SirenRatings Summary24/7 644 644This liner is going nowhere I am a liquid liner junkie, so when I came across the new liners for UD, I was excited. The color selection is great. While I enjoy having a brown and black liner for more conservative looks, I am always drawn to color. And I was not disappointed! The hardest part is choosing just one to pick up. I settled on Retrograde since purple is so versatile. First thing I noticed was the pigmentation, which wasn't shocking since this is Urban Decay. The color is beautiful and rich, and completely opaque. Some liquid liners are fairly watered down, so it takes several passes to build up the color, but not this one! The next thing I noticed was how long it lasted. I swatched the color on my hand and almost instantly, it was locked down. The first time I wore this, I slept in it and woke up with my liner as perfect as when I put it on. The only thing that will remove this stuff from the skin is makeup remover. Now for the downsides. This has a brush applicator, which I find a lot harder to work with than a foam tip. I have a harder time creating thin lines and keeping the product near the lash line with brush applicators. Second con, the handle is too long. I prefer shorter handles for more control. Overall, this is a fabulous product. Despite the cons, its the best liquid liner I have found so far. August 15, 2011Really unique and reasonably priced So I purchased Retrograde, and the shade is amazing because its basically standard black with tiny, iridescent purple flecks. They are truly tiny and can only be seen if you look super closely, but look great on green/brown/hazel eyes. I would really recommend this color because its so unique for a high end liquid liner to have a really fun shade selection, but what else would you expect from urban decay? It's really easy to use and the tip is super fine. I also love how you can shake it and it makes that clicking noise (always a plus). This lasts forever, on and in your makeup collection. I've had mine for over two years now. I would recommend that you go into Ulta or Sephora or another place that sells urban decay and try it out on your hand, walk around with it on your hand, and then wash your hands after an hour plus. I guarantee you will see some of it on your hand the next day. Also, test the shades, because retrograde is a great option but the others are great too. If you're like me and you already have a basic black felt-tip liner, getting this one in a unique color is a great idea. Despite how it sounds adventurous, I wear mine every day. You can put it just on your lash line in a tiny tiny line and it gives the most pretty natural effect, or you could go more intense. Finally, I know a lot of you may consider this to be expensive, but if you factor in the size, quality, and the price of other similar products from different companies, it's a really good value at 19.50 or whatever it is. March 6, 2013BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA !!! I was a huge fan of the UD liquid liner in the Genie bottle - so much so that I recommended it to some of my women friends that use liquid eyeliner - 7 that come to mind. My career requires that I travel globally and have very little time to shop, I bought 10 eyeliners at a time (Perversion was my favorite). I always had a few in my suitcase and one in my purse. Well, I just used my last one last week and intended to buy another batch at that well-known retail store, only to find they had replaced it with this pen style and made it waterproof. I, of course, bought one to try it before I committed to my normal 10. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! This eyeliner is just like the cheap waterproof liners you buy in those commercial drugstores. The brush is VERY thin (unlike the previous version which had a thicker, beautiful tapered brush). Most importantly, the formula flakes off every 3 hours forcing reapplication several times a day. It also comes off in pieces when using a makeup remover pad leaving black bits all over my eyes that I have to spend extra time removing with a tissue. I tried to return it but lost the receipt, and they wouldn't take it back. It is not an inexpensive product, and I just had to throw it away. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone. This product is vastly inferior to the previous liquid eyeliner in the Genie bottle. The previous product was the best liquid eyeliner I had ever used and was well worth the price. Bring back the old formula, PLEASE! I am positive that I am not the only one that feels this way. November 2, 2012First and only. I have to immediately confess that I’ve never tried a liquid eyeliner before this one OR since it. I got these in multiple colors: Perversion (black), Revolver (grey), Siren (teal), and El Dorado (gold). I still desperately want Bobby Dazzle (silver) but patience, Iago. I must exercise patience. Due to my lack of experience, I drew some pretty hilarious stripes on my eyes at first. It definitely takes a learned hand to put this on well! I’m still developing skill, but am currently in what I would classify as a good place with application. It’s very liquidy (not gel-like or whatever) and as opaque as the day is long. Apparently some people like to smudge their liquid liner and complain that this isn’t smudge-friendly. I’m not a big smudger. I like nice, crisp lines. But I WOULD agree that this stuff doesn’t like to be played with--it likes to go on and stay on. And when I say “stay on” I mean it, yo. Once it dries, it’s ON. No amount of patting, dabbing, moisture, or wimpy soap is going to get this off. I’m glad because I appreciate staying power and consistency. (In life, too.) But it does take a competitor’s high priced makeup removal balm to get it off! (I really wish they’d let us name these other brands because it would feel more like a community here, y’all.) Anyway, I’m not bothered by how hard to get off it is. I already use other products that take some whittling to remove, but I personally feel like it’s superior to makeup that fades or smears then comes off easily at the end of the day. So as one who is new to liquid liners, I can say I would recommend this for those who feel similarly about the longevity issue! March 5, 201324/7 new liquid eyeliner? is it really 24/7? I have used urban decay for 3 years now. Urban decay's liquid eye-liner is my everyday-must-needed makeup. I will not leave my house without putting on my Urban Decay Perversion liquid eye-liner. No this new liquid eye-liner does not stand up to it's 24/7 title fully. The previous make before this one lasted way longer. When ever the eyelid becomes oily, this eyeliner becomes very sticky to the crease, which feels quite uncomfortable. Compared to the last model, that one didn't feel uncomfortable when it did melt to the crease of the eye-lid. But, I must say, in a way this one does last a bit longer, because it doesn't come off easily. The con, It smears faster than the previous model. I even used it with my Urban Decay Eyeshadow volume 4 set, and it still smears and feels sticky. It also smears when I use the urban decay eyeshadow primer, under the urban decay eyeshadow. I thought it wouldn't smear if i layered eye make-up over each other. All the positive aspects about this is the new compact design that the component comes in. Very slender, and fits easier into my small shoulder bag. The tip of the brush is the main reason why I like the product. This design is two times more effective than the previous model. It is much more efficient in making your cat-eye make up more precise and pointy for the finish touch. The amount of liquid on your brush comes out perfectly after you brush off the excessive amount against the inside head of the case. The color and pigment itself, I feel is stronger than the previous model. I feel its thicker and much more black so that when you apply it, you would only have to do it once, not twice. Which is a time-saver. I really miss the other liquid eye-liner though. I would like to see a better urban decay liquid eye-liner made, only with a more affective pigment and quality. non-smear, and long-lasting. February 28, 2012Richest, blackest, most waterproof-est liner around!! I had wanted to try UD 24/7 w/p liquid liners for a long time and was finally able to pick up Perversion and I am absolutely in LOVE with it. Why? It really is easy to apply. The applicator is a thin brush but you have almost the whole length of the tube as the "brush handle". I have only used gel eyeliners and a felt tip liquid liner. This is by far the easiest liner application I have experienced so far. The fine tip makes it easier to fine tune your cat eye wing :) And I am no cat eye/liner expert. I still consider myself a beginner, especially with true liquid liners, and I am not intimidated at all (anymore) with Perversion liquid liner. Pigmentation. I can honestly say this is the blackest eyeliner I own, hands down. For a really black line I usually grab my gel eyeliner. Although it is also a nice pigmented black, Perversion is just a bit more pigmented and more of a rich black, literally ink for the eyes!! Waterproof and very long lasting!! Literally right after applying the liner it is already set, but after 30 sec or so it's not budging!! They gel eyeliner I mentioned above is know for being very waterproof as well. It is, but to the point where I felt like I was taking off layers of my skin as well as the liner. I wore Perversion to work for a couple of weeks. I work 12-13 hr. shifts, meaning my makeup is on for anywhere from 14-16 hrs. My liner did not move one bit before/during/after work!! That is my ultimate test for a product is if it lasts while I work, it's a keeper. And even after all that time, removing Perversion takes no more effort than removing the rest of my makeup. It also kind of peels off which is kind of neat. My favorite thing to do is also use Perversion as a base and add some glitter liner on top. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I get all kinds of compliments at work whether I wear Perversion by itself or pair with with glitter!! My only regret: I wish I would've gotten some more colors!! I will definitely be repurchasing in the future and I really hope Perversion is here to stay. It has moved to HG status for liquid liners :) February 21, 2012Ask & Answer24/7 644 644This liner is going nowhere I am a liquid liner junkie, so when I came across the new liners for UD, I was excited.
