The down side is that it kind of hurts to apply it. It pulls at your eyelid and doesn't feel so great. One great thing about this pencil is it is portable. I had been looking for a lilac colored eye pencil or shadow for awhile now and this one is PERFECT! The color is perfect, the consistency is perfect, and it really stays put. I love lining my lower lash line with it for a pop of color in the daytime and using it all over my lid for a purple smokey eye at night. I have green eyes, so it really makes them stand out! I can't wait to get another one of these in midnight cowboy! Plus, my friend, who is new to makeup, recently bought two of the 24/7 shadow pencils and she also loves them! She says they are so easy to apply, so smooth, and they last all day or all night for her! And they are so easy to carry, perfect for travel! June 30, 2011Use as a shadow or liner I know these are shadow pencils, but I tend to use these big pencils as liners just as much. I love Juju, but unfortunately it's only available in a travel set. Sin is a great choice when you're in a hurry or lazy and want to apply something quickly and easily. One thing that bothers me is that I have oily lids and these pencils do crease on my lids, even with primer. But, if you draw on your hand, the product totally stays put, so people with less oily lids may have better luck with the staying power. I do recommend using a primer with these because it makes blending much easier. My makeup still looks good right before I wash my face at night and has even looked good after crying! Now that's amazing. I will never go back to using any other eye pencils. Urban decays pencils not only last on your eyes, but the colors are beautiful and it's basically a three in one product : eyeliner, eye shadow and I also use it as a base primer for my other urban decay shadows. February 29, 2012Great idea I loved the idea of these and was super excited when I got my hands on a couple. They are highly pigmented, and go on easily, very similar to the eyeliners. But I found, for me, they don't blend that well. I have the 24/7 blending brush, which I love, but it didn't really help with blending these pencils for me. Maybe I'm just not fast enough. I've used them as a base for a couple of looks, where I don't need them blended well beings they end up under other shadows, and for that, they work great. February 17, 2012Only one word....WOW !!!! I just ordered the 24/7 pencil stash and got them in the mail today. I couldn't wait to try them out, so I did my eyes up before my workout session. First off let me say that the colors are incendiary. They glide on so easily and they look amazing. I assumed, like with all cream shadows I've used before, that these would crease once my workout was completed. Not so! The eye shadow stayed in it's place and still looked fabulous. You need a few of these in your makeup stash. February 17, 2012I'm torn on these! I recently bought the color Clinic because I wanted to jump on the Pantone emerald trend. The shade range is gorgeous but they swatch better than they perform. I had some eyelid dragging, fading, and the color doesn't show up on my waterline at all. I had to soften the pencil tip with heat from my hands, then apply it with a brush to really get it to do what I wanted. If UD ever does another holiday set with these, I'd probably snap it up because of the value. But my fantasy of buying every color in the range individually kinda fizzled out over the rough application. March 6, 2013bomb.com I picked up 4 shades of Urban Decay's new 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils to try the range - Morphine, Rehab, Lit and Delinquent. Let's talk about the shades individually first.. Morphine is a light lilac with a slight blue shift. It has a true color finish, though - not frosty at all. The first instinct is to compare it to Asphyxia (either the 24/7 Pencil in the 15th Anniversary Set or the permanent shadow), but Morphine is lighter, with more of a blue undertone, whereas Asphyxia has a more pink undertone. They are really radically different colors - UD has never had a purple like this before (and they really have a lot of purples, which I love them for!). If you're a fan of the undersell, you'll love Morphine, especially if you have green or hazel eyes. It's gorgeous! Delinquent - a darker violet with a dash of some plum and silver sparkle to it. No problems with glitter fallout. Rehab - I got the best coverage/color payoff with one swipe with Rehab. I was hoping it to be a little more more gray, or at least a lighter brown, but it is a true medium brown with slight brownish/golden sparkle. I was hoping it to be Mushroom (UD's limited edition eyeshadow) in stick-form, but this isn't it at all. Mercury would probably be closer. I'm thinking about picking up Mercury to blend together with Rehab to try to get a Mushroom-like color. [I can't wear the Mushroom Cream Shadow because I'm allergic to one of the ingredients.] Lit - a golden light bronze that leans a little bit orange, I was least impressed with Lit out of the 4. I thought it would look great with my green eyes but once applied, the orange came out a little bit more than I wanted Of course these are 24/7 Pencils so they glide on like satin and absolutely do not budge once set (~10 seconds). These pencils make it so ridiculously fast to do a highly pigmented makeup look, it's not even funny. I guess I have no excuse to leave the house without eye makeup anymore. I'd recommend sticking with the lighter and natural shades because it is a little bit hard to get shades like Delinquent and Rehab to apply evenly. Unfortunately these pencils set so fast it's very difficult to get everything just right, so for that I took a few points off of ease of use. Overall wonderful product though. I will buy Morphine again and again. July 31, 2011Love UD eyeliners! I have the shadow stash,and I absolutely love it!!! Especially clash,the rich vibrant blue is so gorgeous! I love that you can rub the heck out of it and it will not budge,I love to use them as eyeliners and they are so easy for me to use(and i usually have trouble getting a straight line)they really do GLIDE on.no pulling your eyelids and ending up with a dotted line :) these are worth every penny especially if you have a hard time applying liners like me,and also for the array of gorgeous colors that I think would work on anyone. Highly recommend grabbing these up March 8, 2013Best Eyeshaddow Pencils I adore the 24/7 Eyeshadow pencils. I found them by getting the 5 pencil sampler that was put out in the winter of 2011-2012 and I don't ever want to go back. They have all the durability that their eyeliner cousins have, but in a bigger form. The pencils are so creamy when you apply and seem to almost go to a powder consistency on my lids after I let them settle. The pigmentation I would say is actually better on the shadow pencils versus the eyeliners, but like the eyeliners, they last and last and last. I can wear these to work, school, anywhere and they stay on for way more than 24 hours (with a base under them) if I leave them. If you want wonderful color that is long lasting, I wold definitely recommend the 24/7 line February 17, 2012Smokey Eye City!!! These are wonderful to create an easy, one-step smokey eye look. The Mercury color gives a really pretty, smoked out look without being as harsh as the black colors. Apply primer potion and then glide this on your lid to the crease and blend out with a brush. Then apply the pencil again around your eye and line the rim and lash line. Then blend it out to create an easy smokey look. So pretty!! And you know it isn't going to budge from work to the clubs!! July 26, 2011This has been a lifesaver My best friend gave me these for my birthday. My all time favorite shade is sin. I use that one everyday. It is so beautiful. I just swipe it on and go. With a little eyeliner and mascara. People ask me about it all the time. Clash, delinquent, juju, and rehab are also very nice. No creasing, or fading Ever. I have swam in these before.. August 19, 2011first UD product to disappoint me I got this pencil and ended up bringing it back to the store. after a while the pencil no longer "drew" any color... like nothing came off- like a pen that ran out of ink. so weird. and not to mention that fairly soon after I purchased it, I sharpened it (WITH grindhouse, mind you) and the pencil part (the center with the color) started to come out of the outer shell of the pencil. to be more clear, I had an empty hole throughout the 'shell' of my pencil. very strange. I can say with somewhat certainty that I wouldn't purchase this particular product again March 5, 2013Lovin' that Mercury! I just bought this in "Mercury" and I couldn't be happier with my selection. It is a somewhat metallic medium gray that is not overly shimmery or gaudy looking. While the texture of the pencil is smudgeable, it does not travel, crease, or wear off. For a nighttime look, I like to smudge some darker colored powdery shadow into it, and it really holds the shadow in place. For a more interesting look, I add some 24/7 liner in "Eldorado". February 23, 2012Go to beauty product! Absolutely wonderful! I bought two of these last June, Midnight Cowboy and Morphine, and let me just say that they are literally 24/7, and I just don't know how I didn't write a review yet on these! I use Midnight Cowboy at least four time a week and I still have half a stick to boot! As an example- today I used Morphine to line my upper lids, curled my eyelashes, and used a certain orange tubed mascara. Then I went to the beach. It was an incredibly humid day and I sunbathed for two hours, then went swimming for another hour. Afterwards I rinsed off in a beach shower, my makeup was still perfect- six hours later I took a 20 minute steaming hot shower, used a scrub on my face, AND IT IS STILL EXACTLY THE SAME AS IT WAS THIS MORNING. I have gone to two day school camping events, running, and used this before three days of plane travel (Ugh) , and days of generally being a teenager who isn't paying attention to her makeup, in a place where it rains every day, and this stuff just STAYS! If I didn't live in an area where Urban Decay products are not available in store, I would seriously have every color of these. July 24, 2012sadly, not for me. i purchased 3 of these back in may in lit, morphine, and delinquent. unfortunately i was very disappointed in these. first off, one of them broke with the first swipe i made on my eye, and for $20 it should not have done that. i'm very light handed with makeup as well mind you, so i was very surprised this happened. second, as for ease of use....not so much. it tugged at my eye, was hard to blend out evenly, and was not very creamy at all. i had high hopes for these but unfortunately they just didn't deliver. had to end up returning all 3 i purchased. July 28, 201124/7 and they aren't kidding! I recieved this sample when I purchased some lip junkie for my mom for christmas. I was super thrilled to recieve the Purple one (my favorite color ever!) and I love the dark smokey-ness of the pencil. I also really love the glitz added by the glitter. It does blend but after a few seconds it becomes more difficult and does not spread as evenly as I would like. I prefer using the pencil to create bold, sexy cat eyes and dramatic evening looks. *I would recommend you try this product by purchasing the pencil stash bundle with the 5 travel size shades if you are not sure. Right now it is on sale for less than the cost of one pencil and the purple and blue are awesome bold colors, whilst the other three look like insanely good neutrals. February 16, 2012Get it My first urban decay product was this shadow stick in mercury and after I used it and saw it didnt budge the whole day I went back and bought 2 more colors. I have the oiliest eyelids that I know. No other shadow sticks lasted even 3 hrs on my eyelids. By the end of my morning class I would have had raccoon eyes. Now, when I'm lazy and I don't want to use anything else on my eyes. I just glide on mercury and go out the door. No brush needed and no primer needed. About the shadow pencils because so many companies get it wrong. I swatched midnight cowboy on my hand and after I left the store I could NOT stop looking at it ( I bought the liquid liner on the spot) so I went an ordered it. Now if you're a ud fanatic, as myself, you know the midnight cowboy eyeshadow has glitter fall out. The pencil doesn't have the same fall out the shadow does and the shadow pencil is a nice creamy consistency, so its a great way to wear the best-selling color, a different way. I was also impressed with how well it mixes with shadows. I have been using it almost non-stop since I bought it. Because of my experience with the shadow pencil, I bought the kit on sale that has 5 more. I just hope they're equally amazing as mc. Nice job ud! It's extremely blendable, therefore, can be used with other eyeshadows as well as by itself. It's also very smudgeable which helps in creating a sultry, smokey look. For a nighttime look, I like to smudge some darker colored powdery shadow into it, and it really holds the shadow in place. For a more interesting look, I add some 24/7 liner in "Eldorado". February 23, 2012Go to beauty product! Absolutely wonderful! I bought two of these last June, Midnight Cowboy and Morphine, and let me just say that they are literally 24/7, and I just don't know how I didn't write a review yet on these! I use Midnight Cowboy at least four time a week and I still have half a stick to boot! As an example- today I used Morphine to line my upper lids, curled my eyelashes, and used a certain orange tubed mascara. Then I went to the beach. It was an incredibly humid day and I sunbathed for two hours, then went swimming for another hour. Afterwards I rinsed off in a beach shower, my makeup was still perfect- six hours later I took a 20 minute steaming hot shower, used a scrub on my face, AND IT IS STILL EXACTLY THE SAME AS IT WAS THIS MORNING. I have gone to two day school camping events, running, and used this before three days of plane travel (Ugh) , and days of generally being a teenager who isn't paying attention to her makeup, in a place where it rains every day, and this stuff just STAYS! If I didn't live in an area where Urban Decay products are not available in store, I would seriously have every color of these. July 24, 2012sadly, not for me. i purchased 3 of these back in may in lit, morphine, and delinquent. unfortunately i was very disappointed in these. first off, one of them broke with the first swipe i made on my eye, and for $20 it should not have done that. i'm very light handed with makeup as well mind you, so i was very surprised this happened. second, as for ease of use....not so much. it tugged at my eye, was hard to blend out evenly, and was not very creamy at all. i had high hopes for these but unfortunately they just didn't deliver. had to end up returning all 3 i purchased. July 28, 201124/7 and they aren't kidding! I recieved this sample when I purchased some lip junkie for my mom for christmas. I was super thrilled to recieve the Purple one (my favorite color ever!) and I love the dark smokey-ness of the pencil. I also really love the glitz added by the glitter. It does blend but after a few seconds it becomes more difficult and does not spread as evenly as I would like. I prefer using the pencil to create bold, sexy cat eyes and dramatic evening looks. *I would recommend you try this product by purchasing the pencil stash bundle with the 5 travel size shades if you are not sure. Right now it is on sale for less than the cost of one pencil and the purple and blue are awesome bold colors, whilst the other three look like insanely good neutrals. February 16, 2012Get it My first urban decay product was this shadow stick in mercury and after I used it and saw it didnt budge the whole day I went back and bought 2 more colors. I have the oiliest eyelids that I know. No other shadow sticks lasted even 3 hrs on my eyelids. By the end of my morning class I would have had raccoon eyes. Now, when I'm lazy and I don't want to use anything else on my eyes. I just glide on mercury and go out the door. No brush needed and no primer needed. I've always gotten compliments when I use delinquent because the color is so beautiful. February 29, 2012Amazingg These eyeshadow pencils are soo pigmented, and they literally last all day. They even lasted through a shower, i had to scrub with makeup remover to get them off. August 2, 2011Beautiful and long lasting These pencils make putting eyeshadow on in the morning so easy! I love rehab and sin. These colors are blendable but set quickly with no creasing and are 100% budge proof. Where ever you sweep the color, there it would stay. A must have for me. If your looking for some easy shadow that can be used to highlight (sin) inner corner or brow bone or all over the lid and crease (rehab) this is perfect for you! But these pencils truly live up to their name, they glide on and stay on! A little goes a long way, too--one swipe to my lids looks and the color is even and amp'd. I splurged and got the recommended brush, but it's not necessary to use it to get great results. I'd like to see even more colors offered! July 26, 2011Midnight cowboy reinvented I was curious about UD'S shadow pencils because I was hearing all good things. I love ud's eyeliner pencils but I was skeptical. About the shadow pencils because so many companies get it wrong. I swatched midnight cowboy on my hand and after I left the store I could NOT stop looking at it ( I bought the liquid liner on the spot) so I went an ordered it. Now if you're a ud fanatic, as myself, you know the midnight cowboy eyeshadow has glitter fall out. The pencil doesn't have the same fall out the shadow does and the shadow pencil is a nice creamy consistency, so its a great way to wear the best-selling color, a different way. I was also impressed with how well it mixes with shadows. I have been using it almost non-stop since I bought it. Because of my experience with the shadow pencil, I bought the kit on sale that has 5 more. I just hope they're equally amazing as mc. Nice job ud!
