Currently the UD Counter Manager at Macy’s in Las Vegas’ Fashion Show mall, Jackee Breta has made major strides since beginning at Urban Decay seven years ago. So much so that L’Oréal recognized her hard work with the L’Oréal Luxe Excellence in Luxury Service Award.
We got a little time with this talented MUA and award-winner to find out a little more about her beauty story.
Q - How did you get into the beauty industry?
I’ve always held an interest in color! Interior design was my focus after high school, but when I started to use paint and color, my passion for makeup began to grow!
Q - What was your path to get where you are today with Urban Decay?
It has almost been seven years with Urban Decay. I started as a part-time beauty artist at Valley Fair Mall, and I was motivated to become more full time. Never did I imagine I’d want to grow in the direction of management, but as the years passed, growth was all around me. I needed a change, so I moved to Las Vegas and had the opportunity to transfer and become a part of a brand-new team at the Urban Decay counter that had just become a core account. I knew this would be a great opportunity to showcase all that I’ve learned from my prior teams and mentors by taking on a leadership role and settling into a Counter Manager position. And now, I’d like to someday grow more Urban Decay accounts in Las Vegas.
Q - What do you love about makeup?
Makeup is a lifesaver and a face changer! I love the art part of it; there are so many different ways to express your moods and creativity.
Q - What do you love about working at Urban Decay?
Urban Decay is a people-work-for-people kind of brand. I love how mentors really invest in how to work with you. Communication is key, and I’ve truly appreciated how much I’ve learned from them through the years, professionally and personally. The makeup, on the other hand, speaks for itself.
Q - What are your top three Urban Decay products and why?
1. All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray is my must! It’s full coverage in a lightweight way!
2. Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It’s a staple for every eye regimen—it protects my shadow from fallout and keeps my liners from transferring.
3. Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid in Peach. It’s my instant eye wake-me-up! I’m a brand-new mommy and need everything to bring light to tired eyes!
