instead of helping my lip color stay on, it caused it to ball up and rub off (even Urban Decay products). I have dry, sensitive skin and was hoping this product would help protect my lips but it had the opposite effect. March 1, 2013

I Don't Know What Happened. I don't know what happened with my Lip Primer Potion. Maybe the shelf life was overlooked or something at the store I purchased it at, but its dry and doesn't apply smoothly or evenly. I have to push a little heavily just to apply it to my lips and then it is a mess from there on out. Even when I think "it won't be that bad this time" - it unfortunately is. Like I said, maybe mine was just old or something because I usually have utter, complete faith in UD products. March 5, 2013

does the job a lip primer is definitely a must, and i was glad to see UD had one when i decided to try it out. its nice and neutral, unflavored, uses a handy lip-balm-style package...though it is a big solid/hard which can make applying it a bit of a task. a lip brush may help a bit but i've yet to try that. i just found the formula to be a bit too solid and was hoping it would glide on much better, but it does still work well once you get it sufficiently applied. I LOVE IT! I was highly im pressed with the lip primer, i loved how it smelled and felt on my lips. it went on smoothly and blended well with my skin color. it doesnt flake on your lips and it doesnt make your lips feel like there wearing a primer. I also used this primer when i felt my lips are dry and i forgot my chapsticks works great to hydrate lips! the quality is very good has well, the primer last long and you only need a little bit and it goes a long way! A little disappointing I picked up a tube of this, hoping that it would surprise me as much as the eyelid primer did- however that wasn't the case. I found this primer to be too drying to be of much use and didn't notice much more staying power out of my lipstick unfortunately. If dryness isn't a problem for you, I would give this product a try, but it didn't work out for me- if the formula was more moisturizing I would definitely give it another shot! March 5, 2013

Good but not great I think this is due to my expectation, though, not necessarily the product itself. I've tried a few lip primers, and this is by far the best, but it just doesn't hold up to its claims. It makes my lips feel a little gritty, but once I apply lipstick it doesn't still feel gritty. I feel, though, that my lipstick may last a tiny bit longer, but not enough for me to notice. It does keep brighter lipstick from staining my lips. February 12, 2012
So, so.. This lip primer is okay. My favorite thing about it is the packaging. It is easy to apply, just like a lipstick. I like that it cancels out your lip color so the lipstick you are applying is true to color, but honestly a concealer can do that. It helps with the staying power of your lip product a bit, but if you just buy lipstick that has good staying power you won't need this. All in all, I don't think it is work $20. February 10, 2012
I have been hoping for a wonderful product like this! I need my lips to be protected from the sun. Wearing waxy balms made my lip product slide off. So, when I saw this at ULTA, I was so happy! Another MUST _HAVE! again, like the shadow primer, this is yet another MUST HAVE from Urban regardless of what brands you're using. This stuff tastes pretty nice, has SPF, softens and conditions your pucker all while holding whatever gloss (yes i said gloss) or lipstick in place. I'm not sure it's needed... I'm not sure I'm in love with this product. It makes my lips dry, and I don't feel like it does that much really. I don't see my lipstick last longer really. I like that it has SPF 15 to protect them and it tends to keep lipstick in one spot and not bleeding. But, it wasn't a must-have for me. Maybe I got a bad batch, but I'm not planning on repurchasing. Va-Va-Voom Lips! I use this everyday I apply any tone of red lipstick, otherwise it tends to come off easily (lipstick). the primer gives it that extra holding power to stain my lips for that gorgeous pin-up look I strive for. Easy to use, just slap it on before applying lipstick. I have found that it works best when a chap-stick is also used in conjunction with it. March 5, 2013
Just not as smooth as I'd hoped I love everything else I've ever used from UD, but this lip primer fell below my expectations. The part that touches your lips tends to get really grainy, or clumpy, so much so that you basically have to wipe it off to get the clumps out. Just too much wasted product that way. Would totally recommend other UD primers, but not this one, unfortunately. March 6, 2013
Dried my lips out! I have not experienced problems with any of Urban Decay's lip products until this one. For whatever reason this product dries my lips out so bad that they end up peeling and having pieces of skin come off. I was really bummed when I discovered this because all of the reviews for the product seemed really good, so just beware! March 5, 2013
Keeps lips looking luscious I love using this lip primer with not only UD lipstick (which lasts well on its own), but also with cheaper brands to help them stay on longer. There is definitely a noticeable color difference when you use primer compared to when you just put the lipstick on bare lips because the primer makes the lipstick much brighter. February 1, 2012
A nice lip primer. I like this product quite a bit. I have a hard time keeping lipstick/gloss on my lips, and this definitely helps. I find that this product + a regular (not long-wearing) lip color lasts fairly well, but not as well as some long-wearing lip colors do on their own. It does make lipstick go on smoothly and evenly. Lasting lips with UD's perfect primer potion! I've tried a lot of different lip primers. And this is my favorite one. Honestly, the first time I tried it I wanted to see how it works. So without any kind of lip scrub, balm, chap stick, etc. I put it on and applied my liner, lipstick, and a gloss on top. I let it dry and I went to work, appointments, and then even ate with it on and it still kept my color and even my gloss hours later. It does go on dry because if you've tried any lip primer that works it feels like that. But it smoothed out my lips without anything being applied before hand and I was good to go! My lipstick was moisturizing, and the gloss obviously was too. And without a good primer, my gloss usually will come off and loose it's color after a little while and like I said hours later they still looked shiny and kept that moisture from my lipstick and gloss! So I would definitely reccomend this primer, you'll luv it and it's the only one I've tried that actually works and keeps working throughout the day! :) February 28, 2012
Amazing its amazing how long your lip color will last with this on! my lip color usually stays on for about 3 or 4 hours, but this basically doubles its wear! it keeps products from settling in your lip lines and keeps them looking smooth. my only complaint is that it can be drying if you use to much. Great Product A friend suggested this product to me when I complained about having to constantly reapply my lipstick at work. I use this everyday now and can work a 12 hour shift with MAYBE touching up once. This is after eating breakfast, lunch, and drinking from a water bottle all day. Love this stuff! March 7, 2013
