24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil

Out of stock
Looking for the perfect liner to complement the ever-popular UD smoky eye? This is it: an ultra-velvety, PLUSH version of our legendary 24/7 Eye Pencil. 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil is the ultimate tool for smudging. And it has the same long-lasting benefits as our 24/7 Eye Pencils.

More powdery than our original 24/7 Eye Pencils, 24/7 Velvet blends easier to create soft, smoky edges. Use this pencil to get perfectly blended-out or rich, defined lines. 24/7 Velvet is the ultimate liner for doing a smoky, rimmed eye (or whenever you want a look that’s more matte and soft).

24/7 Velvet contains moisturizing jojoba oil. And it’s paraben-free.

To make 24/7 Velvet easier to spot in your bag, we gave it a shade-matched barrel and matte gunmetal accents on the cap and base (instead of silver accents like our traditional 24/7 Pencils).

Urban Decay is 100% cruelty-free.

Fill Weight: 1.2 g / 0.04 oz
Dimethicone, Isododecane, Silica, Sucrose Tetrastearate Triacetate, Synthetic Wax, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Polybutene, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Isoceteth-10. May Contain: CI 77499 (Iron Oxides).
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Favorite Love this eyeliner! The black is somehow more sooty and more matte than the regular 24/7 liners. I'm not mad that it only comes in black, because this sexy, smoky formula is really meant to be smudged and sexy as only black can be. I got a small pencil in my Ipsy bag, but when that runs out I will for sure buy another one. I absolutely love it! BTW, my fave way to use it is to line and then follow with a small smudging brush to smoke it out. It's also a great way to add a hint of color--dip the brush in shadow and then work it over and into the liner. It'll be a sexy dark eye with a hint of color.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing Product I got a travel-sized free sample of the Black Velvet color with another purchase and I was so excited. Smoky eyeliner, yes please! Sadly it was nowhere near as good as I'd expected, the center was so dry that it was nearly impossible to get a reliable amount of pigment on my skin. The major problem I had was how inconsistent it was - sometimes I could get a half-decent line, and sometimes it was just a shower of dilute gray. It was so dry that using it hurt my eye after a while. The idea behind it is really great and the colors look so nice, but the formula was just a huge miss for me. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, the 24/7 eyeliners are so much better and worth your time and money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Third time not so much a charm. I received from Ipsy bag the 24/7 Velvet pencil in Plushie. Great color, went in very smooth and smudged well when needed. I did find this producr hard to sharpen. Finally, I tried the product three times and something in it irritates my eyes by the next morning. I was hoping the first time it was just me but I gave it 2 more chances and still the same affect. I washed my face and the eyeliner off my eyes and by the middle of the night they were gooey, crusty and tearing up each time I used it. I have never had a reaction to any eye make up before so I found this very unusual. Overall kind of bummed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product...when on sale. I'm not good with makeup, so I'm not really able to blend this (the few times I bothered to try). But I didn't buy it to blend, I bought the eye pencil in the shade of Plushie, and I use to on my upper eyelid when I don't feel like messing with eyeshadow or eyeliner ( though I have used it with both those). just a quick easy way to add a line of color when i'm in a hurry. It gives really good coverage (though if I try to blend it, I just wipe it off) and has good staying power like all of UD products. I like it, but I'd never pay more than $10 for it...even at $10, when I have to sharpen the pencil, I cringe at the slightest loss of product. It's a good product, worth a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Black Velvet! I was so excited to receive a travel sized Black Velvet with my purchase a while back! I'm running out of Zero, so I thought that I was lucky to receive this as a replacement. I was soooo lucky! This pencil is so creamy and smooth, and in my opinion, better than the other black liners! I love smudging my eyeliner when I'm in a rush in the morning so I don't have to worry about perfect, straight, even lines and such. This pencil is PERFECT for smudging! I noticed that Zero had a little trouble and I had to help it out by using more product, but with Black Velvet, you only need one line and that's it! I'm definitely purchasing this in a full size when I run out because it's perfect for my preferences. If you're a smokey eye kinda girl- you will fall in love with Black Velvet! Just do yourself a favor and buy it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flake City I had the Zero shade from UD, but it's down to the nub, so I was pretty pumped about getting this new black one. And, like others have said, maybe mine was just from a bad batch, but I will never know, because I will be going back to the Zero pencil or purchasing from another brand. This Black Velvet one did have a nice, rich, black pigment to it. However, it would flake off onto my face (under my eyes, cheeks, etc.) immediately after applying and all throughout the day. When I say immediately, I do mean this would happen prior to me applying mascara!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not on par with UD's quality I received this as a sample through my ipsy bag, and was extremely excited to try out the new UD product. However, I would say the product isn't quite as smooth or velvety as advertised. The tip of the pencil broke off as I was lining my eyes for a smokey eye look. I also own UD's Perversion Pencil, which I love, so naturally I am comparing the two products with each other. I found this pencil to be chalkier and not quite as black as Perversion. I would recommend purchase the Perversion over this if you are looking for a smooth and blackest black eye pencil.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for smokey eyes!! I recieved this as a sample with an order, and I honestly wasn't that excited about trying it. I have the 24/7 pencil in Perversion and Zero, why did I need another black pencil? Then I tried it. Oh my gosh. Velvet is the perfect name for it. It doesn't have that super dense blackness that Perversion has, but it's definitely black. You glide it on, and instant hot smokiness. Like all UD pencils, it's so versatile for a casual look or for a super sultry look. You get that perfect smudgy look without worrying about it smearing too far. I forgot to take off my makeup the other night (oops!!) and it still held that perfect smudge when I woke up. As a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, black liners can be hard and sometimes Perversion can be too much. This one is definitely black, but it's not harsh at all. Writing this review is just making me want to go redo my makeup just so I can use this pencil again and be amazed by its perfect instant smokiness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the best UD liner So I bought Lure and Cult yesterday because I saw how good they looked on Temptalia's website (and I've been craving a nice green, UD please make more green eye makeup!). Anyway, I tried to wear Cult on my lid and it's definitely a much dryer formula. I tried applying more than one stroke but it began clumping. I think the colors are really nice and hopefully Lure gives me better luck, but to those who keep thinking they've gotten a bad batch, I'm pretty sure it's just a dry formula :/ They seem to work better on the waterline instead of trying to do a cat eye.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Rich Color But Too Dry I was happy to see that Ipsy included this in my sample bag. I never tried Urban Decay products before so I was eager to try this new eyeliner. I got the Black Velvet color. I liked how smooth and rich the lines were after applying the liner to my right eye first. During application to my other eye, the tip of the pencil crumbled off, and I had to use my sharpener to get another point. After this it seemed liked the liner was too dry, and I had to really press down on my eye lid to get it to stick. I heard that using a lighter to heat the tip will soften the liner. This did help a bit and I was able to finish. So I wasn't too impressed by this product, and I think that I will not be purchasing the full-size version. I do want to try other Urban Decay eye liners, though. I have heard that the Perversion liner is wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great black liner This black liner is great. I got a sample of it with a recent purchase. I probably wouldn't have bought it since I already have perversion but I'm glad I sampled it. They are a very close comparison. This one is as black as perversion and slightly creamier and easier to smudge on as a base underneath a smokey eye look. It is also amazing for tight lining. I would definately add this to your black pencil arsenal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stick to the Regular 24/7 I needed to replace a purple and a brown eyeliner and went with this line since Lush and Plushie were on sale. I wish I'd stuck with the regular 24/7 line. While these do stay on all day and have excellent pigmentation like the regular 24/7, the other users' comments about this Velvet line being more dry and flaky are spot on. They don't blend nearly as easily as the regular 24/7. And another user mentioned that she woke up with gooey, red eyes the morning after. This also occurred at least twice with me, and I've never had any problems in my many years using various UD products with eye irritation. This is a definitely skip; don't ruin your eyes or your good feelings about UD eyeliners by using this Velvet line. Stick to the regular 24/7.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flakes everywhere! I *love* the 24/7 eye pencil, so I figured I'd give the velvet a try. This is the absolute worst eyeliner I've ever tried to use! It literally flaked off as soon as it was applied and got a lot of specs IN MY EYES! I already wear contacts so the added irritant did not help. At first I thought it was my mascara but I tried the pencil and then another brand of mascara and the same thing happened. I have never had this happen with the regular 24/7 pencil and I will definitely be sticking to that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dry and Flaky I was very excited to try Black Velvet, because I've been searching for a super pigmented black, and I can't use Perversion. (I wear contacts and its formula is too oily; it gets in my eyes and all over my contacts.) The color of Black Velvet is beautiful, exactly what I hoped for... unfortunately, the formula is so dry it FLAKES OFF. As in, all under my eyes (not even later, but AS I'M APPLYING IT), causing major raccoon eye. Here's hoping they'll fix this, because otherwise, it was exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Breaks Out My Eyes I tried out the purple shade in the velvet eye liner collection, and every single time I have worn it, I end up getting an allergic reaction. I've tried it out four times now. As far as the other colors go, i'm not sure how well they would work, but I am a little bummed out about this color in particular. It felt really strange when applied to my waterline, it didn't feel like a normal eye liner pencil, and it required a bit of touching up right after being put on. The color wasn't as bright and eye popping as I expected it to be in the purple shade, it was very dull and didn't look good against my skin. But then again, everyone's skin is different. It may look really good on others. I would still recommend it for people who want to try it, it can never hurt to try!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from major disappointment I only use Urban Decay 24/7 liners because I think they're the best pencil, hands down. I was excited to try the new Black Velvet pencil, but it was not anything like my other 24/7 pencils. I love the color but the formula is awful. The pencil is so dry, making it hard to apply. And after Ii finished my makeup, I noticed that the eyeliner had FLAKED OFF, leaving big gaps without liner on my lash line! I've never seen a UD pencil do that. Terrible liner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I really wanted to give this product rave reviews I love everything about this pencil. The color is fabulous and the silky smooth glide on feel is amazing and long lasting. I love everything about it except for the problem when it comes to sharpening. I am a graphic artist and let me tell you, I have just about every kind of sharpener you can have and I'll be damned if I can't get this pencil sharp without breaking off the tip. It doesn't matter how gentle I am, it breaks every time and I wind up with a dull, smudgy tip that SUCKS to put on. Love the factory tip outta the box but after that, for the price of this pencil I have to say, its a complete waste. Please improve it or offer a sharpener that works! I would buy it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unable to sharpen pencil. Looking at this, I thought it was an internal twist sharpener. It feels like the outside is made of plastic, and that's what my good sharpener thinks as well. My sharpener that sharpens every other pencil easily, quickly, and cleanly will only slowly carve into this pencil. I stopped before I ruined my sharpener. Turns out you need their special sharpener. I am not placing another order for a single sharpener, so I will be returning. What a shame, because I do like the color and softness of this pencil.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very very crumbly my very first UD product I had high hopes. I am on an endless hunt for the perfect eyeliner I thought I'd found it but alas no I hadn't. love the colour pigment, it's very soft but HOLY its crumbly and big chunks that crumble off and get into my eyes - which I do not like at all If anyone has a tip on how to use this product so I don't get big chunks of product in my sensitive eyes I would love to hear about it - otherwise it's another eyeliner I can't use

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I MUST HAVE gotten a bad batch of this pencil because... I got this as a freebie in my last UD order and I swatched it on the back of my hand and it was SUPER SOFT AND VELVETY so I was very happy but the second I started to use it on my eye, it was SO DRY, it would NOT get on my eye, it was very, VERY difficult to use and the tip broke on me in that very first try from how hard I had to use it in order to get any product on my eye :( It actually hurt after a while. I had to do the fire trick (getting a lighter and setting the tip on fire to soften the product) in order to get ANY product on my eye... And it took a few seconds to dry up again. I don't know why it swatched beautifully on my hand and not on my eye, but again, this pencil was more painful than anything. So, I disliked it, but maybe it was just that I got a bad batch because I've always LOVED UD products!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrid product I received this as a sample and was excited to try it. Absolutely hate this product. Dry, flaky, comes off as soon as applied. I was bummed because I love UD eyeliners!!! I am so glad I didn't buy it and wished I could return the sample.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for a smokey cat eye This liner definitely took some getting used to, upon first use, it was dry and hard to blend. After sharpening it a few times, it lives up to the name, very soft and velvety. Blending out the product also took getting used, if you wait too long to blend, the product will flake and blend I'm patches, if you blend immediately after application, you will have a soft, smokey, blended line. Once the liner sets in place you will not have to worry about it budging throughout the day. Great product for it's purpose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from PLUSHIE ALL THE WAY I've always loved pairing a purple liner on my lower lash line with a darker color on top since it makes my brown eyes looks AMAZING. I've just struggled to find one that doesn't make me look really or smear or smudge or look cartoonish. This eyeliner is the first one I've ever encountered that doesn't take forever to put on (looking at you gel eyeliner) and stays a sweet velvety shade. I love the way it makes my eyes pop. The black shade is super versatile as while. Definitely getting another one of each.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not UD quality Let me start by saying I absolutely love UD products! I have purchased endless amounts of Naked palettes as well as other products. I received a sample of this liner in black velvet in my ipsy bag and was so excited to try it out. After using the sample I did purchase a full size liner... That's when I started to become frustrated! The liner would crumble while using it, I had to sharpen after every use (if I didn't have to sharpen during the same use), which I haven't had to do with any other liners. Then, after a day of work if I needed to freshen up my liner before dinner or going out.. YOU CANT! It will not glide over the original liner, it starts causing chunks of the liner to come off so you end up with polka dot black liner. I will not be purchasing this again! Don't waste your money!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Urban Decay eyeliner I've owned, sorry I received this as a sample and was not happy with it. I'm a long time Perversion and Zero user and was excited for another UD black eyeliner. It was very disappointing. It's very, very dry and was difficult to apply. After multiple applications across my eyelids (I needed to keep applying another line as it was so dry), it still wasn't giving me a full line. It was just a broken up black line that looked like a dotted line when it was supposed to be a straight line. The dryness left a lot of debris on my cheek below my eye as well so much that I had to redo the make up under my eye. The eyeliner looked so messy that I had to remove it to wear it out of the house for the day and put on the original Perversion eyeliner instead. As a trial, I put this new Velvet eyeliner on 1 eye and the original Perversion on the other eye. This isn't as dark of a black as the original Perversion. Even the Zero is a darker black than this new Velvet one. And it was difficult to remove. It reminded me of trying to remove a liquid liner that takes forever and a day to get off and comes off in clumps. I was hoping this would be an awesome product but it's not. I've never disliked an Urban Decay product before but I guess there's first time for everything. This just isn't the usual excellent quality UD product that I'm used to. I'd pass on this or if you are really that curious, check it out in a store first. I'd be really upset if I paid full price and got a product with this stinky quality. I'd stick with the original 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Perversion instead if you are looking for a very dark matte black, otherwise I'd go with the 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, blendable liner with great staying power. I received a sample of this Black Velvet eyeliner with my order from Urban Decay.com last month. I really like it! I most likely never would have tried it without the free sample because I love their Perversion liner. This Black Velvet is great for a smokey, smudgey eye look. I've been using it everyday and I'll definitely be repurchasing it when I run out!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New Formula?? I received "Plushie" as a sample. Twenty minutes after applying it to my waterline I felt like my eyeballs were going to fall out of my head they hurt so badly - and I NEVER have reactions to eyeliner. On my top lash line it's not so bad, but I don't want to risk using this pencil ever again. Not sure what (or why) Urban Decay needed to create a "velvet" eye pencil, when they already have six different types of eye liners! At any rate, I'm done with Urban Decay liners altogether.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not My favorite I love UD liners and use them exclusively. I was so excited to try the Velvet formulation. I have to say, it was a disappointment. The formula is very dry and crumbly. Throughout the day I would find little crumbles of liner on my cheeks and smears under my eyes. These issues NEVER occur with any other formulation of UD liner. The application was not smooth either, there was a good deal of tugging and pulling. I would not buy another velvet liner, even if they were on sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, But Would Only Get On Sale I thought this eye liner applied very well. I got the brown and the purple shade because they were on sale at Ulta and I haven't tried them both yet but the black that I tried went on very smooth and seemed to last a long time, longer than some other eyeliners I have tried. However, I personally would not pay full price for one of their eyeliners because $20 for eyeliner is kind of expensive for me personally, so while it worked great, I would only get it if it was on sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this eyeliner! I love how soft and pigmented these eyeliners are and how they really do 'glide' on just as the name suggests. I love how sleek and matte the packaging is and it does last a very long time. My only complaints are that it's kinda hard to sharpen unless you have a bomb sharpener. Also it does set very fast and gets a little hard and that can be irritating, especially because it flakes off a bit as well. But as long as you don't glob it on and you smudge quickly before it sets it is totally worth giving it a shot because as I said before, creamy and super pigmented also!
