Eyeshadow was the third product we ever launched. Lip and nail shades came first, and Eyeshadow hit the line a year later—but it’s never taken a back seat. Eyeshadow was (and always has been) Wende’s passion project. After 20 years, we’re getting a little nostalgic for the early days. That’s why we created UD XX Vintage Eyeshadow—a throwback to our first Eyeshadow collection from 1997, which consisted of 19 shades that were WAY ahead of their time. While six of those original shades are still in our collection today, others have disappeared over the years. Now they’re back in one ultra-exclusive collection! Get the cult-favorite colors you know and love in our bestselling, intensely pigmented formula.

We’re talking old-school favorites like Gash (metallic brick red), Roadstripe (a shifty iridescent white), UV-B (vibrant blue with a violet shift) and Acid Rain (pale yellow-green pearl with a slight gold shift). These shades will only be back for a limited time, and they’re bound to sell out fast—so don’t wait until it’s too late.

All of our UD XX Vintage Eyeshadow shades feature our proprietary Pigment Infusion System™—for rich, velvety, blendable color that lasts.

Plus, each shade comes in our modern subway token compact. The chromed case not only looks cool, but also features our versatile, pop-out design. Just pop the shades in and out of their compacts and into our Stackable Pro Artistry Palette to create your own custom collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and vibrant colors I purchased the shades in Pallor, Rust and Frostbite and I loved all 3 of them. Pallor is a soft, shimmery blue/gray purple that is very unique. It's a pale color and can definitely be used for a subtle daytime look. Rust is a brighter shimmery yellow/orange that I think is the color of sunshine. It works well as a brightener in the corners of the eyes, but it also is nice as a summery daytime shade. Neither Pallor or Rust had any fallout, and both were buttery, smooth and blended very easily. Frostbite is a beautiful sparkly dark blue with a hint of purple and multi-color sparkle and is much prettier than it looks on the computer screen. i used it wet as eyeliner and it was absolutely stunning. It blends very easily and was still smooth to apply despite the chunkier glitter. It does have some fallout because of the glitter, so take precautions when using this shade. All 3 are stunning and easy to use and I highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ultimate Emo Shadow! This is the exact shade Gerard Way used during the “Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge” era. If you wanna nail that look, this is it! It’s perfection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gash needs to stay! I love red eyeshadow, and finding a good one is so difficult! Gash is my go to now that UD has given it back to me. I pair it with Lounge and it is perfection! PLEASE UD, let Gash stay!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please make Gash permanent! I love the way Gash blends out to a reddish bronze with the slightest shimmer. It is gorgeous and my favorite UD shadow color of all time and one of the most iconic thanks to Gerard of MCR! It is very wearable over a warmer medium brown transition shade, but can also be full-on edgy goth or emo with black. I love the vintage shadows, lipsticks, and polishes most of all and would love to see them stay in the UD lineup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vapor - A girl's secret weapon for sexy eyes! Vapor is by far my favorite shade...why? It's simple, it's my secret weapon. I can a smudge of it lightly on the inside corners of each eye and a tiny bit across my upper eyelid, just under my brow for a look that gets people's attention, and adds a little sexiness to my eyes. Not to mention, it helps me look more "awake". Pigment is great, and it lasts all day, even after working 7 hours. Size is nice too. I'm 45, but still wear makeup and this shadow is my best friend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gash needs to be permanent! In honor of My Chemical Romance coming back, Gash needs to either become permanent or have a special release! It’s a truly unique color and I haven’t see a red/copper like this before!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet vintage! When it comes to eyeshadows Urban Decay is no doubt the eye shadow Queen! A few months ago I purchased Vapor which is a true silver eyeshadow! I also purchased Roadstrip which is gorgeous! On the eye it is this beautiful soft shimmery lavender and would be beautiful layered over other matte eyeshadow as well! The third Shadow I purchased was Plague, I also purchased the vintage lipstick and nail polish to match! It looks dark blue in the pan but on the eye it is a beautiful dark blue with a purple shift! I'm back today to buy Gash!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Vintage Eyeshadow I was in high school in the '90s but living in a small town, I could only covet the Urban Decay cosmetics I saw in Seventeen magazine from afar because there was no place to buy them. So I was beyond stoked when these Vintage shadows were re-issued because I missed out on them the first time and I hurried to order about six of them. Unfortunately, the bright rich colors in the pan don't necessarily translate to the eyelid, especially for Plague and Rust, and they're missing the buttery texture and insane color payoff that I've come to expect from UD shadows. All isn't lost--if you use a damp brush to apply them they work a lot better, but I'm a bit disappointed. I think it's fun that the '90s are back, but like baggy flannel, the formula on these should have stayed in the '90s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GASH I bought the shade ' Gash'. Let me start by saying this is the first high end makeup product and maybe first makeup product I have ever bought. Generally I do not wear makeup. Like someone has mentioned, the eyeshadow 'Gash' is the same shade that Gerard Way of My Chem wore during the 'Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge' era. Since then, I always thought that red eyeshadow was the coolest thing imaginable. I am very pleased with this shadow. It is not very highly pigmented but in fact I find that to be nice because it is very buildable and this allows you to create, true to name, a sort of "gash"-like effect that looks totally gnarly- strikingly similar to a bruise or burn. Awesome, badass, and multifaceted color. Two sprays of the All-Nighter make up spray I was graciously given as a sample by UD makes it stick like glue. The packaging is just to die for, really drives home that this is a quality product. Shipping was lightning fast, and I don't think I've ever seen an order processed that fast in my life. Dear Urban Decay, count me hooked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UD Gash : freaky <3 I was looking for a pure, blood red, and thought I'd give something named after an open wound a try! I got it, put it on, and while it's nowhere near what I was looking for, I do love it. It's an unsettling, color-shifting blend of both cool and warm reds, very worthy of its name. By itself it looks scary (a plus for me depending on my mood), but can easily be turned into a relatively work-friendly shade by blending a bit of soft black along the outer edges of the lid and crease.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wayyyyyyy too shimmery/glittery and color descriptions are way off.... Wayyyy too shimmery and glittery.....the descriptions for the colors are way off than reality. The description of the colors that say they are not shimmery or glittery are not accurate at all because they are extremely shimmery. Also, the shimmer:glitter doesn't stay on your eyelids, it drops down and gets all over your face. Your shimmery/glittery face walks in the room before you do. It's not a good look at all.....they are all going back! There are too many of the same colors and there needs to be more matte colors instead of focusing on shimmer and glitter 99% of the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gashingly Great Color The color Gash was described online as a brick red. I like bright & random colors. I have been waiting to get this color & finally the contemplation was over. When I received it I immediately opened it to see it looks somewhat pink, but I decided to try it out anyhow & used it with my full spectrum palette. OMJ its Wow factor was amazing, it was definitely a shimmery brick red! I wish I could attach a pic of how my makeup looked (i do not have any soical media lol). I love it! And now have my eye on frostbite;) Thanks UD

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THEYRE BACK!!! I'm so glad these colours are back, i truly hope that they're permanent as i want to be able to grab pretty much all of them. Gash and rust are my favorites so far with Pallor and Frostbite being a close second. the pigmentation is fantastic & reminiscent of the old school formula (which i still have a few of) very glad to see these colours return and i hope they stay for awhile

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RoadStrip-like I remember! I can't quite recall if it was under the same name, but I remember the hue well. My best friend's older sister had this shadow and let us use it–it was my first experience with Urban Decay and I'm so pleased to that I was able to purchase this. This shade has a strong blue shift and I like to use it in the inner corner of my eyes or in the center of my lid as a highlight. It's very pretty and can be worn with a lot of other shades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GASH FOREVER I love red eyeshadows. As a non-binary person, I find that I need to rock a lot of alternate looks to convey my genderless-ness. Gash from the UD XX Vintage Eyeshadow delivers. It's got high-pigment and powerful stay (as long as I use a primer!) I also love that brick red, metallic look and admittedly, it makes me feel like a punk-rock lead singer for a day, which full fills all my high school dreams. I will note that Gash is not a true red (I have yet to find a UD true red), but the brick red look is still awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad to see my old faves return :) I remember searching far and wide in the 90s for a store that stocked UD products- the closest one was a four hour drive away! Buying UD products was an adventure, especially with gross-out names like mildew, roach, and gash. I love that these shades are back, but in a superior formula. The color is basically the same as the originals, but the texture is so much softer and more blend-able. Great color payoff. I ordered acid rain, but I think I'll be back for a few more. Recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the pigment I jumped for joy when I found out they brought back these 90s colors. I immediately ordered Chains since that was my fave shadow back in the day. I am so happy with the product. The pigmentation is great and it blends well. I just wish it came with the old packaging. All in all I'll have to make sure to stock up before they are gone again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the sheen I bought Roadstripe and Vapor, I love love love the effect of the purple blue sheen Roadstripe gives every eye look I do, Vapor is a nice light silver and I am thinking of trying it as a highlighter for an ice queen look. The thing that annoys me about Roadstripe is to get the best purple sheen I either have to layer it with other purples or apply it first and build it back up after blending, but I love the color and the way it looks enough the work is worth it. Vapor is a bit dusty so tap the brush or risk lots of fallout.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plague is a gorgeous color, leaves a little to be desired I purchased this in the shade Plague, I wasn't around for the first launch of this color (Urban was launched the year I was born!) I thought it looked gorgeous. It looks really great, especially with Gash in the crease. This shadow is buttery and blendable, but the duo chrome shift isn't very noticeable to me like it is in some of the other duochromes I have from Urban Decay, like Fireball, Backfire and Asphyxia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great "Go to" Eyeshadow, Always a Fabulous Investment I really do love the individual color options that UD has. They are great for a create your own combo option. I bought Plague, & I use it all the time, other than the office. The colors are a little too wild for a professional setting. It is HIGHLY pigmented, with minimal crumbing. I couple it with the anti aging primer potion & the smoky palette. I am very satisfied with the product & will reorder. My only complaint is that it is a small container, for the price I feel like I should get a little more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blast from the past What a nice surprise! I haven't seen these particular colors in so long, but they brought back such strong memories, especially Gash, Plague, Pallor and Roadstripe. It was a pleasure to use them again now that I actually know how to put on makeup, lol! I'm having fun with them, experimenting and remembering why I fell in love with UD in the first place. I also dragged out my other old favorites too to play with, well, those I don't use all the time. I'm really happy with this collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must for Blue-Purple Lovers UV-B is one of my all-time favorite UD shadows. I'm so glad its had a resurgence lately via Vice XX, the XX vault, and now in this vintage re-release after missing from the market for a long time. UV-B is a dimensional color with excellent versatility. A light wash will impart a blue-purple duochrome, like a softer/more periwinkle Divebar (another favorite). Built-up it can reach full opacity and tends to take on aspects of surrounding colors (paired with blues, the blue will shine through. Paired with purples, the more lavender-blue aspect comes out). Works wonderfully on its own or layered over other colors (Roadstripe, Dive Bar, Vapor, Chaos, Radium, Laced, Freak show, and many more pair nicely). For me, this is a must-have shadow. I actually purchased two Vice XX palettes because I knew UV-B would be panned quickly (that entire palette is very versatile so worth it to me), have the single and eyeliner from the XX Vault, another backup single incoming from this release, the nail polish is on its way to me, and I'll be ordering the new Razor Sharp liner soon. It's a beloved color. Perfect for anyone who loves periwinkle, lavender, or any kind of purple-blue shift (when you build it up, both colors get deeper). HIGHLY recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should be in regular selection not just vintage Plague and pallor (along with empire eyeliner) are my cold weather dressy/party combo. Everyone comments on my makeup now and says how much they love UD. I use tons of your products and always get compliments and btw am 65, not your typical customer! I am gifting everyone with multiple shadow palettes for the holidays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has high quality and lasts all day! I love this Urban Decay Eyeshadow. You don't have to use it multiple times a day and just a little lasts bright and beautiful all day long. This color atands out and will aure to make heads spin and be ready for people to ask, "Where did you get that beautiful color Eyeshadow", everytime you step out of the house wearing it. Its high fashion, high quality and high value Eyeshadow and i will recommend this to anyone looking for that extra in fashion and style look anyday.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chains! xoxo I just purchased Chains and I love it! I love wearing green eyeshadow with my eye color and complexion, and this shade is unlike any other green I own! I need to get my hands on Gash next, I remember wearing it in my angsty teen years an it needs to make a come back in my adult life! Love these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous color! I've always been a fan of Urban Decay's eyeshadows, though I had mostly bought palettes in the past. Recently I decided that I want to curate my own palette of shadows and wanted an icy lavender color so I ordered Pallor. Pallor, as its name suggests, is really pretty on pale skin! It works great as a base shade but has enough pigmentation to wear on its own as well. It's a cool grayish purple (leaning a bit more gray than purple), with no pink undertones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plague is.... Beyond words... Plague is worth every single penny and then some. I am constantly disappointed by purple eyeshadows. Maybe I just have high standards because I love purple so much. However, I went out on a limb and bought this one, purely based on pictures and one review online. I have a hard time wearing more blue-based purples, but not this! It creates the most beautiful, eye-catching, flattering, statement-making, jaw-dropping, and yet somehow somewhat wearable for daytime (if you're like me anyway), purple look. When you pack it on, you get the blueish color more, but when you start blending it out in the crease, it warms up and blends out beautifully. If you aren't ghostly pale like me, you might be able to wear it by itself. I get compliments all the time when I wear this, and people asking when I'm going to wear it again because it looks so nice on me.
