Perfect Size I got this palette for traveling since it is so tiny and CUTE! I am always afraid to take my Naked or Naked 2 places because I don't want anything to happen to them. So I decided to get this for travel and its perfect! I'm not a huge fan of mattes, but I definitely needed some staple mattes in my collection. Venus is my favorite shade, it looks so pretty on the inner corners. I love faint and naked2 for the crease, sometimes I use them to tone down a really shimmery lid color but still add depth. BEST on the go palette! Naked never ceases to amaze me. The products are the best I've ever had, and when I bought Basics I knew I was going to love it. I absolutely do! I use it every single day for a neutral look, the colors are good enough to use during the day and can be used for a night look too. I carry this with me everywhere, I have NO idea what I would do without it. The pigmentation is amazing and the colors just glide on. Find myself reaching for this palette all the time! The Urban Decay basics palette is defiantly one of my favourite makeup products all time. This mainly all matte colour selection is easy to create a natural eye looks. I find that the eyeshadows are very silky and extremely pigmented. The Black shade; Crave is my favourite black shadow to use as an eye liner, and the champagne shade; Venus is my favourite shadow for the inner corner. The perfect everyday palette. I love this palette. Maybe the colors aren't the most unique but they are certainly perfect for everyday looks,from really soft to more dramatic. Personally, I like the fact that there are more light colors (something that others think is cons). The size is very convinient and great for travelling or to have it in my purse for a touch up. The only thing that i would add, is a brush like the other naked palettes. Ofcourse I don't have to mention the pigmentation,the color pay off and the blendability of the Ub eyeshadows, as they are known for these. Good job UD March 7, 2013
highly-pigmented beautiful matte colors I have been waiting for a matte version of the Naked palette for quite some time now, and am so impressed with the quality of these shadows. They are perfect for everyday use, much like the other Naked palettes, but sometimes a girl wants a little less sparkle, and this palette is the answer to our prayers. They are perfect for wearing to work, and perfect colors to use as a base shadow. You can build the color to wear as light or as dark as you want. This palette is also fun-sized so it is easy for traveling with and carrying around for touch-ups. It has a nice range of colors, ideal for creating an everyday look without having to reach for any other shadows. I would definitely recommend this palette to anyone and everyone! March 5, 2013
Great product but not for darker complexions I was a little put off by how tiny this pallette is, but my main complaint is that the colors just don't work well with my skin color. I will probably give this to my sister, who has a much lighter complexion. Urban Decay is great, and I love my Naked & Naked2 pallettes. BEST PALETTE EVER I got this palette as a Christmas gift and I LOVE it, I have the Naked 1 and 2 and I can honestly say this palette is all you need! It has all the MUST have colors to create any look you can possible think of. Day or Night makeup. The colors are gorgeous and they stay on for the whole day plus some! Naked Basics is a must have for everyone. It is beyond great. I honestly wasn't going to purchase naked basics at first since I already own naked & naked 2 palettes but after hearing so many people raving about this product which are mostly positive, I decided to purchase it. I'm really glad that I had because it had became a part of me for my everyday eye makeup routine. The eye shadows are highly pigmented and not much fall out. I love the size and the design of this tiny palette but it contains the same amount of standard urban decay eye shadows. This will be my repurchase definitely and I will be only relying on this particular eyeshadow palette for my travels. Thank you Urban decay for a fantastic eyeshadow palette. Best for matte! My totally awesome boyfriend got this for me after I complained about not having enough matte eye shadows. I'm in my 30s and am probably a little older than your usual UD user so I am always on the search for more matte over glitter. This one totally pleases. It has colors I'll use everyday and goes on amazingly smooth with a brush. It honestly looks like velvet. So perfect! My only possibly suggestion is PLEASE create more matte palettes! March 5, 2013

Let Down I have both the Naked and the Naked 2 palettes and use them daily (they're seriously perfect for just about everything) so I was dying to get my hands on this palette. I picked up two of these palettes, one for myself and one to give to a friend for the holidays. I was so excited to get my palette and immediately began experimenting with looks after I tore open the packaging (and ran to get a brush from one of my other palettes, seriously, this palette should have come with one). I was pretty disappointed with the result. I have pale skin and the colours just disappeared on my lid. Faint just didn't pack enough of a punch to be considered a crease shade on it's own and overall the colours didn't do it for me without extensive mixing and blending- which I don't mind when I'm perfecting a look for a night out, but for daily makeup and a with a title like "Basics" I expect to be able to whip an look together in a matter of minutes. I will compliment W.O.S., it is the perfect blending shade for neutral looks and I love Venus as a subtle highlight, but this palette doesn't stand on it's own. It's a supplement to the other two Naked palettes, and if that's your expectation I recommend it. December 13, 2012
Finally! A Matte Palette!!!!!! Don't get me wrong- i love sparkly eyeshadows as much as the next girl- but i was so happy when UD came out with Naked Basics!!! I had to buy it right away and i wasn't disappointed. My favorite all-over eyeshadow is Naked 2 because its not too dark and not too light, it gives my eye the perfect shade for every day wear, and if I want to dress it up a bit i add a darker shade following UD's "bride" tutorial. WOW! What a difference matte makes... I have the Naked palette. I have the Naked2 palette. Did I REALLY need the Naked Basics palette? I wasn't sure. I swear, there were dupes in the Naked and Naked2 palettes. Besides, I'm in my mid-thirties. Was I REALLY at the age where I should use start using matte eyeshadows? Would it REALLY make that much of a difference? Apparently the answer to all of those questions was one big YES! What a dfference matte e/s make! Honestly, I didn't think it would, but these e/s are just so flattering! Not only that, but their texture is just dreamy - velvety, easy to blend, they work well together... What more could you ask for? I bought the palette thinking that it probably didn't have anything I didn't already have. Boy, was I wrong! The shadows are so neutral and so easy to work with that I'm really glad that I got it! It's the perfect size for travel or to bring with me to work, and it's actually a multipurpose palette. The shadows work not only for the classic neutral 40s and 50s look, but I can use it on my eyebrows and as an eyeliner as well. With this palette, I truly don't need anything else. Perfect essential This palette is the perfect essential to everyone who uses makeup. From a beginner to a professional. its all the neutral colors one would need in a matte finish. You could use it on its own to create many looks. Or use it with other shades and palettes. it is wonderful to have these 6 colors in one easy to grab palette. The quality of the eye shadows are wonderful. With a buttery feeling signature to Urban Decays quality. I love this palette. I like that it has a good size mirror, not too small and not too big. I also like that it fits in my hand and that i can take it with me in my purse. It truly is an essential piece since all you need is to grab it and go! My fave! I have tons of neutral colors, but I have to say this one is my favorite. I haven't purchased the Naked 1 and 2 palette, primarily because I just can't bring myself to spend the money. So I decided to give this one a try. I'm so glad I did. I love all of the colors. They're all well pigmented and stay on without creasing, and even more so with the primer potion. I do however prefer to use my Blackout eyeshadow as apposed to the Crave that comes in the palette, but if I need to keep my makeup bag to a minimum when I travel this will do nicely! March 9, 2013
Best of both worlds in the palm of your hand! I own both the Naked 1 & 2. I use them religiously but too worried that if I travel with them, that they might open in my purse. When Urban Decay came out with the Basics I was so excited and picked it up right away. It's small enough to bring along with you when you're out and about and snaps shut. It's clear that the shadows are neutral, BUT you can do many types of looks from simple to deep sultry . Overall price is good, shadows are wonderful, and did I mention how wonderful the mirror is? lol. You can't go wrong with this what so ever. March 6, 2013
Wow now I don't usually give products a 5/5 but i can say that ever since I got the naked basics I have actually used all of the colours and the whole pallet every day. The pigmentation is quite nice, and the colour selection is pretty amazing as well...I can create everyday to dramatic looks with this pallet. It is very easy to travel with, its not bulky or big. If you don't wear a lot of glitter eyeshadows or just like neutral eye makeup and don't want to spend money on other pallets that include shades you won't use. I recommend this pallet March 5, 2013
Great little palette for your purse! I love this palette - the colors are nice & fantastic for work and for blending with shades from my other UD palettes. I love that they're matte, because sometimes, shimmery isn't going to work. Quality is awesome, I've been a fan of UD since I bought my first palette last September. There's just the one color, Foxy, that doesn't work with my skin tone, but that's okay, it's bound to happen when you buy a palette. Definitely Worth It I was not initially going to purchase this palette- I have other UD palettes with neutral matte shades in it- but I did end up buying after being encouraged by a sales person. I was more than satisfied! I was shocked just how useful and handy this palette is with ALL looks, not just the new neutral trend. The shades make great bases and are amazing for days when I want to wear bare but stylish shadow. As with all UD shades, they are highly blendable and very pigmented. A Believer in the Basics On UD's Naked Basics palette: I got the Naked Basics palette recently on a whim because I could tell from the variety of shades in it that I could definitely use it for the base of a lot of looks, as I am a lady in favor of the more dramatic eyes approach; however, I decided to simply try out the shades in the palette together in an easy application over some UD Primer Potion just because. I am a believer in the basics now! Who knew that neutral shades could still have so much oomph to them? These shadows glide on like a dream, are richly pigmented, and blend like nobody's business. Best of all, this palette, while plain in appearance, can do so much, from a nearly bare look to a smoldering ultra-black smoky eye; it's really quite versatile. LOVE THE mattes too I am a fan of UD shadows because they come in many different pigmentation. I was not going to buy this one. After buying it, I love it because I can use the shadows to play down the other colors to wear during the day time, where I am not allowed to wear too much color on my eyes. Super velvety, super blendable, long lasting This was my first UD palette and I received it as a christmas gift. I could not wait to try it! It is FANTASTIC for everyday use and the colors are very nice but what is really amazing is how smooth and velvety it is. They apply very easily and beautifully and blending is SO easy! Love this palette! This is the best palette for daily use & to even carry around in your travel make-up bag or to just keep in your purse. The matte eye shadows are very easy to blend & the highlighter is to die for. Literally probably one of my favorite urban decay eye shadows! The price is great in comparison to the Naked 1 and Naked 2 palettes (even though I recommend those as well). I religiously buy Urban Decay palettes! Especially, the Naked collection! Amazing Natural Colors This product is just what I've been looking for. I was thinking about getting either the Naked or Naked 2 palette, but I knew that I would never use all of the colors, and most of it would end up going to waste. When I heard that this came out, I snatched it up as quickly as I could. The colors are amazing. They're all perfect natural shades. They're extremely pigmented and last all day. If Crave is too bold for you like it is for me, you could even use it as an eyeliner because it will most likely stay all day. I also found that Venus was a little too light, but looks amazing over the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. All of the other colors are just different shades of nude that would complement any skin tone. Since these are so pigmented, I don't even need to use an eyeshadow primer, and I can tell that it will still take me a long time to get through this palette, but I will definitely repurchase this when it's gone. I use this almost everyday! I wasn't sure when I first got this eyeshadow palette because there isn't alot of different colors in it, but once I started using it, I can't seem to stop. This palette is an add on to other eyeshadow colors for a transition color or to use alone. You can do SO much with the few colors that this palette has. And it would be perfect for travel. I don't think it is pricey, because eyeshadow lasts for quite awhile. The shadows are smooth with little fall out, if any, and they have great pigmentation! I would purchase this again! March 5, 2013

Would it REALLY make that much of a difference? Apparently the answer to all of those questions was one big YES! What a dfference matte e/s make! Honestly, I didn't think it would, but these e/s are just so flattering! Not only that, but their texture is just dreamy - velvety, easy to blend, they work well together... What more could you ask for? I bought the palette thinking that it probably didn't have anything I didn't already have. Boy, was I wrong! The shadows are so neutral and so easy to work with that I'm really glad that I got it! It's the perfect size for travel or to bring with me to work, and it's actually a multipurpose palette. The shadows work not only for the classic neutral 40s and 50s look, but I can use it on my eyebrows and as an eyeliner as well. With this palette, I truly don't need anything else. Perfect essential This palette is the perfect essential to everyone who uses makeup. From a beginner to a professional. its all the neutral colors one would need in a matte finish. You could use it on its own to create many looks. Or use it with other shades and palettes. it is wonderful to have these 6 colors in one easy to grab palette. The quality of the eye shadows are wonderful. With a buttery feeling signature to Urban Decays quality. I love this palette. I like that it has a good size mirror, not too small and not too big. I also like that it fits in my hand and that i can take it with me in my purse. It truly is an essential piece since all you need is to grab it and go! I love this Pallete Urban Decay this Palette is a home run. I love matte shadows. Some people might think this palette is kinda plain. Please believe me this palette will give you some of the most amazing eye looks you have ever had. I own Naked 1 and the Smoked palette but I really think this palette is my new go to for everyday looks. I cannot stop raving about this palette. Go get it now. I promise you won't be sorry. My fave! I have tons of neutral colors, but I have to say this one is my favorite. I haven't purchased the Naked 1 and 2 palette, primarily because I just can't bring myself to spend the money. So I decided to give this one a try. I'm so glad I did. I love all of the colors. They're all well pigmented and stay on without creasing, and even more so with the primer potion. I do however prefer to use my Blackout eyeshadow as apposed to the Crave that comes in the palette, but if I need to keep my makeup bag to a minimum when I travel this will do nicely! March 9, 2013
Best of both worlds in the palm of your hand! I own both the Naked 1 & 2. I use them religiously but too worried that if I travel with them, that they might open in my purse. When Urban Decay came out with the Basics I was so excited and picked it up right away. It's small enough to bring along with you when you're out and about and snaps shut. It's clear that the shadows are neutral, BUT you can do many types of looks from simple to deep sultry . Overall price is good, shadows are wonderful, and did I mention how wonderful the mirror is? lol. You can't go wrong with this what so ever. March 6, 2013
Wow now I don't usually give products a 5/5 but i can say that ever since I got the naked basics I have actually used all of the colours and the whole pallet every day. The pigmentation is quite nice, and the colour selection is pretty amazing as well...I can create everyday to dramatic looks with this pallet. It is very easy to travel with, its not bulky or big. If you don't wear a lot of glitter eyeshadows or just like neutral eye makeup and don't want to spend money on other pallets that include shades you won't use. I recommend this pallet March 5, 2013
Great little palette for your purse! I love this palette - the colors are nice & fantastic for work and for blending with shades from my other UD palettes. I love that they're matte, because sometimes, shimmery isn't going to work. Quality is awesome, I've been a fan of UD since I bought my first palette last September. There's just the one color, Foxy, that doesn't work with my skin tone, but that's okay, it's bound to happen when you buy a palette. Basically, the only really icky thing is that I have a really freakin' hard time opening the darned thing, pretty much daily. March 5, 2013
Love! I love this palette! It was my answer to Naked and Naked 2! I love all the colors with just the palette itself, and with the Naked and Naked 2 palettes too. It's convient for me to throw in my purse and go when I need it! It's smaller than my Android, [Which is always cute!] It's also easy to use. The packaging is a plus! Definitely Worth It I was not initially going to purchase this palette- I have other UD palettes with neutral matte shades in it- but I did end up buying after being encouraged by a sales person. I was more than satisfied! I was shocked just how useful and handy this palette is with ALL looks, not just the new neutral trend. The shades make great bases and are amazing for days when I want to wear bare but stylish shadow. As with all UD shades, they are highly blendable and very pigmented. A Believer in the Basics On UD's Naked Basics palette: I got the Naked Basics palette recently on a whim because I could tell from the variety of shades in it that I could definitely use it for the base of a lot of looks, as I am a lady in favor of the more dramatic eyes approach; however, I decided to simply try out the shades in the palette together in an easy application over some UD Primer Potion just because. I am a believer in the basics now! Who knew that neutral shades could still have so much oomph to them? These shadows glide on like a dream, are richly pigmented, and blend like nobody's business. Best of all, this palette, while plain in appearance, can do so much, from a nearly bare look to a smoldering ultra-black smoky eye; it's really quite versatile. I think that after trying the Naked Basics palette and liking it so much, I may just have to pick up a Naked palette as well. Thank you, UD, for creating such a lovely product! December 29, 2012
LOVE THE mattes too I am a fan of UD shadows because they come in many different pigmentation. I was not going to buy this one. After buying it, I love it because I can use the shadows to play down the other colors to wear during the day time, where I am not allowed to wear too much color on my eyes. Super velvety, super blendable, long lasting This was my first UD palette and I received it as a christmas gift. I could not wait to try it! It is FANTASTIC for everyday use and the colors are very nice but what is really amazing is how smooth and velvety it is. They apply very easily and beautifully and blending is SO easy! Love this palette! This is the best palette for daily use & to even carry around in your travel make-up bag or to just keep in your purse. The matte eye shadows are very easy to blend & the highlighter is to die for. Literally probably one of my favorite urban decay eye shadows! The price is great in comparison to the Naked 1 and Naked 2 palettes (even though I recommend those as well). I religiously buy Urban Decay palettes! Especially, the Naked collection! Out of all the gorgeous mattes they used to have they come up with this un needed add on to the naked pallettes...the naked pallettes are great, own and love them both but we didnt need these boring shades, how about giving us some vibrant mattes instead of these lack lustre uninspiring ones... Amazing Natural Colors This product is just what I've been looking for. I was thinking about getting either the Naked or Naked 2 palette, but I knew that I would never use all of the colors, and most of it would end up going to waste. When I heard that this came out, I snatched it up as quickly as I could. The colors are amazing. They're all perfect natural shades. They're extremely pigmented and last all day. If Crave is too bold for you like it is for me, you could even use it as an eyeliner because it will most likely stay all day. I also found that Venus was a little too light, but looks amazing over the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. All of the other colors are just different shades of nude that would complement any skin tone. Since these are so pigmented, I don't even need to use an eyeshadow primer, and I can tell that it will still take me a long time to get through this palette, but I will definitely repurchase this when it's gone. I use this almost everyday! I wasn't sure when I first got this eyeshadow palette because there isn't alot of different colors in it, but once I started using it, I can't seem to stop. This palette is an add on to other eyeshadow colors for a transition color or to use alone. You can do SO much with the few colors that this palette has. And it would be perfect for travel. I don't think it is pricey, because eyeshadow lasts for quite awhile. The shadows are smooth with little fall out, if any, and they have great pigmentation! I would purchase this again! March 5, 2013
