UD Does It Again I'm not a lipstick person, I usually just throw on some gloss and call it good. I wanted to do something different for my Prom this year, and decided to go with a bright red. Knowing how amazing UD's eye primer was, I tried this to avoid having any smearing or fading on my lips, and so that I wouldn't have to re-apply it all night. This is magic. My lipstick stayed bright vibrant red all night, through dinner and dancing, and looked as good in my pictures as it did when I first put it on hours before. The best part was that it didn't dry my lips out, or let my lipstick settle into any lines on my lips. Since I had white pillows I took it off to avoid stains, so I don't know how long it would last, but I'm willing to bet it would last as long as any UD primer! August 10, 2011
Not so much por moi. UD has done good work with eyeshadow primer. I think at some point, someone went a little primer crazy with this the others! I was underwhelmed by the complexion primers (which are mostly dimethicone, which can be purchased much more cheaply on its own) and similarly disappointed by this one. My main lip issues are feathering and peeling. I don’t know how well this performs for lip gloss because I only used it with lipsticks, but my lips still did everything they do without a primer. I can say it helped things go on smoothly and it conditioned my lips, but I wouldn’t agree that it made color truer or made it last longer. I would just skip this one! March 6, 2013
Beginners dream. I love this product was the first of my primers I purchased from the primers kit that I ran out of because I use it a lot. I love the feel it is not overly thick it creates a good base for all lip products I use, makes them last longer throughout the day. It smells really good, not pungent or overwhelming smell. It softens your lips and keeps them pretty hydrated. It is not super soft or creamy when you first rub it on your lip so you have to rub it a few times against your lips when you first open it. It has a beautiful metal like package I think is really cool. Well thought out product. Allows me to achieve many looks with ease. February 21, 2012
this product has this 40 yr old wearing lipstick every day! I never really wore lipstick because it's just so difficult for me to keep on all day. Add to that, a case of perpetual dry lips and you end up with a chapstick-only kind of girl. I bought a gorgeous RED lipstick for the holidays and decided to try UD lip primer with it. At first, I was SO doubtful because it felt so dry going on. But I gave it my all and wore it all day the first day with my glamorous red lipstick. Honestly, I dunno how this stuff works. It just WORKS! It kept that super red very red and true ALL day long, as well as keeping my typically super chapped lips...well, NOT chapped! Overnight, I've become a BIG FAN of Urban Decay! Every girls necessity Great primers are hard to come across and when you find one that works, you stick with it forever.... Not only does the primer potion for the eyes work incredible, but so does this perfection !!!! Kissable power! Some of my favorite 'out-there' colored lipsticks don't quite stay as much as I'd like. They just seem to smudge that little bit more. However with the Urban Decay Lip Primer, feathering is a thing of the past, my lipsticks instantly last at least double the normal amount of time and you just swipe it on like any chapstick. Must Have for Lip Product Fans This Lip Primer is a staple in my make-up arsenal. I first discovered this product when I was looking for ways to make my lip products last longer. I read a great review of UD Lip Primer & ordered the box of potions. WOW. What a difference this has made! I notice my lip products applying more evenly, the color richer and the staying power increased. Since I started using this product last year I don't think I could go without it. Not the smoothest of bases I was not impressed with the lip primer potion. It goes on very hard and chalky feeling. The waxy base it leaves is not how I like my lips to feel. It did make the lipstick stand out more and may be good for people who have really pigmented lips. I would have liked it better if it went on a little smoother. July 26, 2011
perfect for those long nights i love primers, when i work hard on my makeup i want it to stay. This product is something i honestly didnt think would make a difference, but OMG my lipstick has never stayed on till my night was over. I would always have to reapply, using up all of my favorite lipshade. This saves you the time of having to run to the nearest bathroom and the money of having to buy more lipstick! July 26, 2011
Lip Primer Potion I use this on my lips before I use any other lip product, whether I am wearing just gloss or lip stick. It makes my lip liner glide on, my lip stick applies smoothly, and it prevents my lip color from bleeding as well as smearing. I like how the finish makes my lips look so smooth, and my lip products really do last a lot longer when I use this. I am on my second tube, and I don't have to use a lot of product to get the effect I want. I never saw the need to use a lip primer until I discovered this one, and I have no interest in trying any other one out because I believe this is a perfect fit for me. March 6, 2013
Not bad I'm still trying to decide how I feel about this lip primer. I felt like if my lips were even the least bit rough before I put it on that it sort of magnified that affect, which made my lips flaky and kinda gross. However, once I exfoliated my lips (which I usually do about once a week, but now am doing more often for this product), it goes on much smoother. As far as whether or not it has staying power, I felt like it DID amplify the time the color stayed on (and I tried it with several colors and types, from lipsticks to glosses), but it won't "fix" other issues, such as color coming off on your drink or if you happen to chew/bite/lick your lips at any time. However, if you are low maintenance and tend to leave your lips alone all day, then this is probably perfect for you. Verdict is still kind of out on this one, but I'll be using it for sure. Actually does make lipstick last longer. I wasn't sure if lip primer was really "necessary," since I generally wear the stay-all-day kind of lipstick, but when I bought a few of the UD lipsticks on sale, I decided to give this a try. It actually does make the more moisturizing type lipsticks stay on better - I don't have to reapply till after lunch (instead of after I finish my coffee). The best stuff on earth !! I tend to get very chapped lips. Once I applied this primer, not only did my lipstick stay on for hours, but my chapped lips healed overnight. My new favorite! I've used other brands of lip primer in the past and have been pretty unhappy. I was skeptical that this product would be different, but I absolutely love it! It glides on smoothly, unlike some others that you literally have to color on, and it made my am lipstick application last all day without feathering or fading. Staying POWER. I love this. I wear lip glosses and this stuff makes it stick. Not sticky. The gloss stays for HOURS. And since my lips tend to get dry I've noticed they don't when I use this. They're smoother and less flaky. It's also weightless. I've read some people complain that it feels waxy, but once I swipe it on, it melts right into my lips. Disappointed I had never used a primer before and starting using the UD eyeshadow primer and fell in love. After having such great results with the eyeshadow primer I was excited to get the lip primer, but I'm so disappointed. The lip primer did not go on smoothly or help my gloss/lipstick stay any longer. I found it hard to apply as it goes on chalky and not smooth at all. It made my lipstick uneven, and I didn't notice that it helped the lipstick to stay on any longer. It also made my lips very dry, which is not usually a problem I experience. Since when is a lip primer not just a glorified chapstick? NOW. I put this on then apply my lipstick and It STAYS on 10 times longer then usual. My lips looks smoother too. Great to use with those lipstick brands that are beautiful but have zero staying power. July 27, 2011
Good for on the go. If you're like me and you never have time to quite finish your makeup before leaving the house, this stuff is your best friend. Liplining can take too much concentration and a mirror, while putting this on, then putting on your lipstick doesn't require a mirror and only about 5 seconds. As far as prevention of moving lipstick and the like, well, let's just say I haven't really sat and tried to look that it's working correctly, but it must do its job, as I haven't noticed any feathering/smudging/running of lipstick. It fills in cracks and makes your lips look nice, so I will give it that, you could just wear it under a sheer lipgloss and you'd look awesome. The only downsides to this stuff is that it's a bit spendy, and then it's sort of dry, so you have to warm it up with your lips before it will spread nicely. However, neither of these things are a huge enough deal that I will quit using it. Overall, I would recommend this product. It's awesome. July 26, 2011
Makes my lips look terrible For some reason, no matter how well moisturized my lips are, this instantly makes my lips look dry and chapped. My lipstick over it becomes flaky and a funky color. March 1, 2012

Can't live without it! I wear red lipstick every day and I couldn't live without my lip primer under my lip pencil and lipstick. People are always asking me how I get my lipstick to stay so well and look so polished. I am sensitive to sunscreens so the little bit in here can make my lips flake a bit, but nothing noticible to anyone other than me. August 24, 2011
Just Okay Ideally wants to love this product but it is pretty dry and gritty making it difficult to apply with a brush. It does help lipstick stay a little longer but I have also discovered that it is not compatible with all lipstick brands as sometimes it makes certain lipsticks ball up. February 27, 2012
Perfection in a Tube I had never thought a lip primer was needed.. well, until after I used my eyeshadow primer. I looked at the stores and found UD's primer in a Sephora. I new I had to try it. After a couple uses my lips are smoother, more moisturized, and any lipstick I use stays on longer and feels even better. I love this small yet amazing product, it is worth it's weigh in gold. I like it but I'm not entirely sure... My lipstick stays in place for a bit longer than without, though if I eat it's all over. The one thing i really DON'T like is that I have dry lips as it is (their condition has been pretty good as of late), but when I put the primer on initially, they feel dryer and clumped up. The product does not go on smoothly for me. As much as I adore the eyeshadow and foundation primer, I'm not sure I would re-buy this one. September 30, 2011

Necessity for any lipstick-lover! This product is one of my favorites from Urban Decay. I had always found it troublesome to wear lipstick because it would soak into my lips and you could see the lipstick set into the lines on my lips. I also had trouble with dry skin on my lips showing to much when I put on lipstick. But putting this primer on before my lipstick prevents all of that. It feels like there's a smooth silky layer between my lips and the lipstick that makes it last so much longer and look natural and moisturized. I can not wear lipstick if I don't have this primer! Make any choice lip product have staying power! I was looking for a good lip primer and this one came highly recommended. Been using it for years now. I find that it works great with any lip product - stains, lipstick, gloss, even lip plumper products! Def lasts a long time, which is fantastic, because then you don't have to worry about constantly reappliying lip products. Just a swipe on each lip, apply desired products, and you are good to go! Good, but not worth the money. A lot of reviews I read said how drying this product was. I did not find it particularly drying. I did notice, however, that a collection of product builds up on the stick and makes a hard "gritty" cluster that comes off on your lips. =\ So you have to stop and clean that up before applying color. I do use this as my regular lip primer but will probably check out an other brand. Overall, I do not think this is worth the $20 I spent on it. Even though the packaging is darling. January 8, 2012
