Best product of all time I love urban decay for many reasons, they don' test on animals, their make up has all day staying power, and they offer a variety of selection in their makeup. By far my favorite product is the eye shadow primer potion! I work two jobs and I am always running around and my eye shadow never use to last more than a few hours without creasing. With this I never have to worry about. This primer makes my eyeshadow last through 14 hours and both jobs easily! I have never used anything like it before. It is my absolute favorite thing I own. Great Primer, and proof that UD listens to customers! Using primer makes such a huge difference when applying eye shadow, whether an everyday look or a bold and beautiful look for going out. Urban Decay's original primer potion helps your shadows stay put without creasing and also helps them live up to their potential by making them show up brighter and truer. I say that their primer potion is a proof that they listen to their customers because most people complained about the genie shaped bottle. It was cute but not very practical for getting all of the product out. The first step UD took was to angle the applicator, but when that wasn't enough, they switched to the tube. Awesome, right? It was like meeting the love of my life and following up with marriage! Keeps shadow firmly affixed to lids, even in the Arizona heat! Shadow stays vibrant, vivid. Zero creasing. Shadow is also easy to blend atop this primer. The package redesign (no more flocked doefoot) makes it even better! There's more than one shade, too. There is no creasing, and eyeshadow/liner stays put - as well as decreasing fallout during application. My favorite is the colour EDEN because it instantly brightens the eye area. The test that time and time again it passes with flying colours is a long night out filled with dancing and sweat! If my makeup can survive and look fab when I emerge from the dance floor, it can survive anything! I can no longer apply my eye makeup without having this on first. Can't do makeup without! I never even heard of primer before Urban Decay. I received a trial size with my first palette and instantly fell in love. I have ni idea how I had done my makeup all that time without using a primer. Makes such a difference for the color pigmentation and lasting power of your eyeshadow. You put this primer on and your eyeshadow isnt going anywhere for awhile! The original has always been my favorite but i like to use sin when i use sin eyeshadow or colors similiar because it makes the color pop more and i like to use edem to tone down some shimmer colors and helps make them a little more wearable. Fantastic! I don't generally write reviews, but this one was just so good that I absolutely had to. The primer potion is super easy to use, the way I apply it is that I put it on my two index fingers and rub them on my eyelids. I'm a swimmer, so I don't know whether or not this is waterproof but it definitely stays on while I'm in the water. It also makes my eyeshadow stay on ALL DAY (I have really oily eyelids!). They don't always have it in store at ULTA, so I try to buy two at a time when it's available. I use this everyday and a single tube lasts me about a year. It truly is fantastic. Most Impressive Eye Primer I work at a popular cosmetics store and have tons of eyeshadow primers to chose from, yet every day I use and recommend Urban Decay's Primer Potion because it truly is the best. It's super easy to work with, doesn't feel like having anything on, brings out the best in your shadow or liner color, and lasts as long as you want it to (until you use your makeup remover). Another thing I love about Primer Potion is that it will last you a long time, even with daily use. You only need a little dot of the product on the back of your hand and then use your finger to dab in on the eye area and gently blend it in. If you love eye makeup, you need this primer! Must have for long-lasting shadow I fell in love with the Original potion long ago and couldn't imagine going with out it. Although I hate to admit it, I know this stuff can make my shadow last (literally) for days. Any issues I have ever had with creasing or drying have been resolved by applying less...which is a pro in itself. I will say I am not a huge fan of Eden. It is the only other shade I've attempted and I did not like the way the color impacted my shadow. It had a yellowish tint that definitely changes the way your shadow looks. It might be good for some, depending on what you're going for, but I would definitely stick with Original if you enjoy your shades the way they are. February 1, 2012
This is the best primer i have ever tried I have used primers from other high end companies then bought a pallet from urban decay with one of these primers in original. i have THE most oily lids of anyone i have ever met every single primer seems to eventually crease and it absolutely drives me crazy! i tried this one and tested it for a day and its absolutely amazing never creases on me, the eyeshadow blends excellent (other primers made the eyeshadow stick to one spot and it wouldn't budge) i absolutely am in luv with this product! Sticking to these like my shadows stick to my UDPP! I've been doing makeup for years and have tried a million different eye primers, but I always find myself coming right back to UDPP. NOTHING works as well as these amazing primer potions! I've got them all and use them on clients everyday. The thing I love about these is that you don't have to use it just as an eyeshadow primer. You can wear it under your concealer to keep your under eye makeup from creasing. I love sin as a high light. It's absolutely beautiful on top of the cheek bones. Best Product I've Ever Used I love this primer potion, I ALWAYS use it (in "original") under my eyeshadow. I have extremely oily skin, so usually my makeup clumps up a lot, very quickly. Not the case with this primer potion! Everything stays in place for over 12 hours, even when I work an 8-hour shift in a busy cafe (even the steam from our espresso machine and dish washer doesn't affect it!). Its also very easy to remove. I've tried other primers that I received as samples (namely Tarte and Smashbox) and they just do NOT compare at all, UD is the best of the best! A+++++++ Product! I can't say enough about this product. It's truly amazing! I have oily eyelids and no eye makeup (even waterproof) stayed on all day for me. I would put my shadow and liner on & within an hour or two it started smearing/creasing. By the end of the day, it would be all but gone. HOWEVER...... I purchased this product and WOW. I only need a tiny bit on each lid (I even put some by my lower lashes). It goes on smoothly & feels nice. I then apply my eye makeup & literally it stays put until I take it off at bedtime. Excellent Product (Even better with the wand!) I came across this product accidentally and actually purchased it as a as minute item. I happened to see it while waiting in line a Sephora and just threw it in my shopping bag. Since using it the first time and falling completely in love with it, I never neglect to apply this as my base before applying any type of eye shadow. This product does exactly what it claims. My eye shadow lasts all day and there is no creasing to speak of. After purchasing the Naked palette and trying the sample with the wand, I must say that the primer potion is a lot easier to use with the wand. Have 3 out of 4! This is a must have when I put on my makeup, never will I apply makeup unless I use this product first! I love how it makes my makeup last until I wash it off!! I love love love the new packaging - even thought the old one is really pretty it was hard to use. Original - It's my favorite for a day at the office. Greed & Sin - These are great when you are going out for the night. For me it has too much sparkle, but for a night in Vegas or for drinks its perfect. However I find it extremely time consuming to wash my face 2-3 times until all the sparkle is gone. I use UD's clean and sober and it still takes 2 cotton pads per eyelid. February 21, 2012
Too good Prior to using this primer, I was using a cheap one dollar eye primer that worked decently. However, after a friend recommended and bought me the primer potion, I was amazed at how my shadows seemed to be more vibrant. Because my other primer worked pretty well (covered all the basics like making the shadows last longer), I wasn't too surprised when this potion also made my shadows last, but what surprised me was that the potion blended out in a matter of seconds and magically made my shadows look more pigmented. I will say though that at first the primer seems a little sticky, but after blending it the sticky feeling will go away. March 1, 2012
My go to primer I absolutely LOVE this primer. I stick to using Eden because I have vieny eyelids and this covers them flawlessly and gives me the perfect base. I have also tried the original and love it. My shadow lasts all day and doesnt crease at all. It even makes my shadow completely waterproof. I have to touch up all my makeup midday but never have to touch my eyeshadow. I love the new packaging also, much easier to get the product out. I have no reason to and couldnt imagine straying away from this product. It is an absolute essential and it lasts a very long time to. MUST HAVE FOR PROS AND MAKEUP LOVERS So I'm a professional MUA and have used (and switch up) my eye shadow primers on a constant. I have had yet to find that ONE that did it all TILL UD's Eye shadow Primer Potion. This stuff is AHHHH-MAZING!! I have the original formula and it's so awesome!! It not only holds the shadow in place and eliminates any creasing it holds the liner in place as well. Even for my clients that have oily eye lids or are prone to sweating the eye makeup will NOT budge w/this magical potion. A Necessity For Eye Shadow I've used the original formula before and wanted to try the other colors. This eye shadow primer is perfect. I couldn't really wear eye shadow before because it would get all creasy and smudge off, but with a thin layer of the primer it stays all day with no crease at all. Eden is a matte beige color, nothing really all that exciting. Sin is a pretty shimmery champagne color and Baked is a gold color. Sin is my favorite because it kind of highlights as well but they are all pretty sheer and not very pigmented so i use eye shadow on top of them anyways so it doesn't really matter if you buy the primer in original or a pretty color. the perfect eyeshadow primer I've always loved the primer potion, but I'm especially overjoyed about the new tube, because now I can use every last bit! I love this primer because I only need a small amount to create a smooth base, and my eyeshadow stays in place until I wash my face! I've even gone as far as to use the original on top of any blemishes I might have if I need a little extra coverage, I put concealer on top and a little finishing powder and it stays hidden all day (or night). Eyeshadow Primer I absolutely love this stuff! I have always had oily skin, this means my eyeshadow always melts and cakes in the creases, yuck! I started experimenting with primers and they all melted. Then I decided to invest a little bit of money and try UD eyeshadow primer. Definitely worth it, my shadow stays put for forever. I'm still undecided as to whether I miss using the wand for application. I don't miss the old bottles tho, it always felt like there was more left but you could never get to it. Righteous Shimmery "Beautiful Peepers" Genie in a Bottle In a nutshell, without eyeshadow primer you might as well put butter on your eyes and let the shadows slide off early to get it over with. This stuff is SO beautiful you almost want to wear it all by itself. The basic primer does dry clear as promised and Eden does brighten the eyelid area. But Sin and Greed are, of course, this avaricious attorney's faves. When you use either powder or stick shadows over them, they create a beautiful effect and the colors stay true and last until your carriage turns into a pumpkin and back again. No make up look is 100% without this product. I have been interested in make up for many years. I always experiment with different looks, different styles, different colors, etc. I was previously a MAC addict, but was introduced last year to this eye shadow primer (thanks to the Naked Palette!) and have fallen in complete love. Must have!!!! This eyeshadow primer is the only one I use! It makes my eyeshadow (and even eyeliner) last all day! My eyeshadow never creases or fades. Best I've used. I haven't tried many other brands so I can't really compare it to other primers. These are the best I have used. The original packaging stinks because of how much product doesn't come out. I am glad they have the new tubes. The regular one covers darkness pretty well as my eyelids can look purple sometimes. Shadows stick well and stay on all day. I have sin which is a nice color, but not my favorite as it can be a bit much on the shimmer and I would prefer a lighter pinky shade. I have tried a sample of the matte version and liked it as well. I have not tried the gold. I hope they come out with more colors. Maybe a silver for those of us with cooler tones. January 5, 2012
a VERY loyal companion for your palletes! These superb potions are all pretty darn amazing. I received a 4 pack sampler for all the pigments and they really do make a difference in the effect you want to create. I use Original or Eden as an every day (work) primer, for my more neutral, less dramatic looks. But when I'm going out and depend on those twinkling lights to bring out my eyes, I go for either Greed or Sin to add some shimmer to my brow bone and to lock in my shimmery shadows. No other primer can do this! I pride myself in my eye-effects and get lots of compliments (even from my boss!) on my eyes and it all really begins with my favorite primers. Thank you, UD! Basic Luxury I prefer the original, although Eden is appealing as well. A little of this goes a long way but it dries quickly, so take care to spread it evenly across the lid and to press it into invisibility at the outer edges of your eyes or you will have a blotchy textured dollop that is difficult to get off or coverup without washing your entire face. I find that this works best on Urban Decay shadows but is pretty versatile with other brands as well (whether loose or pressed). The eyeshadow stays put for 8-12 hours depending, and up to 30 hours (for those crazy weekends) if you used a finishing/setting spray on top. I like how it helps all colors read fairly true to their appearance in the tray. The pigments are almost as saturated and are easier to apply. March 5, 2013
Eyeshadow will stay on ALL NIGHT I know you're not supposed to do this (or admit it!) but I sometimes end up going to sleep w/o taking my makeup off! And guess what: When I've used the primer, my eyes look EXACTLY like they did the night before!! This is probably the best product that UD makes (maybe a tie w/ the eyeshadows). I always always use it, and Sin is my favorite b/c of how nicely it compliments most colors and my skintone. The only thing you have to get used to is how much to squeeze out. If you put too much, it ends up being too whitish and especially be careful w/how much you apply on your browbone. I always go light here so that my highlighting shade doesn't look overwhelming. Oil be gone, makeup stay on! I got the original primer potion on a recommendation online. I have terribly oily eyelids to where my makeup melts off as though I were hit with a flame thrower. An hour after applying my eye makeup I look as though I've just come off a three day bender complete with raccoon eyes. I tried this stuff as a last resort, but didn't have much hope that it would work. IT WORKS! It totally works people! It's light and creamy, which seems the antithesis of the dry matte feeling you're looking for, but when it dries a nuclear bomb couldn't blast this stuff off. OK, I over exaggerate just a little, but really, my makeup stayed on all day and for me, that's a miracle. September 24, 2012
Avoid Eden . . . I have always used Original Eye Primer in the vintage bottle with the wand applicator and loved it. Decided to try Eden in the squeeze tube and was very disappointed. Shade looks quite yellow when it's applied to your eyelid and does not blend well. It cakes and pulls and doesn't go on smoothly. The original is amazing in terms of staying power as well: I can apply eye shadow at 7:00 am in the morning before work and my makeup still looks great at 10:00 pm if I'm out for the evening. But the Eden fades by noon and my eye shadow and liner crease or wear off. I would avoid this particular product and stick with the original. December 9, 2011
UDPP is my FAVORITE product!!!!! These primer potions are deemed the best for a reason! UDPP is my absolute must have makeup item!!! the variety of colors makes them the perfect base for ANY look. My personal favorite is sin, it can be worn as a champagne base to give extra dimension to anything you apply over it, worn alone to give an ethereal glow, and also makes a perfect inner eye and brow highlighter!!! and dont even get me started on greed! it makes your eyes look as though they are literally gilded! these primers have amazing staying power and NEVER flake or crease. the amount of product for the price is a steal and i would recommend them to everyone!! Have 3 out of 4! This is a must have when I put on my makeup, never will I apply makeup unless I use this product first! I love how it makes my makeup last until I wash it off!! I love love love the new packaging - even thought the old one is really pretty it was hard to use. Original - It's my favorite for a day at the office. Greed & Sin - These are great when you are going out for the night. For me it has too much sparkle, but for a night in Vegas or for drinks its perfect. However I find it extremely time consuming to wash my face 2-3 times until all the sparkle is gone. I use UD's clean and sober and it still takes 2 cotton pads per eyelid. February 21, 2012
Too good Prior to using this primer, I was using a cheap one dollar eye primer that worked decently. However, after a friend recommended and bought me the primer potion, I was amazed at how my shadows seemed to be more vibrant. Because my other primer worked pretty well (covered all the basics like making the shadows last longer), I wasn't too surprised when this potion also made my shadows last, but what surprised me was that the potion blended out in a matter of seconds and magically made my shadows look more pigmented. I will say though that at first the primer seems a little sticky, but after blending it the sticky feeling will go away. March 1, 2012
My go to primer I absolutely LOVE this primer. I stick to using Eden because I have vieny eyelids and this covers them flawlessly and gives me the perfect base. I have also tried the original and love it. My shadow lasts all day and doesnt crease at all. It even makes my shadow completely waterproof. I have to touch up all my makeup midday but never have to touch my eyeshadow. I love the new packaging also, much easier to get the product out. I have no reason to and couldnt imagine straying away from this product. It is an absolute essential and it lasts a very long time to. (As a tip make sure to squeeze out the air, it keeps it from drying out!) March 9, 2013
MUST HAVE FOR PROS AND MAKEUP LOVERS So I'm a professional MUA and have used (and switch up) my eye shadow primers on a constant. I have had yet to find that ONE that did it all TILL UD's Eye shadow Primer Potion. This stuff is AHHHH-MAZING!! I have the original formula and it's so awesome!! It not only holds the shadow in place and eliminates any creasing it holds the liner in place as well. Even for my clients that have oily eye lids or are prone to sweating the eye makeup will NOT budge w/this magical potion. Also I love how the original is like almost clear once on the eye it really pulls the true color of any shadow out. I have 2 tubes in my kit and one in my personal makeup. A Necessity For Eye Shadow I've used the original formula before and wanted to try the other colors. This eye shadow primer is perfect. I couldn't really wear eye shadow before because it would get all creasy and smudge off, but with a thin layer of the primer it stays all day with no crease at all. Eden is a matte beige color, nothing really all that exciting. Sin is a pretty shimmery champagne color and Baked is a gold color. Sin is my favorite because it kind of highlights as well but they are all pretty sheer and not very pigmented so i use eye shadow on top of them anyways so it doesn't really matter if you buy the primer in original or a pretty color. the perfect eyeshadow primer I've always loved the primer potion, but I'm especially overjoyed about the new tube, because now I can use every last bit! I love this primer because I only need a small amount to create a smooth base, and my eyeshadow stays in place until I wash my face! I've even gone as far as to use the original on top of any blemishes I might have if I need a little extra coverage, I put concealer on top and a little finishing powder and it stays hidden all day (or night). Another nice thing is the new primer shades can be worn alone or under eyeshadow to give depth the your look and finish. Over all this really is the best eyeshadow primer! February 3, 2012
Eyeshadow Primer I absolutely love this stuff! I have always had oily skin, this means my eyeshadow always melts and cakes in the creases, yuck! I started experimenting with primers and they all melted. Then I decided to invest a little bit of money and try UD eyeshadow primer. Definitely worth it, my shadow stays put for forever. I'm still undecided as to whether I miss using the wand for application. I don't miss the old bottles tho, it always felt like there was more left but you could never get to it. Using your fingers to blend it in does work well. I have noticed that if I wait about five minutes after applying, that my make up stays on better. I love this product! March 5, 2013
Righteous Shimmery "Beautiful Peepers" Genie in a Bottle In a nutshell, without eyeshadow primer you might as well put butter on your eyes and let the shadows slide off early to get it over with. This stuff is SO beautiful you almost want to wear it all by itself. The basic primer does dry clear as promised and Eden does brighten the eyelid area. But Sin and Greed are, of course, this avaricious attorney's faves. When you use either powder or stick shadows over them, they create a beautiful effect and the colors stay true and last until your carriage turns into a pumpkin and back again. It washes off easily and does not irritate the eyes. And oh the looks you get when those amazing colors stay true and visible all day or night....POW! Love it. February 1, 2012
No make up look is 100% without this product. I have been interested in make up for many years. I always experiment with different looks, different styles, different colors, etc. I was previously a MAC addict, but was introduced last year to this eye shadow primer (thanks to the Naked Palette!) and have fallen in complete love. After using this product I have noticed a tremendous difference in how my eyeshadow colors look more beautiful and vibrant and they last all night and day! Must have!!!! This eyeshadow primer is the only one I use! It makes my eyeshadow (and even eyeliner) last all day! My eyeshadow never creases or fades. I love that it's in a tube because you can squeeze out the right amount. But you only need just a little bit and you never have to worry about creased or faded eyeshadow. February 27, 2012
Best I've used. I haven't tried many other brands so I can't really compare it to other primers. These are the best I have used. The original packaging stinks because of how much product doesn't come out. I am glad they have the new tubes. The regular one covers darkness pretty well as my eyelids can look purple sometimes. Shadows stick well and stay on all day. I have sin which is a nice color, but not my favorite as it can be a bit much on the shimmer and I would prefer a lighter pinky shade. I have tried a sample of the matte version and liked it as well. I have not tried the gold. I hope they come out with more colors. Maybe a silver for those of us with cooler tones. January 5, 2012
a VERY loyal companion for your palletes! These superb potions are all pretty darn amazing. I received a 4 pack sampler for all the pigments and they really do make a difference in the effect you want to create. I use Original or Eden as an every day (work) primer, for my more neutral, less dramatic looks. But when I'm going out and depend on those twinkling lights to bring out my eyes, I go for either Greed or Sin to add some shimmer to my brow bone and to lock in my shimmery shadows. No other primer can do this! I pride myself in my eye-effects and get lots of compliments (even from my boss!) on my eyes and it all really begins with my favorite primers. Thank you, UD! Basic Luxury I prefer the original, although Eden is appealing as well. A little of this goes a long way but it dries quickly, so take care to spread it evenly across the lid and to press it into invisibility at the outer edges of your eyes or you will have a blotchy textured dollop that is difficult to get off or coverup without washing your entire face. I find that this works best on Urban Decay shadows but is pretty versatile with other brands as well (whether loose or pressed). The eyeshadow stays put for 8-12 hours depending, and up to 30 hours (for those crazy weekends) if you used a finishing/setting spray on top. I like how it helps all colors read fairly true to their appearance in the tray. The pigments are almost as saturated and are easier to apply. March 5, 2013
Eyeshadow will stay on ALL NIGHT I know you're not supposed to do this (or admit it!) but I sometimes end up going to sleep w/o taking my makeup off! And guess what: When I've used the primer, my eyes look EXACTLY like they did the night before!! This is probably the best product that UD makes (maybe a tie w/ the eyeshadows). I always always use it, and Sin is my favorite b/c of how nicely it compliments most colors and my skintone. The only thing you have to get used to is how much to squeeze out. If you put too much, it ends up being too whitish and especially be careful w/how much you apply on your browbone. I always go light here so that my highlighting shade doesn't look overwhelming. Oil be gone, makeup stay on! I got the original primer potion on a recommendation online. I have terribly oily eyelids to where my makeup melts off as though I were hit with a flame thrower. An hour after applying my eye makeup I look as though I've just come off a three day bender complete with raccoon eyes. I tried this stuff as a last resort, but didn't have much hope that it would work. IT WORKS! It totally works people! It's light and creamy, which seems the antithesis of the dry matte feeling you're looking for, but when it dries a nuclear bomb couldn't blast this stuff off. OK, I over exaggerate just a little, but really, my makeup stayed on all day and for me, that's a miracle. September 24, 2012
Avoid Eden . . . I have always used Original Eye Primer in the vintage bottle with the wand applicator and loved it. Decided to try Eden in the squeeze tube and was very disappointed. Shade looks quite yellow when it's applied to your eyelid and does not blend well. It cakes and pulls and doesn't go on smoothly. The original is amazing in terms of staying power as well: I can apply eye shadow at 7:00 am in the morning before work and my makeup still looks great at 10:00 pm if I'm out for the evening. But the Eden fades by noon and my eye shadow and liner crease or wear off. I would avoid this particular product and stick with the original. December 9, 2011
UDPP is my FAVORITE product!!!!! These primer potions are deemed the best for a reason! UDPP is my absolute must have makeup item!!! the variety of colors makes them the perfect base for ANY look. My personal favorite is sin, it can be worn as a champagne base to give extra dimension to anything you apply over it, worn alone to give an ethereal glow, and also makes a perfect inner eye and brow highlighter!!! and dont even get me started on greed! it makes your eyes look as though they are literally gilded! these primers have amazing staying power and NEVER flake or crease. the amount of product for the price is a steal and i would recommend them to everyone!!
