10.0Ratings SummaryNaked Skin 689 689Naked Skin Foundation I usually use a powder foundation because of my extremely oily skin. This winter has really wreaked havoc on my skin, so I just had to try this product out based on my really positive experiences with Urban Decay products. I found a perfect match for my skin tone in 4.0, and I usually have difficulty finding a good match with other foundations. I use Urban Decay primer under it and if I am having an issue with dry patches, I use Naked Skin Beauty Balm over the primer prior to my application of Naked Skin foundation. I love the feel of it on my skin, and I find the more I use it, the better my skin feels. It doesn't settle into my fine lines, it makes my pores almost invisible, it doesn't oxidize into a weird color due to my oily skin, and when I have dry patches, it doesn't emphasize them. I love how natural the finish is, and it feels really great on my skin. It looks so natural as well. I apply it with my Urban Decay Optical Blurring Brush, and I don't have to use a lot of product to get the look I want to achieve. It feels so light on my skin and I have found that it is a perfect product for my needs. The finish is so natural looking and it is so pigmented that I don't need very much product to give me the look I like. March 5, 2013Smooth like Butter! Im 42 and I love it! Smooth, light and excellent coverage. August 7, 2012Naked never looked so good I've never been much of a liquid foundation girl, but I decided to give this a shot since I'm addicted to Urban Decay. As usual with UD, I was not disappointed. The range of shades to choose from is pretty expansive, and the card that came with my sample helped me find the right shade without my ever having to leave my bathroom. I never feel like I'm wearing a full face of makeup when I have this on, which was always a turnoff for me when it came to foundation. I work at a hair salon, so the fact that my makeup is on after getting sprayed in the face all day with water is always a plus; and, if I need to refresh my makeup to go out after a long day of work, I can dust on my Surreal Skin Mineral Powder and it doesn't look cakey or anything. And boy does this product LAST. I've been using it pretty much every day for about 6 months and still haven't run out yet. I did take off a little for quality, only because I feel like the product itself is lasting longer than the packaging! The cap has started to crack, and another piece around the pump is starting to come apart, and I leave this upright in my medicine cabinet, so it's not getting bumped around in my makeup bag like my other products. Otherwise though, a fantastic product!! March 13, 2013LOVE IT! I heard so many great reviews about this product through Urban Decay's FB site, so I wanted to try it myself. I finally got myself to go into Macy's to check out the Urban Decay counter and the lady helping me was so helpful and friendly! I'm not someone that's used too many foundations in the past, but I've used enough to have been hooked onto Naked Skin. Prior to, I've been switching off between Bare Minerals and Urban Decay Surreal Skin Cream to Powder, but the look never really made me love it. With Naked Skin, I can actually say it gives full coverage to my eye bags and acne scars from my adolescent years. Considering I absolutely HATE liquid foundation, this says a lot. The reason why I've always hated it was because it made my face feel dirty and heavy while wearing it and by the end of the day, I was always so greasy that it looked like my face would just melt off. This is not the case with this foundation though! It feels so lightweight like an airbrushed application and I can't even tell I'm wearing it. I also don't need more than one pump of this stuff! One pump is plenty! I definitely recommend this product to everyone! You won't be disappointed! Did I mention it looks as if you're not even wearing foundation?? (: August 7, 2012nice Light with good coverage. Doesn't make me dry or oily March 6, 2013Love Naked Skin This is a great foundation! Love this stuff!!!!!!! March 6, 2013Best foundation I've ever used! I know it may be too soon since I just got this and just started using it but I'm in love with Naked Skin! I've tried other foundations such as drugstore products to a few high-end products and gave up for a while but when I decided to try looking for a good foundation again when I was shopping with my sister that's when I stumbled upon the Naked Skin when I was in Sephora. I asked the girl to try looking for a shade that matches my skin tone and if she can try it on me. And well, well, well! I got my perfect shade! I have a very "golden" undertone in which some brands don't have, so I was very happy when I saw the foundation matched my skin tone. As soon as I bought it, I tried it on to see what it was like over time. I did notice my nose becoming shiny and oily but then again it's always been like that so I just use blotting paper or powder it a little bit. I just love the demi-matte finish it gives! I hate getting a cake-y face or a shiny face from foundations. This just gives me that natural look and I love it! I also love the pump. Just a pump and a half is good enough to cover my whole face. The packaging also looks sleek and pretty. :) I'm just so in love with this product that I will repurchase it as soon as I run out of it! August 7, 2012I was going to return it. Really. I bought this sort of on accident. It was an impulse buy during the spend $50/get $50 promotion, and I needed new concealer, so ... I bought it, and instantly had shopper's remorse. I intended to return it, planned on it, along with everything else. Except then it came, and some of the promotional items included my favorite eye shadow color from the Naked palette and the mascara. Fine, I'll keep the $40 foundation. Whatever. Except I love it. I have fair skin and an oily T-zone with dry spots around my mouth/elsewhere. I live in a four-seasons climate, and purchasing this happened to coincide with my boyfriend's doctorate graduation -- read: Tears and moving. The makeup lasted through ALL that, didn't rub off onto anyone during hugs (a MAJOR pet peeve) and still looked presentable after 6 hours of packing his apartment (and, ahem, more tears) in 80-ish degree weather with humidity and lots of cleaning supplies. One pump of the stuff gets my whole face, it lasts for hours and blends and applies beautifully and easily. Fine. Hook me on $40 foundation, UD. Whatever. It's worth adding that the only eye makeup this former makeup addict ever uses anymore is the Naked Palette ... combined with the primer and the setting spray, it also lasts forever, through the tears and moving and heat and wind and rain and snow. I live in Idaho; I KNOW WEATHER. May 13, 2013Weightless coverage Once again, Urban Decay has made an awesome product. This foundation is so light weight and easy to blend, any makeup rookie could use it. There is a very large range of colors, so you can find your perfect color. Your skin truly feels naked under this weightless silky foundation. Another thing I love about this foundation is the ingredient list. This foundation is formulated with some great ingredients for your skin. It has matrixyl 3000 for anti-aging, green tea for anti-oxidants, and sodium hyaluonate for moisture. Just the kind of multi- tasking product I love! As an added bonus this foundation is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and other ingredients that's its best to avoid. Remember, your skin is your largest organ, so treat it right with superior ingredients, like the ones found in this foundation. The only negatives about this product, and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't contain sunscreen. This problem is easily fixed by applying sunscreen before you put on your foundation. Also, after applying the foundation, in my chin area only, the foundation separates and looks dotty. Its hard to explain and again, this is only in my chin area. I don't know if it is due to the oils on my skin there but after an hour or so spots or dots form and I have to re-blend. Everywhere else it remains a nice airbrushed look. February 3, 2013Simply Amazing! I used to use Urban Defense in Bodyguard and I finally ran out so I decided to try Naked Skin. I asked the beauty consultant at the store to help me find my perfect shade and we decided on 3.0. I was somewhat skeptical because the shade was so much lighter then what I usually used, but the consultant assured me that if, when I got home, it did not match, I could bring it back and she would help me find a shade that would be better suited for my skin tone. It turned out that 3.0 was the absolute best shade. My skin looked practically flawless and the only way I could tell I was wearing it was because the spots that were normally oily in the middle of the day were balanced and oil-free. I have pesky combination skin so I decided to mix my moisturizer and foundation. I found this was the best way to apply it for my specific skin needs. The best advice I can give for anyone wanting to try Naked Skin is to go ahead and ask the local beauty consultant. They will work to match you with the absolute perfect shade. Next, if you have combination or dry skin, try mixing your moisturizer with the foundation because it is somewhat drying, but it will keep your face balanced and relatively oil-free. And the final piece of advice: a little goes a long way! You only need a little drop of this amazing foundation. So, go ahead and find your Naked Skin! You won't regret it. September 16, 2012Holy Grail I have been wearing this foundation for around four months now. I have medium tannish skin and I wear the 4.0 shade. My skin: overall good, some annoying redness in my cheeks and the occasional breakout. Combination but can get oily. How I apply: I bought the Good Karma optical blurring brush with my Naked foundation, and I have never used a better foundation brush. It's thick and dense, and it's shaped almost like a beauty blender (though it is a regular brush) in terms of how it fits the contours of my face. I apply a pump or two, depending on the coverage I want, to the back of my hand. I dab the brush in, stipple it onto my face, and blend. Then I apply concealer, etc. I have had a friend watch me apply this and as she's watching her jaw literally dropped and she asked me if that was really foundation. In her words, "It looks like your real skin!" It DOES NOT look like I'm wearing foundation, even with two pumps (which is what the lady at the Macy's counter said would be "heavy" coverage) It doesn't oxidize or change color throughout the day, it's a perfect match to my skin, it's never broken me out, it smells nice, it feels and looks like wearing nothing. It covers everything I need it to, and it does give me that photoshopped, airbrushed look. It does everything it says it will and more. I can't say enough good things!! I will be using this for a long, long time. December 19, 2012It's true, this stuff rocks! I'm a makeup junkie you could say, so I have used a ton of high end foundations of many brands. This one ranks right up at the top. I love the weightless feel, the medium buildable coverage, the color, and I really like that is has excellent anti-aging peptide ingredients. My skin is about as fair as it gets, combination, a bit uneven tone with redness. I chose the lightest shade and it is perfect for me, I have slight pink undertones, this has a somewhat neutral tone that minimizes the redness. When summer comes I think a little bronzer will darken it just enough. I also bought the bb after trying a sample, and it goes really well with this, I use it as the primer underneath with great results. I recommend using them together for a really nice finish, but even alone or with regular primer this makeup still looked good. I apply with the optical blurring good karma brush, I also recommend getting this for best application. This formula should work well for most skin types, I think a lot of people would love this. They have some makeup setting sprays if you were concerned about it lasting all day, but I have had no issues with that- once set with finishing powder is lasted all day for me. Overall a great product, I am so glad I decided to get this. I recently tried several foundations and was unhappy with all of them and finally my search has ended with this one. Give it a try! March 7, 2013I have never been more excited about a product... Let me just start by saying a few months ago I had stopped wearing foundation because I just couldn't find one that I was happy with. Then just in time for my 40th! birthday UD came out with Naked Skin. Wow is an understatement for this foundation! The two main reasons I wanted to try this foundation is because it is supposed to be "weightless" with a "flawless finish"......two things I think most people are looking for. Well, this product definitely lives up to it's description! It feels like there is nothing on my skin and the coverage is amazing. This is what I experienced / love about this foundation: - It has a pump dispenser, and I only need 1 pump for my whole face. - The consistency is smooth and not thick like most foundations. - I use the Good Karma foundation brush to apply this foundation and it really dos seem to "blur" imperfections. My face looks flawless! - It doesn't settle in fine lines like a lot of foundations do. - It lasts all day......ALL day! - I have oily skin and with this foundation my skin doesn't look oily, only nice and dewy. It also seems like in the winter when my skin is a little drier that it will be good. - Lightweight - I can't stand how foundation can sometimes feel cakey....I can't even feel this foundation. - It's oil/paraben/fragrance free! Every day when I put this foundation on I am shocked at how flawless my skin looks. Thank You UD for making another great product. August 7, 2012The best if done correctly I have tried literally every foundation out there (Guerlain, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Lancome, Laura Mercier, Mac, Nars, MUFE, hourglass, Origins... must i continue?) while there are very good foundations out there, I have never had to use so little foundation before ever in my life oh and I DIDN'T use a Primer or Powder or Concealer which I normally always do! I literally only used a moisturizer underneath (by Paula's choice). i have very oily skin but i still believe in moisturizer. Anywho, I have acne scaring and that's pretty much it. I know it sounds easy to cover but it is not at all ive tried a million concealers and its just annoying to have to do so many steps. Alas, Urban Decay Naked Skin. I used about one-two small pumps not full pumps over the entire face. Tip: use small amounts at a time dont stiple in all at once then blend i found it easirr to put a little bit on my foudation brush and work on the areas of scarring first then add more as needed but work with a little at a time. Then once the redness and scaring was covered i found i didnt have to use much for the rest of my face because it was very seamless this foundation i color matched and applied correctly lasts a long time, wont break you out (hopefully, and looks very nice on the skin! I personally believe in minimal amount of makeup to just look like a better you so this really does the trick if you need some coverage and something that makes you look less dull. Love this foundation. Doesn't have that annoying gray cast to it either :) March 7, 2013love that it gives coverage & feels like skin! I just recently switched back to wearing foundation instead of my beloved tinted moisturizers and was attracted to UD's Naked Skin because of the texture and coverage. I did not want a heavy foundation, but I wanted more coverage than my typical tinted moisturizers were giving me. I really think this is a great option if that's what you're looking for. Personally, I think the color selections are great for this foundation (I use 1.0) and almost anyone can find a great match, especially since this foundation isn't as dense and some of your natural skin tone can shine through. I like this foundation a lot because it's pretty lightweight and very blendable. I also like the formula because it's smooth to apply and is a nice, demi-matte; not too dewy but not starkly matte. I know I'm probably buying into the marketing gimmick but I truly believe pairing this with UD's Good Karma foundation brush (meant to be used with Naked), gives the best application and finish. It really helps to blur out imperfections and makes my skin look smooth and radiant. Which is always a plus, right? ;) As for wear time, I find it to be about average. I use this over moisturizer and primer and under setting powder. Sometimes I do have to blot my face a little after about 4-6 hours but, then again, I do live in the South! I also like the packaging this comes in and find that this foundation goes a longgg way for me. I generally use one gentle pump for my whole face. If you're looking for a heavy, full coverage foundation than this probably isn't for you. But if you are wanting some lightweight coverage to smooth out your skin, I'd definitely recommend this! March 11, 2013My Favorite Foundation Ever (And I Have Tried Countless Foundations ...) When Urban Decay first came out with their Naked Skin foundation the whole idea didn't instantly appeal to me. I'm one of those people who definitely think "less is more" with makeup, but I also want my foundation to LOOK like foundation when I wear it ... but not too makeup-y at the same time (does that even make sense?) Well, it turns out that UD's Naked Skin actually is that perfect foundation that provides full coverage, doesn't look heavy at all and enhances your skin leaving it with a gorgeous almost-glowing effect. I have had very good ("normal") skin my whole life, and UD's Naked Skin foundation completely enhances my Naked skin, but don't let the name fool you. This foundation absolutely positively provides full coverage for those like me who have "normal" skin. It blurs imperfections and provides an even, flawless finish. At first I thought the product would be way too light, almost like a sheer tinted foundation, but it's not like that at all. I have tried countless foundations and this one is my absolute favorite. It honestly is unlike any other foundation that's on the market. And not only does it do foundation-y things for your skin (it blurs imperfections seamlessly), but it also contains good-for-you ingredients and actually leaves your skin with this lit-from-within glow (not a shimmer ... a natural, subtle glow). It also comes in 18 colors, which I think makes it one of the only foundations on the market with such a wide range of shades. I am not sure if this product would work as well for someone who doesn't have "normal" skin and has issues with breakouts, discoloration, etc., but it works wonders for me and I don't see myself switching up foundations any time soon. March 12, 2013A good foundation. More and more I've been going with foundations that are subtle on the skin. I don't like full coverage ones because they can be overly matte and cakey looking. It's just sometimes difficult to find a lightweight foundation that evens skin tone, takes away redness and neutralizes pores. I think this foundation does fairly well on those fronts. When I first got it, I decided to test it to see how effective it is on its own instead of using concealer first. I noticed right away that it neutralized redness and for the most part my pores. You still need concealer if you have a lot of problem areas, but I was impressed with what it did take away from. It also gave a more glowy appearance to my skin, albeit perhaps being a little light for my tone. I'm light with a yellow/golden undertone, so I chose shade 3.0. I do think it's a tad bit light for my tone, but it's nothing super noticeable and that couldn't be fixed by adding blush and bronzer (both of which I do anyway). And I do find because of the glow it doesn't make me look washed out. I like that you can barely feel it once it's on and it's buildable without looking like you've slapped a lot of product on your face. This foundation actually reminds me a lot of a former HG foundation I found a while ago that was unfortunately discontinued. </3 The main difference is that one was much cheaper. I am not complaining about the price, though. UD is a mid-high end brand and you get what you pay for. My only complaints are I noticed that toward the end of the day it starts to settle a bit in my pores. It doesn't make them noticeable to others, but I notice when looking in the mirror. I also tend to get shiny after most of the day, but then again a lot of foundations fade out a bit in oily areas. Other than that, it's a good product. You get a lot of foundation for the price. March 5, 2013BY far thee Best Foundation EVER!!! I literally hate foundation. I hate that its messy, it usually takes a while to apply and blend, I hate that most are not compact and easy to carry around. Im really the type of girl that is usually rushing to get dressed in the morning so I tend to lean towards compact foundations. I went in to Urban Decay - Brea to stock up on foundation and my go to Urban decay artist (evette) recommended Naked Foundation. She tried it on me and I loved it!! I love the fact that you all provided a range of shades. Not only do you have standard skin tones but the tones in between. I usually have to go a shade darker and lighten it with the mineral powder so my skin looks like an even color. I was surprised to see that the foundation she used matched perfectly and blended with my neck so well. --Definate GOLD STAR! **** I love that you literally feel naked. Your face feels as if your not wearing foundation. I have very oily skin so most liquid foundations usually make me breakout because they are so heavy. They feel caked on and make you look like it. I love that I literally feel flawless. My face feels so smooth, light, with full coverage. It covers my blemishes well and it literally stays on all day. -- Another GOLD STAR **** I also love that there is no mess!! The bottle of the foundation is so lightweight and comes in a pump bottle. Its so awesome! The bottle is lightweight and easy to travel with. I dont have to worry of it possibly opening in my purse. I bought the Opitcal Blurry Brush along with the foundation <---(MUST BUY).. I literally use one pump of foundation on the brush and brush the foundation on my face until its fully blended. The blurrying brush blends so well and helps give you the airbrush affect. Not only that but the foundation is going to last for months! I literally only use one pump to cover my entire face per day. Evette told me it could last you up to 8 months! Thats literally less than $5 of full coverage per month! Its such a great investment! Definate GOLD STAR********* I absolutely love this product! I've gotten so many compliments on how fresh and smooth my make up/face look now. I recommend this product to everyone! August 7, 2012HG foundation; eureka! At last, the search for my perfect, skin nourishing, airbrush, oil-free, paraben free, & natural looking foundation is found! I have tried many spectrums of foundations from drug stores to high end (cream, liquid, gel, moose, powder, etc). Some have came close to my desired expectations, but NONE have fulfilled my sensitive, extremely oily, and ace prone skin. UD's naked liquid foundation is truly an amazing ground breaking foundation. The quality is phenomenal and the ingredients used is critically well formulated. Not only does this foundation achieve a flawless, natural, and airbrushed looking complexion, it is also incredibly nourishing to the skin. One of the greatest ingredient contained in this foundation are antioxidants derived from green tea and vitamins C, which synergistically work together in healing blemishes, fading and brightening hyper- pigmentations, as well as increasing our skins' collagen to looking more radiant and youthful. The formula is extremely weightless and truly, and I mean truly, oil-free! It does offer a medium to full coverage and is buildable without altering the integrity of looking natural, like your skin. The shade selections are vast. I was very pleased to find a perfect match despite how difficult it can be to find my right shade. For guys like me who have extremely oily skin, our oils tend to eat up our makeup within a couple hours. Another reason why I am in love with this foundation is how long wear and transfer free this foundation is! My face did not one bit feel oily or heavy throughout the day. The foundation will wear flawlessly from the time you have applied until the time you remove. Wearing this foundation made me feel confident about my skin knowing that it is not damaging; moreover, beneficial. After washing the foundation off I noticed my pores have reduced in size, my skin looked even toned, and luminescent. Wow! Thank you UD! So go out there GUYS and girls and give this foundation a drive. I highly recommend this foundation for everyone, ESPECIALLY if you're looking for a holy grail foundation that makes you looking like a celebrity while simultaneously treating your skin and its imperfections! August 7, 2012I love this... and I don't. It's worth mentioning that I have mild-to-moderate acne (medication-induced) and this foundation doesn't make it any worse. Which is one of the main reasons I'm trying to make this work, as most liquid foundations flare me ridiculously. As far as covering my acne goes, it does a pretty good job. The coverage is medium to almost-but-not-quite-full. It evens out any ruddiness, and never feels heavy or thick on my skin when I have to build additional layers. I still need concealer for my darker scars. I use this foundation with UD's Optical Blurring Brush, which I highly recommend. It really blends this foundation beautifully. I had a heck of a time matching this to myself. It turns out that there is no spot-on color for me, just one workable one. 1.0 is too light, but is delightfully neutral. 2.0 is also too light, but is the closest it gets for me. 3.0 is orange. When blended out, 3.0 isn't too bad, but there is definitely an orange undertone there. My advice is to hit up a store for samples, and try it out at home for yourself. So... let's talk about 2.0. It's fairly neutral, a teensy bit yellow. Most of all, it's just a bit too light for my skintone. I really wish there were a 2.5 option, but that would likely be too pink for me anyway. :( How I make it work: I top it off with Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup in Illusion. It color-corrects it for me, and color-wise I'm good to go (also helps add a little extra coverage when I need it). Unfortunately, I still need to use a setting powder, because it just isn't enough. The Naked Skin just really wants to melt off my face after about 4 hours. I feel like I really have to work for this foundation. I have to start off with the De-Slick mist, then the obligatory primer, concealer, then put on Naked Skin, pat on the Surreal Skin powder, dust on setting powder, and then mist with De-Slick again. I'm not even counting my sun block or moisturizer or any other skincare stuff my skin might need that day. Some days I'm able to lock it down really well, other days not so much. But you know what? My skin gets actual compliments now. And that's why I keep trying to make it work. Despite all the layers of stuff on my face, my skin looks like skin. My skin, only better. But heaven help me if I try to put sunblock in the mix. I tried this foundation with their "Beauty Balm" in place of my primer, and the results were disastrous; a clumpy, waxy mess. Besides, I don't like chemical sunscreens. Hopefully, I will find a sunblock that meshes well with this soon. If they could find a way to make Naked Skin a little less melt-y, I'd consider it a 5-star product. As it stands, it gets a 4. March 8, 2013My HG every day foundation! Comparable to BB creams I am going to start this review by saying what my skin type is and what products I have tried, because I know many people look for that in a review. I wear shade 1.0 and my skin is combination/oily in the T-zone, sensitive, acne-prone, and drier in the winter months. The number of foundations and BB creams I've tried is...to say the least impressive, so I will shorten the list to foundations that I feel is comparable to this foundation. What I look for in a foundation is light/medium coverage that can cover my acne scars and any redness I may have, is paraben free, and can last at least 8 hours. The foundations I've tried to match my ideals include: Tarte amazonian clay foundation, Diorskin Nude, Lancome Teint Miracle, YSL Teint Touche Eclat, Hourglass Immaculate, and Guerlain lingerie de peau. I have not tried Chanel, MUFE, Bobbi Brown, or MAC foundations because I've read enough reviews to avoid them or they don't match my preferences. Now, to sum up my comparison of the Naked foundation to all these, Naked skin beats out all of them in terms of consistency, coverage, finish, lasting power, formula, and value. The coverage is just enough to cover any minor imperfections, and I love that I can build it up to cover any hyperpigmentation/acne scars. I prefer this foundation especially over the other ones because it doesn't feel heavy or cakey like the other foundations (it is lighter at least, than all of them) and it contains vitamins that are good for your skin! The colour is also a pretty close match to my skin colour, which I have an issue with for YSL Touche Eclat, Guerlain lingerie de peau, and Hourglass Immaculate. In addition to NO parabens, which many of the ones I've listed above do have, Naked Skin lasts me all day (8-12 hours) and I don't need to do any touch-ups if I set it with a powder. My skin always looks naturally flawless and I don't have to worry about it melting off my face all day. However, I have not tried it in very humid hot weather, so it may be a bit early to tell. My ultimate HG is DiorSkin Nude just because of the colour, dewy/glowy finish, and coverage, but I don't wear it every day because it is a bit thicker and contains parabens. Thus, Naked Skin is a perfect complement to my DiorSkin foundation for every day. My only issue with this foundation is that I wish the colour 0.5 was less yellow. 1.0 is nice, but I wish they would make a 0.75 or something with a pinkier undertone, like my Dior Nudeskin in 010. If the foundation gave off a nicer dewy finish I'd also be a lot happier with it, but again, can't be perfect. Also note that this foundation does not contain any SPF, but I can always wear my own, so it's not a big deal. Overall, fantastic product and highly recommend! It is very comparable to YSL's Teint Touche Eclat foundation however, the lasting power is a lot better, consistency is lighter, and the price is better too!
