Perfect for a casual day or a fun night out! I use this shadow everyday! It never lets me down. March 5, 2013
Just as amazing as naked 1 love this palate great color selection!!!!!!!!!!!! March 9, 2013
Look naturally beautiful! I absolutely LOVE the naked2 palette! I'm a cool toned and this palette offers beautiful natural colors without the crazy golds and coppers. It could def. be more cooled, but I am very satisfied with the colors. First off, do NOT trust the picture of it online, because it doesn't hold a candle to just how pretty the colors actually are. The colors are beautiful and they are very pigmented. They are also incredibly creamy and not flaky (unless you use the shadow brush). The double ended brush is neat, but the shadow part is way too stiff and doesn't really hold the powder very well, but I just simply use my own brush. When I went to buy it, I compared it the original palette, and granted, it is similar, but also different in it's own way. I personally love the packaging of this one, how it clicks shut. The original magnetic was very confusing to me, because I would either struggle to open it, or almost rip off the top. The mirror is nice and big, and the mini lip junkie that comes with it is gorgeous! I love the way it naturally plumps your lips. If you are deciding which to get, I would go with this one if you want cooler colors, because the first has very little of it! But make sure you can compare in person rather than from pictures! I'm A Little Obsessed :) Okay, after months of drooling over this palette, someone finally got it for me as a gift, and let me just say - it is INCREDIBLE. Where to even begin.... All of the colors are STUNNING (I can literally just sit there and stare at them) and they look wonderful on; they blend beautifully, are highly pigmented, and compliment so many skin tones! I've only used it twice so far, but I played around with it at Sephora (this is very wise to do, as you want to go on a date with this thing before shelling out $50 and marrying it) and I can honestly say I'm in love. I'm throwing out almost all my cheap drugstore shadows because this and my Book of Shadows IV is all I really need! There are so many looks you can create with the two! Something to keep in mind - the colors look VERY DIFFERENT from how they look on screen, so once again I recommend heading over to your local UD supplier and seeing them for yourself before purchasing. To answer a popular question, no I did not have the original Naked, but I think this one is honestly a better offer. It's a better case, comes with a brush, has a bigger mirror, and the shadows are similar enough. I personally wear Naked2's colors more than those in Naked, but it's up to everyone. Basically, it's amazing and I'm so happy I now own it. <3 April 17, 2012
If we could turn this palette into a man he'd be the almost-perfect boyfriend. Erm... What? Why? You might ask. Well, I'll tell you;) First of all, it's very versatile. Wether you're off to work, dinner with your parents or dancing your feet off, here you'll find unboring colours appropriate for just about any occasion, just like you'd want your man to be. Second, it travels well. The case is hard, sturdy, and has got a small compartment for the double-ended brush, which by the way is quite ecellent, or an eyeliner if you prefer. Not likely to come open in your purse, and easy to keep clean. Third, I find the colours to be very easily applied, and stays for as long as I like (although I wouldn't know how they perform without a primer, as I always wear one). Now, why is this only almost-perfect? Glitters! While I love shimmery shades, I don't like glitterbecause of the fall-out. YDK and Chopper makesthisguy flawed. And with Half-Baked (a repeat from Naked that I'm okay with, but only because it enables me to create one of my fave smokey eyes with one palette), I find that I rarely reach for Chopper, and would rather have a medium matte along the lines of Naked or Buck. Also, this "guy" would probably not be the best option for cooler skinned girls. I find that it works great with my warm skintone, but a friend of mine is better off with the original Naked. Naked 2 is an instant cult fave! So like you, I wanted to know, how do the Naked and Naked 2 palette compare? How similar are they. Well, fairly similar, but not at all identical. First, both palettes have a nice assortment of neutrals. However, I find the Naked palette tends to have a few more dark shades. Darkhorse, Creep,Gunmetal and even Smog are very intense dark shades. In the Naked 2 palette there are really only two really dark shades Blackout (super black) and Busted (dupe for Hustle). Where I found this palette really stood apart from the first was in the color tones and finishes. I prefer the matte shades in this palette. The mattes in Naked, I thought, were too orangey and golden. I did not care for Buck or Naked for this reason. The Naked 2 palette gives us Foxy, Bootycall (subtle shimmer, think Sin, less pink) and Tease. Tease has a rosy undertone that Buck lacked and Foxy is the perfect neutral highlight color. So, ultimately what we all ask ourselves is, "Do we need both?" If you have only a passing interest in neutrals, no, you don't need both. Although if you have neither, I think Naked 2 is the stronger palette to buy. If you are a fan of neutrals, if you dream in taupe, then the answer is yes....you need this palette and really, be honest with yourself...you KNOW you are going to buy it anyway. February 26, 2012
absolutely love it!! I've always wanted to buy Naked...but for some reason, i never did... When Naked 2 came out, I was very confused as which one to buy. I looked through all the reviews of one and two... I finally decided to go with the second one... The first thing I love about it is the box. It reminds me of the instrument box i used to take to school when i was a kid... it closes tight and love the feeling of opening a box (such a dork huh!! :P). the colors are so pretty... of course being a college student, the money is always tight and that was one reason i never bought the Naked 1... but the investment i made for Naked 2 was worth it!! seriously, the colors are so rich and pretty... i dont have to rub in multiple times which saves a lot of time and color... I am not an eye make-up person, but since i bought this palette, I have been playing with colors alot. the colors can be worn day to night and thats the best part!! my fav colors have to be snakebite, pistol, busted, half baked, and blackout...the brushes are so soft and especially not cheap...i havent used the lipgloss that much because im afraid its gonna finish soon :P the color is so pretty, so i have been using it only for special events :P The bottom line is: Its worth a try, and worth the investment!! I feel beautiful when i put that on... thats important rite??? :)) February 29, 2012
Never seen a better product I just got this pallette, but already I am in love with it. I have the Naked pallette as well, and when I saw the Naked 2 online I thought they were too similar and didn't think I would end up getting it. However upon seeing the colors, they are not the same at all (other than half baked of course, which is the sole reason I bought the naked 1 pallete in the first place). They are beautiful shades that work well with Naked 1, and are in-between colors of some of those as well. They are perfectly pigmented and easy to apply, especially with the amazing duo brush it comes with. Urban Decay has really outdone themselves this time. I use this pallette every day to school (I'm a senior in high school) and I never cease to get compliments on my make up. It looks so natural but still so beautiful. This pallette shows how make up is supposed to be. I have never felt so beautiful as I feel when I wear the colors from my Naked 2 pallette <3 As a side note, I LOVE that the case snaps shut, because with my other pallette I had to put a hair tye around it when I travelled so nothing would fall out. It was a great addition to add this to the Naked 2 Pallete. There is nothing I would rather spend my money on, and for the amount of colors it comes with, it is really a great price. Did I mention that I'm in love with this product? February 12, 2012
Subtly Beautiful On Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette: I got this palette about a month ago along with the original Naked palette, and after using both often in that time, I got a clear impression of each palette, but this review is all about Naked 2. That being said, I took a good long time to jump on the Naked bandwagon because Naked puts neutrals in the spotlight, and as I have never been a neutrals kind of girl, but a smoky eyes and brights kind of girl, I was reluctant to do so; however, I am really glad that I gave the Naked 2 palette a chance! The Naked 2 palette features a cooler and more grey toned color range than the original Naked palette; they are lighter and overall less dramatic as well. Naked 2 seems to be best for the barely there nude and softly defined eye looks. The shadows glide on with a buttery decadence and blend so easily that they take on a velvety appearance on the lid. The pigmentation in these shadows is nothing less than perfection, and the actual color selection is very good, quite cohesive; I have made so many different looks with this palette that I don't suppose I'll ever get bored of it. My favorite colors in the palette are Verve, Suspect, and Pistol, but I like the way that Blackout can be used to add drama to any look, too. All said, Naked 2 is a great palette for when you want a subtly beautiful look. March 10, 2013
one of my favorite palettes! :) I am beyond obsessed with this palette! Words cannot describe my feelings and admiration for this product! It is so amazing, and perfect in so many ways. The colors are beautiful and perfect for my taste, neutral and not bright or out there. With this palette, there are endless eye look possibilities. I made the mistake of swapping my first Naked II palette and ended up buying it months after. The colors are very pigmented and last all day, I use a e/s primer. You can make day looks or night looks in just one palette. $50 is a lot for makeup, and I've never spent over $40 for a single product beside this and the Naked I Palette. I would repurchase this item hundreds of time if I ran out. I could go on and on, but the point is that you won't regret this purchase if you love neutral eye shadows. Also, you don't need both the Naked I and II palette, I bought both and that was a waste of money. They both are very similar, so pick whichever you like and use that. You'll just neglect one and continuously use the one you favor. I'm glad they included a double ended brush, but I prefer the naked I shadow brush over this. This palettes brush is so thin and can't get much product on, but the blending side is great but could improve. I use my ecotools eye shadow brush and the blending side brush of this. LOVE--- you're missing out! March 8, 2013
You won't be disappointed "Most anticipated sequel of the decade" is the truth! I usually hate sequels; they never live up to the original. But this palette is the exception. Dare I say I even love these cooler, taupey, "greige" shades *even more* than the warm tones in the original Naked palette?! I use this palette almost every single time I wear makeup. I grab for it without even thinking because I know it will contain something I can use easily to create any look i'm going for. The shadows are UD's usual exceptional quality, and the double ended brush included in the tin makes application and blending a breeze, plus, since it's double-ended, I don't keep it in my usual brush holders - i leave it inside the tin and it's right there every time I need it. The only down side of the double-ended brush is that, since i don't keep it with my other brushes, I sometimes don't remember to wash it with the rest of them, and discover it dirty the next day when I go to use it. The packaging is of much better quality than the original Naked palette as well - feels sturdier, thus making it even *more* travel friendly (something I hadn't realized was even possible). My only complaint about the packaging is the latch/closure system - it can be a little difficult to open and close the tin, since it is *so* secure - i wish this palette had a strong magnet closure system instead of the latches. Naked 2 is like Naked 1 but better Just like the original Naked palette, Naked 2 has great shadows with a wide range of colors. But I gave it 4 stars because it features Half Baked, which is a repeat from the original Naked, as well as a few other shades that have near twins in the original. Still, I do think it's a step up from Naked 1 because it has more cool-toned colors; I feel like I could just take this palette on a trip and not feel like I'm missing anything, which was not the case with Naked 1 and I often found myself reaching for other colors (individual shadows, palettes from different brands, etc) to use along with Naked 1. I took a point off for quality because I know these palettes were extremely mass produced to meet the demand, and it shows. The lid of my palette doesn't quite close right and I have to sort of jam it closed, and there are a few dents/divets that appear to be from manufacturing. I will say I like this packaging better than the Naked 1 packaging, since I hate the feeling of anything velvety and the gold lettering rubbed off too easily. Also, the brush that comes in the Naked 2 (especially the flat all-over eye brush end) is not of the best quality. It doesn't really pick up or pack on much color so it's pretty useless, unlike UD's regular brush line. But overall, it's a great product that offers an almost endless array of combinations for everyday and evening wear. It's for girls that are too cool for boring neutrals :) February 29, 2012
Fantastic palette; great for every day or dramatic looks. I never bought the original Naked palette because it was a bit warm/coppery for my coloring, but when the Naked 2 came out, I had to have it. My two absolute favorite shades are Verve and Pistol, which is my new favorite everyday eye combination, but all of the colors work really well together. Blackout is also an excellent, really well pigmented matte black that I've been using a lot. The one disappointing thing about this palette is the two matte shades (other than Blackout) -- Foxy and Tease. Especially for everyday looks, I like to use matte colors in the mix rather than going for entirely shimmery eyes, but these two colors are fairly disappointing. Neither has great pigmentation and Tease in particular has a very dry texture, which was particularly unfortunate, because it would otherwise be a very good subtle crease color for me. Overall, I'm very pleased with the palette, however. The brush isn't one of my favorites for using at home, but it works very well for on the go touch ups. The packaging is very sturdy and I don't worry about it popping open or anything if I'm carrying the palette around in my bag. The mirror is also pleasingly large and convenient for touching up. I also enjoyed the Naked lipgloss mini that came with the palette and am considering getting the full size one (though the mini is lasting me a surprisingly long time). The sample of Afterglow cheek tint I got with my order is also something I may be purchasing full size. February 21, 2012
Good - Not as Great as Expected I want to start off by saying that I spent a good week deciding between this and the original Naked - so I caved and bought both. They both have gorgeous colors. However, I find that blackout is my go-to eyeshadow shade for night. It creates a really cool smokey eye, and I get TONS of complements. The other colors are great for day. I think between the two palates, I won' t need to buy more shadow for years. There is just a ton of makeup there and every color is great. Except perhaps Gunmetal - that might be the one color I don't like in the two palates. It's a bit too light to be a good colored gray. I also thought I would hate the packaging, but have really come to like it. I figured it would break, but it seems quite sturdy. I love that the brush is two sided - it's like you get two brushes for the price of one! It's also great for travel, because I don't have to worry about it opening up. My issue with these shadows is in the quality. I find I have to do a few swipes in order to see the true color - even with a primer. And I always have creases on the outside of my eye. I like the quality of my lancome shadow better (no creasing). The gloss was cute too and had a great tingly feeling when I put it on. I even put it on my mom for her wedding last week, and she looked amazing and it lasted throughout the ceremony and pictures after without re-touching. But, I used it up in less than a week. Common' Urban decay - you can't spring for a slightly larger gloss? March 18, 2012
Great Quality I ordered this mid december after staking the site for weeks. When it arrived, i was disappointed because the pans of eyeshadows fell out, and two of them cracked, but i was able to put them back in and i was okay with it. The quality was great so i didn't mind. A little after new years, foxy fell out and shattered so i sent them an email and pictures, and they were kind enough to send me a brand new one so definitely five stars for customer service. Now for the actual eyeshadows, i definitely agree with people who say this is more for cool toned skin or light skin, i have yellow based medium tan skin, so i didn't quite like the color selection for my sin tone. By this i mean, i needed a warm toned color to balance it out. The pigmentation is just as good as the original. My naked palette has definitely been loved. I hit pan on virgin, sin, naked, buck, and half baked. Half baked is my favorite so i didn't mind that it was also in Naked2. Overall, the palette is great! Urban Decay definitely has my favorite high end eyeshadows. The price is fair considering how much it would cost individually, the brush is great too, however its synthetic so it works better with cream based products but it works okay with the eyeshadows. The lipgloss is great, i love it i want to get the full size. Its a great color that is natural looking. I actually am getting my friend the original for their birthday because their not much into makeup and i think they would use a primer more than a lipgloss. January 31, 2012
Great Product! I bought this on an expensive whim after not liking the first Naked palette, but I figured 'why not?' and bought it as a present for myself anyway. I got home and I fell in love! For me, the shades are more appealing than the original Naked palette and I think they work better together. It's almost impossible to get a bad combination in this palette! Everything goes together really well and blends like a dream. One of the con's I have (which could apply to most of urban decay's shadows) is that it would be nice if there were more matte shades like FOXY, TEASE and BLACKOUT. I would absolutely love to see a matte version of SNAKEBITE or BUSTED, but most UD shades are frosted, metallic or glitter pigmented. The brush is excellent quality and it simple and easy to use and according to my local UD sales assistant, Simone, is worth up to £34 in itself, so I saved myself a ton of money. The lip gloss is literally the cutest thing in the world! I recently bought a lip junkie lip gloss in WATERMELON which I love, and the NAKED shade is similar yet different and tastes/smells amazing, It tingles for a few minutes as it plumps but it looks amazing with any of the looks from the palette. I used this palette on my friends too and they all loved the shades and when I applied their makeup they loved the overall outcome and feel of the look. This palette would be perfect to use for school or work where you want to be subtle yet striking with your looks, but not too over the top. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anybody! April 22, 2012
best makeup product known to man! I have both the naked 1 and naked 2 palette. They are absolutely amaing! I was so hesitant when I bought the naked 1 (my first experience with urban decay). I thought to myself, how great can eyeshadow really be? I thought the price was ridiculous. Then, the eyeshadow met my eyes. It was soft, smooth, and I didn't need very much at all to make a pigmented, shimmery look. That's why I wasn't hesitant about buying the naked 2, and the naked 2 is just as high-quality as the first one. It is he best! You might see some people saying that the naked 2 is more cool toned and that the naked 1 is more warm, but it doesn't matter! With all of the people who I have seen wear these palettes, they look great on everyone! Warm-toned people (including me) look great wearing the naked 2, and cool-toned people look great wearing the naked 1. The lip gloss is very smooth, non-sticky, shimmery, with a litte bit of color, yet still mature looking, with a little bit of a mint flavor. I would suggest the UD eyeshadow primer for long-lasting, more pigmneted results, especially if you have moist/oily eyes like me. With the primer, these shadows lasted for 8 hours! Other brands of eyeshadows and eye primers only last me about 2! As for the brush provided, I had a much higher expectation. The brushes I owned before I bought either palette gave me a more pigmented look with 1 sweep of the brush through the eyshadow than 6 or 7 sweeps with the UD brush! I found myslef going back for more and more eyeshadow with their brush, but that's my only complaint! Everything else about this palette is fabulous! September 23, 2012
OMG! Naked 2 reigns over my makeup collection! First of all, I need to say I am SO excited about this product! I had always wanted the Naked, but was slightly hesitant to try it only because the shades were warm toned. Then Urban Decay decided to create the Naked palette's sister, Naked 2!! I jumped at the first opportunity to buy this palette because of the new cooler toned shades which I knew would match my fairer skin better. I was super excited when I received this product for Christmas; when I opened the package, I was even more happy with this product right off the bat. The shades are gorgeous in any light, especially in natural daylight. When I swatched the colors, I was surprised at the intensity of the shadows; such good pigmentation! I've tried all the shades and am obsessed! I'm impresses with the color payoff and the consistency, as well as the selection of shades. I also love love love the dual-ended eye brush that is now a part of my brush collection; its slim yet easy to hold and transfers the shadow onto the eyelid smoothly and softly without irriating the eyelid. The crease brush is the perfect density and blends beautifuly. I loved the mini lipgloss that came with the package too! In the shade "Naked," it appropriately looks great with any eye look you could create from the Naked 2 palette. The palette itself is great, and I would recommend it to anyone who has fairer, cool toned skin like me. You will LOVE this palette! With the range of shimmer to matte to sparkly shadows, you will be impressed and want to use it everyday like I have since I received it! Thank you Urban Decay for making neutrals sexy and pretty, not boring! :) February 2, 2012
Great Neutral Palette I'm a freshman in high school and wanted something neutral for everyday. I considered the Naked palette but since my skin is pretty fair I went with this one. The packaging is really nice and I love the case, I don't have Naked so I can't compare, but it's really shiny, sturdy, cool to the touch, and snaps shut so the shadows don't fall out. The mini lipgloss included was also really creamy and I'm probably going to be getting the full size soon. On to the shadows, I like most of them. They're good quality, really pigmented, and not too glittery. A lot of reviews I read had people complaining about how they repeated Half Baked, but I personally love it and I think it's a staple shade in any Naked palette. The colors work really well for school, and you don't need both Naked palettes, but it would be nice since I think the colors from both complement each other. I experienced some crumbly fallout, but I was able to whisk it away and it's not a problem. The brush is a nice double-ended brush and easy to use. It's not bad quality, and is nice and soft/fluffy, but sturdy. The thinner side is perfect for a highlight and crease and the thicker side works for the whole lid and corners. The colors last without primer, but primer does make them pop even more. I would definitely recommend this palette- My favorites include Half Baked and Suspect. They work so well for school and add just a hint of shimmer to that "all natural makeup" look. I think the colors in this palette paired with a fresh face and glossy lip look great together :) One more thing- the mirror takes up the whole top half and it makes it easier to apply straight from the palette. It's definitely a plus :D February 10, 2012
Work Appropriate with Edge I have been very happy with my Naked2 Palette. I already had the Naked Palette, but was so happy with that that I wanted Naked2 as well. I have just started wearing makeup regularly for the past 6 months, and it is wonderful to have beautiful eye shadows to play with to create many different work-appropriate looks. I have sensitive skin, so I did not wear makeup for a long time because my skin would have a negative reaction to it (breakouts, redness, uneven skin tone, etc.). However, with Urban Decay products, I do not have that problem, and with the UD Eye Shadow Primer, the eye shadows from the Naked2 Palette stay on all day. If you are thinking about buying Naked2, a few things to consider: - if you are warm or cool skinned (I have olive skin with cool undertones, so of the two palettes, Naked2 with its cool undertones makes my skin seem more vibrant) - your eye color (I have tiny golden flecks of color in my brown eyes, so if I really want to focus on my eyes, using the Naked palette's Smog and Dark Horse, really make my brown eyes pop) - the colors that you wear every day near your face (if you choose cool colors (blue undertones): Naked2, if you choose warm colors (yellow undertones): Naked) - the double ended brush that comes with the Naked2 palette (It's AWESOME! If you are a makeup newbie like me, having a double ended crease and eye shadow brush makes applying makeup artfully, easy and fun.) - in my opinion, the cooler colors of the Naked2 Palette look more "romantic" and the warmer colors of the Naked Palette look more "dramatic" with my skin tone and eye color. Of course, you can combine the two palettes (which I plan to do for an epic silver or smoky eye next time I go out dancing), but if deciding between the two, keep that in mind. Thanks for the awesome palette, Urban Decay! :D February 17, 2012
Love this palette Thought I'd share my two cents on this one. I'm glad Urban Decay came out with a sequel to the most coveted Naked Palette that seemed to have spurred other brands to come up with their versions of "Naked." And of course once this came out, everyone was on with the comparisons. The original was more bronze and cocoa and warm shades, while '2' were more taupe and neutral shades. I must admit the only reason I bought this palette was for the color Pistol, the gray-brown taupe because I can not get enough of taupe. The other reason I got this palette was because it truly is the palette that I can take anywhere and will probably hit pan on at least one color, which I have never been able to do with my palettes. Even though I've already tried or have the shades that come in this palette, the combination of them in this palette makes it worth every penny. For example, I already have Half Baked, Chopper, Suspect, Verve, YDK, and Blackout. That's already half the palette I already have in other palettes. I'm actually glad they put in Suspect and Verve which came in the Rollergirl palette because I use them quite often with Blackout from the 15th Anniversary palette in the crease to add definition. Verve is also a great color to highlight the inner corner. Another standout for me: Foxy. I use Lancome's eyeshadow in Positive because it is the best neutral brow/highlight color without being over the top shimmery. I've only tried a few looks so far, but I feel like I can create tons more. For example, today I tried YDK on the lid, Busted in the crease and Verve for highlight. I very much prefer this palette to the original Naked because I did feel it was too warm for my complexion (NC35). I'm glad I bought it when I did because it is sold out! It's also a good thing this is permanent so I can come back for it when I hit pan on Foxy. February 1, 2012
Another Must Have! I LOVE the packaging on the naked 2 palette! its a firm case that closes securely I can throw it in my purse and not have to worry about it opening, and the mirror is huge! it is great! the colors are great super pigmented of course some mattes and shimmers. not a lot of mattes in either naked palettes though so I think if a naked 3 is in the works it should be all matte shadows because though i personally prefer shimmer (anywhere from a light satiny finish to a heavy glitter) there are times when shimmer may not be the best, especially since I do bridal makeup as a freelance makeup artist i have to watch the use of shimmer sometimes. now the tones in naked 2 are more cool and the original naked is more warm and for me personally I am a medium light skin tone red hair freckles hazel green eyes, warm tones are just better for me personally, so if you want to get one or the other that's what i would consider is if you are a warm tone or a cool tone. now I like the there are a few lights and a few darks and lots of medium tones which is great for me, now I have heard complaints about not enough darks but this isn't a smokey palette its a naked palette so i think it is perfect...but maybe urban decay can take that into consideration...a naked matte palette, and a smokey palette for future references, in this same packaging style because you get a lot of shadow bang for your buck and it is super travel efficient. unlike some of their other larger palette constructions though they may be fun they aren't travel friendly like the naked palettes are now the brush, i will be honest at 1st I did not like this brush! however after using it a few times it got better! and i love the double ended sides in a pinch or a rush or on the go this one brush will do everything i need. The gloss is amazing! so amazing I went and bought the full size tube! great light shimmer neutral pinky brown nude, stays like crazy! this stuff sticks to your lips and lasts!and has a minty smell and taste and a lightly plumping tingle January 31, 2012
A great beginning I had never tried Urban Decay. If I had played that “first thoughts” game, “Urban Decay” would earn the response “Glitterbomb”. I’m not sure what got me interested, perhaps all the hype about the Naked and Naked 2 palettes. I read a review about matte shades (sorry, I cannot remember where, it was a late night search). The blogger mentioned that Urban Decay had surprisingly nice matte shades, and that most shimmer shades were nice as well. So, I when I was browsing Sephora later that week, I stopped by the Urban Decay section. Nice mattes is an understatement. I also agree that most of the shimmer shades are not OTT. So, Naked and Naked 2 were in my sights. Which to choose? It was a very hard choice, but I opted for Naked 2 even though I had some misgivings. I am light complected with red undertones. I make many warm tones turn that aforementioned Dorito orange. Yet cool tones don’t really suit me either, they turn ghastly purple and red on me - even when the SA has no clue there are red tones in the shade. I was hesitant to try Verve and Pistol, even thought they are beautiful in the palette, they are the shades I love, but hate on me. I am thrilled that they stay truly gorgeous and silvery, no purple or red. My eyes look awake and green! Suspect and Snakebite were another test. Gorgeous gold and bronze - again they compliment my green eyes. Tease is a subtle, flattering crease color which tones down the shimmer of Pistol and Verve. Again, I love it in the palette, but it has a hint of plum that normally spells disaster. I use primer and Walk of Shame as a base. These have lasted long days - nothing hot, yet. But perfect for fall, winter and spring. If the shimmers fail the summer test I’ll stick to the mattes. The Naked and Naked 2 palettes are such a great way to try different shades. They are full size, just different shape pans as the singles. For about the price of 3 singles, the palette gives you 12 coordinating shades to play with. I like the lip gloss so much I may buy a full size, and Naked is on my list for after the holidays. All my pigments, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, MAC, LORAC, Tarte, Lancome, and miscellaneous other brands will be relegated to the back of the stash, I have found my eyeshadow brand! November 28, 2012

I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anybody! best makeup product known to man!
