this stuff is amazing! My skin color is constantly changing (tan v lack of tan) so I need something that works with any skin tone and this really does the trick. I tan really really really easily and I hate constantly having to try and find something that may or may not match my skin tone from day to day and with this I dont have to worry about it its works on the lightest of light skin all the way to when I am super dark brown so for me this is the perfect product! It gives an amazing finish and wears all day! The only thing I am not crazy about is the applicator I am a use once and toss kinda girl and this is a you only get one for the whole bottle.... Good stuff. I got a sample of this.. Or a travel size or something! Well, that lasted a very long time. This was a really good transparent finishing powder. Created a nice matte effect! It’s very comparable to other such finishing powders. (Meaning, it’s not superior. But also not inferior!) It’s a matter of preference. I did find this very softening (must be the dimethicone). The packaging doesn’t really bother me. I understand portability was a consideration when deciding, but I use ALL loose powder by taking the lid off, dumping some in the lid, dipping my brush in, and pouring the excess back in afterwards, so the packaging didn’t give me any grief. The Perfect Powder I love this finishing powder and they way it makes my skin feel. This is the best finishing powder I have ever used. It doesn't add color, goes on evenly and doesn't take much at all to do the job. I don't know why the powder puff is even there, I wish they would provide that separately or just leave it off. I, like many others, modified the jar and removed the puff. The smell is a little different but I don't notice it after a few seconds. Powder provides a smooth finish and even further diminished imperfections. I don't have to reapply anything during the day because it just stays. February 25, 2012
Powder love from a powder hater! I don't usually wear powder because I'm prone to clogged pores and breakouts, plus since I'm pushing 40 it tends to settle into the wrinkles and make me look older. Not Razor Sharp though! It's super sheer and lightweight. It never looks like powder, it just looks like beautiful skin! I admit I don't wear it every day, but wouldn't go without it for special occasions. It also helps to set my lipstick if I need a long-wearing look, though I have to put it onto a tissue so I don't mess up the applicator. The applicator is perfect for travel, never spills! July 1, 2011
Love This Stuff I received the travel size jar as part of the Urban Bride set. It took me a while to figure out that the applicator does not come off, and I didn't really have any idea what the makeup was even used for. I finally just tried applying it to my 100% makeup free face. I then touched my face and couldn't believe the silky feel!! I now keep the jar in my purse and use if for touchups throughout the day. My face stays perfectly shine free and silky. The applicator sponge is actually convenient in my purse, especially with the lock feature. After I click it to the on position, I just tap it a couple spots on my face the smooth in. It always blends in perfectly. This has eliminated carrying a compact in my purse. I plan to buy the full size when the travel jar runs out. November 23, 2011
Ok I guess This is the first time I've ever used anything from Urban Decay and I've heard so many good things about this brand that i was more than excited to try this product. It looks awesome on the package and it sounds good online too. But let me tell you, I could not figure out how to use the thing. I had to search on Google because I didn't understand what I was supposed to do to get it on my face, then I found this blog that she actually took the top part off and used her own brush to apply. So then I tried this and voilĂ  it does what it says. I took a picture and it reflected the light and you couldn't see my "imperfections". It's a good product but they should make it much more easier to use. October 8, 2011
Keeps me matte all day I love this powder because it keeps me looking fresh all day. I have really oily skin, so I also wear the urban decay surreal skin powder foundation underneath it. It also makes my skin look really nice. I don't use the sponge applicator that comes with it, I just screw it off and apply the powder with a brush. The reason I only gave it four stars is because I was previously using the makeup forever powder before & it makes my skin look more flawless than the urban decay product(although the ud one is easier to blend). I switched to urban decay because they are cruelty free and parabeen free March 31, 2012
a dream finish! razor shap is amazing for an airbrushed look! I fell in LOVE with this product on contact. It has such a creamy hydrated feel, even though it's a powder. Unexpected, but totally wonderfu! I use allUD comsetics and this was my most recent purchase, and I what a beautiful flawless finish! I am not sure if I am the only one struggling with the cap, not sure how "easy" it should come out, I always have to take the cap off to put the powder on the puff part. Any way you slice it love and would totally recommend! March 4, 2012
Disapointed :( Hi Urban Decay, I'm an avid fan of your products but I have been more than a little bit disapointed by a recent purchase. After lusting after it for a while I finally bought the Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder from Debenhams Cardiff yesterday. I was soo excited to try it out and I really love the powder but unfortuantely I will not be buying it again. The packaging is absolutely t...errible and really disapointing! I found that the attached sponge was absolutely useless at distributing the powder evenly and I ended up with a really patchy complexion. I tried and tried to get the powder out and nothing - and then on my next go a massive amount comes out! I then proceeded to remove the sponge and used a powder brush of my own and the difference was incredible. It is such a lovely powder which produces flawless-looking skin, however, the packaging is a real disapointment. As I removed the sponge the powder can now escape into the lid which makes a bit of a mess so I have been forced to buy a new container from Mac, which has made a world of difference. It's also a real shame because I love the actual design on the packaging and I have always loved the beautiful designs you put on your packaging and I no longer have that to appreciate. Not to mention that the attached sponge is also very unheginic as it is difficult to clean! I know that this message will probably not make a real impact to the company, however, I know I am not alone in my thoughts as I have read many reviews on beauty blogs and reviews on your own website from customers who hate the packaging. As much as I adore the actual powder I will not buy another tub due to the awkward packaging and it has also put me off trying your Mineral powder with the similar packaging and I was really looking forward to giving it a try. I will be doing a review of the product on my blog and was wondering whether you would possibly share your thoughts on the choice of packaging? I know this has been a very negative message but I do love Urban Decay products and I adored the Urbanglow highlighter and the Urbanbrow shape/setting gel which I also bought on the same day. I would recommend those products to everyone I know! I also had great service from the make-up consultant there. Thanks for taking the time to read this feedback - sorry it's an essay haha!x September 17, 2011
In love, almost I love this product. It feels so light and silky, and I love the finish it gives me over my foundation. Like everyone else, my biggest complaint is the packaging. I prefer to carry my powder with me for touch ups, especially in the warmer months, and this is a little big to carry around (at least when compared to a compact). I'm not a fan of the "puff" at all. I have very acne prone skin, and do not like to constantly reuse something on my face that isn't easily cleaned. So, like others, I've opened up the top to access the powder using a brush, and apply it that way. But I've found that once doing that, the top unscrews pretty easily, and it makes me nervous carrying it, because I worry that it's going to open in my makeup bag. I'll continue to buy this, but sincerely hope that the rethink the packaging soon. June 16, 2013
Awesome Powder, Awful Packaging I LOVE this powder, it works just like it describes, and adds a lovely finish. I use mine over my naked liquid foundation. The only downside is the package, which is horrid. This is THE WORST makeup container I have ever encountered, and I have really hated some powdered makeup containers. The puff that is on the end is useless, so I have to take the lid off, and as someone else said the super fine texture makes it a huge pain to tap any excess off your brush. I may actually buy a different container for this,if I can find something. So worth buying, the fine powder should go a long way which makes the price seem a little less steep, but the container needs redesigning. January 14, 2013
You can always use a brush... I love razor sharp! I have recently switched from bare essentials mineral veil, to this and I will never go back!! This finishing powder is silky smooth, it feels great on and gives your skin a flawless look!! I too do not like the sponge applicator, so I just open it up put a little in the top and use a large fluffy face brush. A little goes a long way with this product. I love it and recommend it to my friends. :) November 15, 2011
In defense of the applicator I adore this product. I got it as part of the Urban Bride kit and actually wasn't even very interested in it at first. Then, my skin took a turn for the worse and I had to start wearing liquid foundation to cover up some acne. Usually, I hate putting powder over foundation because I find that it dries the product out to the point that I get cracks in my smile lines/around my eyes. After a few weeks of powder frustration, I remembered that I had this product, tried it and instantly fell in love. It wears like a dream over foundation and doesn't feel heavy or crack my foundation and extends the wear time by a couple hours. I also wanted to specifically mention the applicator. I actually love it. I find that the powder is so finely milled that it comes through the puff easily and that method really helps me to press the powder into my skin (I use a tapping technique) without the danger of any spills or bother of extra blending/buffing time. A replacement pad might be nice for cleaning purposes, but even without, I still think it's perfect. November 1, 2011
Great product, terrible applicator Within 30 seconds, I ripped off the sponge. Part of the reason I used a finishing powder is to lightly dust across my foundation (Surreal Skin tinted moisturizer), not drag the applicator across my face like the pressed powder compacts of 1997. I can't travel with the product now, because it'll spill everywhere (since the sponge is missing) but at home I simply tap a little into the cap (a la mineral foundation style) and swirl a brush around in the cap and apply. The powder is awesome. I stay matte all day. But man, ditch that sponge thing! October 5, 2011
I love the product but not the packaging I have oily/dry combination skin and this product helps me look beautiful. It feels light on my skin, really helps to even out my complexion. It gives my skin a smooth finish and I love this feeling. However the packaging is awful. I have to open it to apply it with my brush, because when I try to apply it with a puff I end up wanting to sneeze, and some of the product end up on my hair. And if I open it, then it is very easy to loose half of your product because the there is nothing to keep it in the jar. I love the product because I just love how it makes me feel, but i do not like the packaging. March 7, 2013
Like a lot of other reviewers... I loathe the sponge. Seriously, I should not have to pound make up against my hand just to get it to dispense. I would use this product quite a bit more if it weren't such a pain. My other gripe with this applicator is that it gets grimy quickly, and I really don't care for the idea of running or pressing something dirty against my face. You also can't share this product with anyone since you can't clean it, so using it commercially as a make up artist is not going to happen. There is no way to clean the sponge without ruining the product, which puts it in the epic fail category. The product its' self is great, I used it over Surreal Skin Cream to Powder foundation in Fate, and I really wasn't expecting to see a difference, but it almost made my freckles disappear! Gives an airbrush effect without paying through the nose for it! I'm going to recommend this product, because as a photographer, the fewer retouches I have to do, the better. It saves me time, and gets the shots to the client quicker, everybody wins! November 12, 2011
Best Setting Powder! I use this to set my foundation and it works great! I live in a very hot, humid climate and makeup meltdowns are almost unavoidable sometimes. This stuff sets liquids and creams BEAUTIFULLY. Doesn't leave you looking cakey or ashy, and leaves a soft matte finish. And the packaging is awesome because it's totally portable. No more worrying about traveling and having setting powder end up all over your makeup! April 18, 2012
Overall a fabulous finishing powder!! This finishing powder is sheer with just a hint of color. It's so fine and light, it evens out my complexion and covers up imperfections like blemishes way better than any other powder I've tried. It prevents shine and keeps your beautiful and helps make-up last! The only thing that I don't like is the applicator, really not a fan of it and it makes the application of this product kinda hard. But using a brush evens it out, so definitely despite that I really love this powder and would definitely reccomend it!!! February 22, 2012
Great product, awful packaging I got the sample size in Urban Bride, which was a great way to try it out. The product itself is great - feels nice and light, with excellent coverage without creating an overdone, pasty look. The packaging though...after experimentation and some online searching, I finally tore the applicator off and just use a brush. I do like the product, but when the time comes, I'll have a very hard time shelling out $30 for something I need to mangle the packaging just to use (and then gets all over should it tip over.) November 3, 2011
Great product, poor packaging This product is excellent, makes your skin silky soft. However, my first use has been a disaster. Tried to use the puff, but half the powder kept pouring out the side as I patted it on; on to my face, clothes and counter. Then, I tried opening the container to brush it on instead and ended up losing it when the jar tipped over and the powder fell in the sink and down the drain! Ended up with about one third left in the container, which I proceeded very carefully to use up. Will I replace it? Doubtful, $31 was a lot to lose down the drain. If package is improved, I would definitely consider buying again. It's a shame, as I really liked the way it just blended naturally on my face. (As a rule, I usually don't use any kind of sponge applicators on my face, as they harbor bacteria.) September 21, 2012
Awful packaging but good product I hate the packaging of this item. The sponge on top of the applicator makes it really hard to evenly distribute the powder on my face. If I use it, I can't blend the color enough to avoid looking too pale. I've started using this powder with a brush and it works so much better. The powder itself is good. Works like a charm to keep skin matte and prevents oily-looking skin but you must take care to ensure it is completely blended in. Perhaps having a variety of colors would help this issue. August 24, 2011
Annoying application I got this wanting to try something besides the MUFE HiDef Powder. This one is not as white like the MUFE one but they both have similar textures (although this one isn't as "fluffy cornstarch" feeling). I like how the MUFE powder looks on my face over the UD powder. The UD powder doesn't give me that flawless and finished look that the MUFE one does. And I don't like the application of this one as much. I like the idea of being able to press it on my face but it seems to get kind of gross looking and then I need to use a brush anyway to blend it in without smudging my makeup. If I don't do that then I can see the white marks on my face from where I pressed the powder on. The packaging isn't very convenient for sticking a brush in either so you are kind of forced to use the white sponge thing unless you want to make a mess...By no means is it a BAD product, I would just not buy this again based on the price and the application. February 29, 2012
Not my favorite It took me forever to apply this is a way I was half way impressed with, the little poof thing would just smack against my face and you could see powder flying everywhere. I started carrying it around in my bag for touch ups and it doesn't stay closed, bad idea my purse was peppered on the inside with finishing powder! Not my favorite Urban Decay product. January 31, 2012
Pretty good finishing powder Basically, this product is alright. The powder itself is pretty great, however the container is just completely unnecessary. Aside from the fact that the applicator is not how I would apply this powder, I feel like it wastes the product when it gets stuck in the top. I apply the powder by patting it on with a powder puff I purchased separately. It is a pretty good finishing powder. I feel like it perfects my skin just that extra bit. It zaps shine and seals my foundation, keeping my makeup fresh all day! Plus it's smooth and feels good just like it says in the description(: March 11, 2013
Love the product, not the sponge applicator. I got this in the Urban Bride, because it was on sale :p The sponge applicator definitely needs to go. I ripped mine out and use a powder brush instead to dust it on my face. The only problem with that is that the powder gets everywhere when I open the container, since there is just a big hole where the sponge used to be. I put most of the powder into my old bare minerals container, so it is not as messy :] The product is wonderful though, it soaks up all oils and leaves me matte. September 13, 2011
I love everything about this product, except the applicator This powder is so beautiful!! It's light and creates a nice soft look over your foundation. I am not the biggest fan of the puff on top. It should be removable and hidden under the cap. Since it's supposed to go over foundation, the puff will get dirty and clogged over time. Also how are you expected to get it on evenly when you can't exactly see how much product is being dispensed? I ripped the puff off myself. But otherwise, beautiful product, blends all makeup together nicely. February 27, 2012
Fantastic! I don't wear base, but I have very oily skin. I like to use a light powder to get rid of the oil and shine. I just tried this for the first time a few days ago, and it is perfect! It's very light and airy. It feels very soft and light on my skin, and it makes my pores look close to invisible. I will never use anything else! July 6, 2011
Does wonders! I saw the review for this and thought I would give it a try. When I put it on it seem like nothing was there. Only when I saw a picture of myself from a wedding did I see the difference. My face was not shiny and funny looking as it normaly was with makeup. I was so happy with the results! I use it under my foundation instead of over it. I also use my foudation brush instead of the one given. I couldn't see myself using that large thing with something so fine. Trust me, this is something you should try. Just be careful! Tap before applying, you will lost it if you don't October 27, 2012
Mixed feelings Recommend? Yes i would but maybe would be more accurate. I had to look up how to use this product because the applicator was a mystery when the box gave no further instruction. All in all i ended up pulling off the sponge applicator in order to use my own brushes. This ends up wasting product and makes you find your own brush in order to use. Everytime I use this I put a little into the lid it came with, being frugal because a little goes a long way, I try to put the rest back in and a lot sticks to the lid. I use the rest because i hate wasting it but i feel if there were a better applicator this would not happen. In the coverage end it does a decent job but not a total airbrush feel. It won't hide blemishes without foundation naturally. I feel if this had the right brush/applicator plus foundation first it would work admirably. February 8, 2012
CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously changed my life. That may sound silly but it's true. My skintone is horribly uneven and since I began wearing makeup over I've been searching for something that would help. This over the Surreal Skin foundation makes me look so flawless it's almost unbelievable. It's a little difficult to figure out the best way to apply it because the applicator it comes with is a little confusing but once you get it down it's perfect. Best product out there.
I do like the product, but when the time comes, I'll have a very hard time shelling out $30 for something I need to mangle the packaging just to use (and then gets all over should it tip over.) Great product, poor packaging This product is excellent, makes your skin silky soft.
