Adulting is hard, but looking the part doesn't have to be. If you master these five makeup tricks, you’ll pull off the appearance of “having it all together” whether it’s true at the moment or not.
1 - COVERING A ZIT
Adult acne happens. Your skin doesn’t care if you’re a teenager or in your 20s and beyond. While we feel you, we’re even better at covering you. Start with a clean, dry face, then dab the blemish with a little bit of Naked Skin Concealer using the UD Pro Detailed Concealer Brush. Apply powder foundation on top using a fluffy brush, like the UD Pro Large Tapered Powder Brush.
2 - WARDING OFF SUN DAMAGE
Remember your mom teaching (ahem, nagging) you about putting on sunscreen? She was 100% spot-on. Luckily, you can now nix that goopy, messy stuff you’d find at your local supermarket, and instead opt for a sunscreen that also doubles as a primer: Urban Defense Complexion Primer. SPF 30 guards against the sun, and our weightless, invisible-on-the-skin formula doesn’t leave a trace.
3 - KEEPING YOUR MAKEUP IN PLACE
Nothing says “I have my s*%t together” like your makeup staying exactly where it should (and not melting off your face). Start with any of our primers (Optical Illusion Complexion Primer is one of our go-tos) to help your makeup go on better, then apply your makeup. Finish off your look with All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray—with this high-tech formula, your makeup won’t go anywhere.
4 - LOOKING AWAKE (EVEN IF YOU AREN’T)
Long night? Rough morning? From redness to dark circles, Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid will target your worst transgressions (with six shades to choose from). Check out our handy guide for all the in-depth details and tutorials.
5 - MANAGING YOUR GLOW
Whether you’re into dewy skin or your go-to is matte, you should know how to execute both complexion looks. For fresh, dewy skin, apply Naked Skin Liquid Makeup, then use Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid to highlight the areas on your face where light would normally hit (cheekbone, bridge of nose, etc.). For a sexy, matte complexion, add a hit of The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-In Medium to Naked Skin Liquid Makeup before applying.
