When I first started out with make up, I approached the UD counter at my local Sephora and I was amazed at the great eyeshadow color selection and its edgy packaging. I was a little skeptical about it at first because some items were pretty pricey and I felt like I might be paying for ONLY packaging and no quality. And I was terribly wrong when I stretched my fingers out to test the color payoff. I was definitely amazed. I merely swept my finger on the eyeshadow pot with the slightest pressure but when I got a good look at it, it seemed as though I had scrubbed my finger in the color. The pigments are just THAT good. I bought my first ever Urban Decay eye-shadow that day, Midnight Cowboy Rides Again. It is an amazing glittery beige-y color that works really well as a base for a simple look topped with just brown eyeliner and mascara, and is also a great base for brown smokey eyes. As the years passed, I built up a fairly large collection of UD eye-shadows just because I knew I wasn't just paying for the beautiful packaging, but also the amazing quality. Urban Decay eye-shadows to me are the easiest to use in the market, topping many other well-known and high-end brands. It slides on super smoothly and blends so easily! They are definitely a must-have if you are looking for effortless application (really, it slides right on. Smoother than honey), gorgeous colors and great color payoff. Some of my current favorite colors are: Midnight Cowboy rides again, Midnight Cowgirl, Uzi, Maui Wowie, Kush, Loaded, Psychedelic Sister, Snatch, Smog, Baked and Twice Baked. I found out about these shadows through their Facebook page and all over the internet. Instantly, I'm in love. I bought the build your own palette along with the different eyeshadows and it's incredible! The colors are creamy, easy to apply, and they stays throughout the day. Overall, I have nothing to complain about. Completely satisfied and I'm craving for more! September 29, 2012AMAZING! I LOVE LOVE LOVE UD eyeshadows- they are by far the best! I ordered 4 and I want more! They are so amazing and I love them! They are so easy to work with and so pigmented! I love the new design! April 1, 2012Great Eye Shadow So I own this eyeshadow in three different colors. Psychedelic sister, Blunt and Oil Slick. All three are wonderful colors and pigment. The coverage is great. They go on super easy and I don't have to use a lot to cover my lids. They last a long time as well and if anything I'd complain that they're sort of a hassle to get off at the end of the day. They also blend well together. I enjoy mixing Psychedelic sister on half my lids with Oil Slick and even though Oil Slick is really dark and dense it' doesn't over power the purple of Psychedelic sister. March 6, 2013Disappointed; like old formula better UD still has beautiful colors to choose from, although the ones with the same name still look a little different. However, the disappointment lies in the formula itself. You can almost blow off all of the eyeshadow after applying it to the dorsum of your hand while testing it out, much less try to apply it to your eyelid. It certainly is more "velvety" - you can easily sweep it up off of the palette & onto your brush, but then you can very easily sweep it (or blow it) off. Highly pigmented, but doesn't last like their previous version. A suggestion for the future - design a carrier to hold the entire unit so that one should not have to pop the inner tray out; it's not easy to pop out and you risk damaging an expensive eyeshadow product. Plus, that way, one can make use of the older units as well. September 7, 2012Beautiful colors and finishes I love the new formula. Mattes and satins are creamy and smooth, shimmers don't have as much fallout as older shades. As always, the color payoff for all of the shades I have tried is amazing! I would recommend Urban Decay eyeshadows to anyone. The new packaging is phenomenal as well. It's much easier to pop out the shades and put them into a new palette, and the packaging. Walk of Shame is my current favorite shade, although I think it's only available with the six pan build your own palette. March 13, 2013The never ending colors!!!! These colors are the best color pay off ever! The pigment is better than some of the top selling over priced brands! I have built several pallets and I use those colors on a everyday basis even when I'm getting dressed up for the night! There are so many different colors to choose from and some of the same similar colors in my favorite naked pallets. You really can't beat these flawless colors! The new formula goes on even smoother and richer, if that's possible, and the word "velvety" that UD uses in its description is exactly right. I love the new cases, and that I can pop them out to stick in the new palette! So far I've tried Freelove and Scratch, and they are so gorgeous to blend together! August 9, 2012Amazing Color Payoff! The individual eyeshadow pots are amazing. They are easy to put into your makeup pouch for on the go. The color payoff is amazing and it lasts throughout my gym class almost perfectly intact, even without eyeshadow primer. If your on a tight budget I would recommend buying these when they have a deal or just getting them in palettes, (the six eyeshadow pan deal is pretty good.) as they are expensive. They are a breeze to blend onto your eyelid and have barely and fallout for me. The color itself is always vibrant and I love these to death! March 11, 2013SINfully Delicious Hands down the best eyeshadow in the market these days. The color & finish varieties are endless & extensive their is something for everybody's shadow pallate. They are very pigmented that just a few swipe is all you need. Im actually in love with SIN, a silky soft neutral shade that is easy to pull off & very wearable, perfect for that everyday look. It can even last without the eye primer but since i have oily skin I prep it up with Potion. As I've said in my other reviews, albeit a little steep with the price but its worth the splurge! April 19, 2012Kind of disappointed... I bought several of the single eyeshadow pots when UD was having a sale. I have to say that I don't think they should be as expensive as they are given the quality. You have to use a lot to get a decent amount of pigment on and it creases really badly after a few hours. You can avoid that by using eyeshadow primer potion first, but I've used shadows from the drugstore that cost $4 that didn't crease even without primer. I love the colors; I just wish they lasted longer. Some of my favorites are toasted, uncut, asphyxia, and maui wowie. March 5, 2013Excellent Eyeshadows! I have been a fan of UD for many years now and I have always been a fan of their eyeshadows. I used to use an amazing Urban Decay palette trio and I fell in love with the shadows. They have so many choices of shadow colors to choose from as well! There's a HUGE selection of colors(and they're adding more, yay!), many unique colors that you can't find duplicates of in other brands, they go on exceptionally smoothly and blend to perfection, and with primer they stay put all day long. I've worn these things with a good primer underneath for over 16 hours before, and they didn't budge a bit. UD by far has my favorite texture of eyeshadows EVER. So much so that they're the only eyeshadow I currently own - I tossed everything else out. March 5, 2013UD's Eyeshadows Really Deserve 5 Stars Across the Board Seriously. Every single category of product rating for UD's eyeshadows deserve 5 stars. I have always used UD eyeshadows, but never really became hooked until a few years ago. UD's shadows are EXTREMELY consistent in that every single color's pigmentation is super deep and vibrant, no matter what the finish of the eyeshadow is. The color selection is wide and beautiful, from classic "Naked" colors to bright hues and darker, sultry colors for nights out. I love, love, love Urban Decay eyeshadow and I honestly don't see any need for any other eyeshadow in my life. I'm definitely going to take advantage of the free 6-pan eyeshadow palette with any two eyeshadow purchases deal ... I really need to start bringing more order to my collection of UD shadows. March 12, 2013Good investment, outperforms competitors These are my favorite eye shadows. I've been a loyal customer of MAC, Makeup Forever, Lorac, etc, however these shadows outscore all other brands on the following components: texture, wear-ability, versatility, and variety. I have this shadow in colours ranging from neutrals to brights (pinks, blues, greens, violets). I've never come across another brand whose shadows have lasted 12+ hours on me even with the use of a primer. Also, I get the most use of all of my shadows by pairing brights with neutrals. Definitely worth the money. August 7, 2012Best shadows EVER! I absolutely love UD shadows! They're so easy to use, and apply like a dream. I used to be a MAC junkie, and I still am. But their shadows don't compare to UD! I have every pallete from UD and I can't pick a fav.. the only thing I wish, would be if UD made more matte, colors! Don't get me wrong, I love me some glimmer, and shimmer! But a few matte would be awesome :) July 16, 2012Love these shadows! Each color is incredibly beautiful and has great pigmentation. They all glide on so smoothly and I don't feel like I have to sit and blend away for ever! The lasting power is pretty awesome too, and coming from someone with super oily eyelids that's saying something! And of course... I ADORE the packaging! Its super cute and I love the way the shadows pop out. And even though they do pop out, I never feel like the insert is going to fly of the case. Even so, I'm a little sad that just the pan doesn't come out. Although this is definitely a spot in the depotting direction, that build-your-own palette set is pretty bulky. Lastly, these are generally pretty pricey... but I suppose they are worth it. I guess my collection will have to expand pretty slowly! March 6, 2013Love it! I have used Urban Decay makeup for quite awhile and I love all of it, so I finally decided to try an eyeshadow. I am a vegan nurse with sensitive eyes, and I am very happy to find eye makeup that is both cruelty and irritation free. I bought the eyeshadow in the color Half Baked, which provides a subtle color and shimmer without being overwhelming. I wore the shadow with Urban Decay primer and it lasted over 12 hours without any sign of fading or creasing. In short, I LOVE this eyeshadow and plan on purchasing more in the future. The pigment is so high for a regular eye shadow that I don't have to waste my time packing on layer after layer to get the desired color that is shown in the container. That fact alone is beyond appreciated from someone who has tried about every eyeshadow brand known to man. UD eyeshadow is and will always be my "go to" shadow and I tell everyone it should be theirs to. Thanks UD! April 16, 2012Extreme Pigment! I purchased this product in several different shades (Woodstock, Psychedelic Sister, Haight, Bust, Bender, and Loaded) and was very impressed by the incredibly high pigment payoff. Not only was I able to use less product to get the look I desired, but it lasted all day and well into the evening. This is by far the best quality eyeshadows I have ever purchased and something I will definitely continue to purchase in the future! Plus, I love the idea of building your own palettes with the new pop out packaging...great for travel! January 10, 2013Started my eyeshadow addiction I love these shadows. There really isn't a simpler way to put it. They are soft, pigmented, and last forever. I especially love that you can remove them from their little pots and put them into customizable palettes (of which I have three). That makes it especially handy for trips because I can create a shade range that will create a number of looks without having to carry around ten loose eyeshadow pots. The only downside that I see with these is the glitter shadows tend to have a large amount of fallout. I love Midnight Cowgirl but I have to use a sticky base or else I end up with a ton of glitter fallout all over my face, and since I am not a pixie (sadly) I can't go out into public with my face all sparkly. Other than that these are a wonderful product. March 5, 2013My favorite eyeshadows Urban Decay has always been my favorite brand of eye shadow, and the new formulas are definitely outstanding. They provide the perfect amount of silkiness, they are in no way chalky and that makes application very easy. You will not find a shade that isn't pigmented, they all have amazing color. The only complaints I have about UD eye shadows is that the glitter eye shadows, mainly Half Baked, has chunks of glitter that cause a lot of fall out. Of course, they are somewhat pricey but they are worth it for the product you get. March 9, 2013Definite improvement Love the new shadow formula! Didn't know how UD could improve an already great product, but they did! It's so smooth it's almost like a cream. Bummed out some of my favorite shades are retired, but glad there was a recommended replacement chart. I love the whole smokey eye look,as a girl with a fairer compection not all colour suit me and offten my partener says i look like a panda with my eyes. Not with UD they have such a good range of colours suiting all skin tones and whats more they bought out a 'build ur own pallet' this year which i love as most put together pallets always have colour that are to dark for me. Ive tried them all MAC, bare mineral, benefit ect and these are the best out of them all!!! September 13, 2012Depends on the type, I think. I mostly purchased either matte or duotone colors. The matte shades are great. Good pigment, and they just go on smoothly, The duotones look like they're awesome colors, but once you put them on, they're just too light to see. I picked a lot of bright shades, but no matter what I do, the color just doesn't show up the way I wanted or expected. April 17, 2012hooked until now i sticked to the pallets of UD but since i had some cash to burn decided to go for this precious shadows for a change. i love the packaging even though i was a little disappointed that it wasn't metal but plastic.. the shadow is so easy to put on and makes your eyes look amazing, so tomorrow i'm of to the store to buy more of these! August 9, 2012mostly satisfied of all the seven new formula shadows i got i returned one. foxy, even with the primer it blows right off, and even the slightest touch of my makeup brush swept up an enormous mound of powder from the container that i wouldnt be able to use on my eye. so it was a kind of waste. other than that i am in love with all the shadows i have this far. October 8, 2012Great pigmentation, but shatters too easily. I got mushroom and it's a great color. The pigmentation is great and so soft and easy to use. My only complaint is that it shatters so easily. I know it's because it's highly pigmented, but It's always a shame when I'm trying to put on my makeup and it just accidentally falls and it's just wasted. Especially since it was expensive. Now, I purchase single eye shadow tins of my favorites and use them every day. My favorite shade is YDK. It is a nice color to use everyday, to add a little depth to your eyelids! I purchased this product in several different shades (Woodstock, Psychedelic Sister, Haight, Bust, Bender, and Loaded) and was very impressed by the incredibly high pigment payoff. Not only was I able to use less product to get the look I desired, but it lasted all day and well into the evening. This is by far the best quality eyeshadows I have ever purchased and something I will definitely continue to purchase in the future! Plus, I love the idea of building your own palettes with the new pop out packaging...great for travel! January 10, 2013Started my eyeshadow addiction I love these shadows. There really isn't a simpler way to put it. They are soft, pigmented, and last forever. I especially love that you can remove them from their little pots and put them into customizable palettes (of which I have three). That makes it especially handy for trips because I can create a shade range that will create a number of looks without having to carry around ten loose eyeshadow pots. The only downside that I see with these is the glitter shadows tend to have a large amount of fallout. I love Midnight Cowgirl but I have to use a sticky base or else I end up with a ton of glitter fallout all over my face, and since I am not a pixie (sadly) I can't go out into public with my face all sparkly. Other than that these are a wonderful product. March 5, 2013My favorite eyeshadows Urban Decay has always been my favorite brand of eye shadow, and the new formulas are definitely outstanding. They provide the perfect amount of silkiness, they are in no way chalky and that makes application very easy. You will not find a shade that isn't pigmented, they all have amazing color. The only complaints I have about UD eye shadows is that the glitter eye shadows, mainly Half Baked, has chunks of glitter that cause a lot of fall out. The matte shades are great. Good pigment, and they just go on smoothly, The duotones look like they're awesome colors, but once you put them on, they're just too light to see. I picked a lot of bright shades, but no matter what I do, the color just doesn't show up the way I wanted or expected. August 9, 2012mostly satisfied of all the seven new formula shadows i got i returned one. foxy, even with the primer it blows right off, and even the slightest touch of my makeup brush swept up an enormous mound of powder from the container that i wouldnt be able to use on my eye. so it was a kind of waste. other than that i am in love with all the shadows i have this far. October 8, 2012Great pigmentation, but shatters too easily. I got mushroom and it's a great color. The pigmentation is great and so soft and easy to use. My only complaint is that it shatters so easily. I know it's because it's highly pigmented, but It's always a shame when I'm trying to put on my makeup and it just accidentally falls and it's just wasted. Especially since it was expensive.
