Not love at first swipe BUT... When I first got this brush with my Naked palette I had a really hard time with it. It just doesn't seem to pack on the color as well as other brushes I've tried so it ended up sitting for quite a while. Then I discovered that the dense and sleek nature of the bristles make it a PERFECT alternative to a pencil brush. I find that using the Good Karma brush I get a smaller and more tight line on my lower lash. When using a pencil brush the line tends to go on thicker and I have to go back with a q-tip to remove the excess shadow. So now I use Good Karma soley for the lower lash line and am pleased with the results every time. In fact, now it is my pencil brush that I hardly ever use! February 5, 2012
Awful brush for dry shadow The quality of this brush is great but it doesn't do what it is marketed for. It comes with the Naked palette and it does not pick up color at all. I'm honestly glad I didn't pay for it. I had to dip and dip and ended up wasting color to no avail. I think this brush works better for creams and so I use it for concealer and its great. I think Urban Decay should rename it, because its great as concealer but horrible for dry shadow. August 3, 2011
Unworkable I rarely use this brush, instead sticking to sponge-tip applicators and brushes by other brands. The bristles are too dense, making it hard to grab enough product per swipe, and too stiff, making it hard to blend. I appreciate that the brush is vegan, and since non-animal hair brushes are on the hard to find side, I was extra disappointed with this UD brush. The search for ideal makeup application tools continues. July 29, 2011
Bad Karma Ladies, this brush is pretty useless when it comes to dry powder shadow application. The fibers are very synthetic feeling and stiff as the description suggests. The overall shape is flat and thin so it looks more similar to a concealer brush then to any shader brush I've seen. It is my guess that it is intended to pack on color however, the brush does not pick up dry color well. The fibers seem to almost repel the shadow and I found myself using so much eyeshadow when usually with my UD shadows all I have to do it gently tap the tip of a brush into the color. The brush isn't a total waste though the packaging is really pretty and of good quality and it works well with cream and damp shadows. It would also work pretty well as a concealer brush just based on the shape and the texture of the fibers. Also the fibers tend to stain. I've washed this brush many times with MAC deep brush cleanser and my fibers are still stained. I would not recommend this Brush for it's intended purpose and I think for $26.00, you can buy something of much better quality. July 27, 2011
Too hard to use This is a ok brush. It does not pick up the powder eyeshadows very well, and really hard to wash it! I never tried it with cream eyeshadows but I would assume it works better with cream eyeshadows! July 30, 2011
Good brush, great quality. I have used this brush for multiple things: applying concealer, foundation, and eyeshadow. It doesn't pack on a lot of shadow, but it is good for getting just enough concealer and foundation in the natural crevices of the face. The bristles do seem kind of flimsy, but I've noticed it's much easier to apply shadow with if I'm pressing the shadow on my lid, as opposed to "gliding" the shadow over the eyelid. Overall, it's a good brush and if it's not suitable to your liking as an eyeshadow brush, it seems to be versatile in applying concealer and foundation. One thing I did not like about this brush was the handle shaft seemed heavy and if I did not hold it nearly center, it was almost difficult to control. January 31, 2012
This brush is a great brush but is best used as a concealer brush or with other creams. This is the first good karma brush I have ever received and I am pretty impressed. I used this with my concealer and it applied it very well to my dark circles . I would not recommend using this brush for powders because it is a bit slippery but I would highly recommend using this with cream products because it distributes them evenly. September 10, 2011
Not My Favorite Brush I got this brush with the original Naked Palette and was not exactly thrilled with it. It is a nice quality brush (something I have grown to expect from Urban Decay) and it doesn't shed, but I don't love the way it applies color. It tends to go on much sheerer than if I use a different brush or my finger. I don't dislike this brush, but I'm not sure that I would recommend buying it on its own, because it is slightly more pricey than some other brushes I own. February 6, 2012
Unimpressed I got this brush with my UD Naked Palette 1, and was super excited to try such a high quality brush. Unfortunately, I didn't care for it. Pros: Soft, but dense High quality (made well, anyway) Looks pretty Cons: Difficult to use Difficult to clean Not good for applying shadow, even for packing it on the lid I may try to use this in the future for concealer or maybe applying glitter, but I have way cheaper brushes that I would choose over this anyday. April 16, 2012
My favorite brush!!! I have bought MAC brushes, Elf brushes, Too Faced brushes, and more, but nothing compares. I got one of these babies in my Naked palette and it's my favorite! I thought I would stick to my MAC brushes, but every morning I found myself reaching for this brush. It's so easy not only to use, but to clean. It's so soft, picks up color and packs on color fantastically. Overall, this is a fantastic brush and once I destroy it from over use (which will take quite a while... It's so hardy and not a single hair has fallen out!!!) I'll come right back to buy another one. February 1, 2012
Ehhhh. . . . I feel like the idea of all of UD's brushes is amazing but when you actually put them in practice. . . they kind of fall short. This brush is very soft and the bristles are very tightly packed but, it doesn't pick up nearly enough product. I feel like when I use this I need to really drag my brush hard and multiple times to get enough product on the brush for it to actually show up on my eyes. I wanted to love this but, I can't say that I do. February 1, 2012
I'm absolutely in love with this brush!!!! I can't even tell you how much I love this brush! It feels so soft and applies my eyeshadow PERFECTLY! I get gorgeous color and it makes it easy with it's shape it achieve multidimensional color and gives your eye a gradient with ease. It's awesome. Such a great deal and every shadow brush I've ever had sheds at some point in some way shape or form and this one has never! It keeps it's shape even after washing too! Totally worth it and an amazing find. So if you want an awesome fantabulous brush that you can almost paint your shadow on... this is it!!! :) February 28, 2012
Inflexible but good for other purposes We all know this is the brush often packed in with UD sets, and at this point I've accumulated about 3 of them. The quality of the bristles are pretty nice, and I like that it has a strong handle. That aside, the brush for me is far too flat for applying eyeshadow product, and though it seems when you initially pick up color that you'll be packing a lot down on your lid, the majority seems to stay on the brush instead. Personally I also like my shadow brushes to have a slight poof/flexibility that not only pack shadow on the lid, but I can blend a little with it. However, given the shape of the brush, it seems it'd be better suited as a concealer/primer brush. Again because of its stiffness, one would have to have a lighter hand especially when applying concealer or primer on and around the eyes, but I prefer using it for this purpose instead if I have to use it. One of my favorite brushes When I first got this brush it partnered with the Naked Palette. I never used any UD brushes before and instantly I found myself using it with that palette and all my other UD palettes. The brush really packs on the color with out any fallout. The bristles are very soft and feels lovely on your skin. I've even used this brush in a pinch to apply concealer under my eyes when I couldn't find my usual brush and this worked very well. It hasnt shed at all and I use this brush almost daily. The handle to the brush is very user friendly and easy to use. February 2, 2012
love this product came with the naked pallete, fantastic quality and it packs on the colour really well, use it with my mac aswell and works great. December 21, 2011
Don't like This brush is very hard to work with. You can pat shadows on with it and that is basically it. It is a very studry brush though. February 26, 2012
not a good eyeshadow brush This brush isn't dense enough to be a nice shadow brush. it doesn't shead and is a nice size brush, but the bristles are to flimsy and don't pack or pick up color well. i use it to put on concealer, works better for that December 7, 2011
Recommend BUT... not as an eye shadow brush. I've used it as a concealer brush and as an eye-liner brush. It came with my Naked palette. The bristles are a little stiff for eye shadow use. I've used the end of the brush to create an eye liner with eye shadow and do notice it does not "flick" the shadow onto my cheeks. I've also used it as a concealer brush, which I find this brush to work the best for. February 1, 2012
its okay... It's definitely a good quality brush, i just don't like it for applying shadows. The bristles are super stiff and flat, so it's only really good if you're patting on color. you CANNOT blend with this. otherwise your eyeshadow comes out really streaky. So this is good for some things, but if you're blending your shadows, you will most likely need a fluffy blending brush. February 25, 2012
Great Brush, But Not What I Was Expecting :) I got this brush in my naked pallet. When I first tried all the shades out, I used this brush. Some of the first things I noticed were: the amazing quality, the stiffness, and the weight. Handle and look wise, this is the best brush I own; not only does it look high quality, but it feels like high quality. Ok, on to the actual brush. I definitely don't use it as a regular shadow brush- I find it too stiff and pointy. But that is also something I love about it! It is probably one of the best brushes I've used to line my eye with eyeshadow, both to set my eyeliner and to smoke it out; if you use it right, it really packs on the color in a nice line :) So overall, even though I probably don't use it in the intended manor, it is still one of my favorite eye brushes :D February 1, 2012
Good brush but not worth the money I love it for patting on shadow but I don't think it's worth 26 $ (in Canada more expensive) it came with my naked palette. The brush is shorter and heavier than a regular brush. The sleek design is nice but it's just average. I rather invest in Mac or sigma or elf or ecotools I personally think their shadow brushes are better January 31, 2012
Not Shadow Brush, I got this brush with my NakedPalette and I must say that I was disappointed. It doesn't pick up the eye shadow and it makes me waste it. I stopped using it. then later I realized I could use it as a concealer brush. when I tried that it was amazing. It's a great brush but NOT a shadow brush. try it with concealer! February 3, 2012
LOVE it I love this brush best of them all. the good karma brush is so soft and non irritating for my eyes (allergies and contacts). the bristle allow for awesome blending and applying. theres different sizes which makes it all even better. if a palette has a karma brush like this it will definitely be chosen over one that has no brush or the little two ended cushiony brushes. great quality brush, yes a bit expensive to other brands ive seen but honestly its worth it to have at least one good brush and i recommend this one. February 26, 2013
Great eyeshadow brush! I actually have 2 of these brushes, and a travel size also. It is perfect for packing shadow on the lid, but also great for crease work, and under the eye. It's also great for applying cream shadow, and blending out the 24/7 shadows on the lid as a base. Worth the money, and a great purchase! August 16, 2012
Pricey little thing I really liked the brush I got from Naked palette so I went ahead to get more. It's really good quality built brush with metal handle and synthetic hair (PET?), the bristle for this brush is stiff than other one because it is mean to pack on shadows. The downside of the brush is that the brush doesn't pick up certain eye shadows or not as good as natural bristles anyway. Just make sure to pack it couple times. Another thing is, it's really pricey. And I can only found it online and Ulta but no in Sephora. February 16, 2012
Alright... This brush can be used for many different things. I like the pack on my eyeshadow because i like how it looks although this brush really isnt good at it. It overall doesnt get that much color from the pan to the brush to my lid. I dont really like how stiff it is but it is a good brush for you can use it for many different things like i said earlier. I really like how the brushes are synthetic. Price wise i think that 24-26 dollars is way to much for these brushes, just at a glance there is nothing special. February 2, 2012
The ONLY horrible UD product :( I absolutely love UD, absolutely everything from UD--except for their brushes!! I'm not sure exactly what it is about it but it just doesnt catch the pigment of the eye shadow too well. I stick with sephora brand brushes and they work great! Such a disappointment though :( February 9, 2012
It's alright.. Honestly, I use ELF or ULTA brushes when using my naked palette and usually end up forgetting it's even there. It's really smooth when applying to your lid, but you do have to pack on the shadow if you want any color on your lid, but it's pretty versatile. If i'm in a hurry I'm able to use the same brush for a quick shimmer and shadow but If I'm looking for a night look I would definitely use a different brush that picks up more color otherwise it takes forever. August 10, 2012
Decent brush This brush is ok, I use it the most for lining my eyes or setting liner with eyeshadow. Personally, I would like it more if it were a bit fluffier since the sleek bristles don’t pick up a lot of color. Very easy to wash and care for and doesn’t shed its bristles. February 3, 2012
Bristles are too stiff I like the look and feel of this brush, it fits really well in my hand when i use it however I wouldn't recommend this product because i think the brushes are too cheaply made. They are so stiff and hard that when I use it on my eyelid it actually hurts. February 3, 2012
