Product description

Still mourning the loss of our long-ago-discontinued nail shades like Plague, Pallor and Bruise? You’re in luck. We’ve brought you UD XX Vintage Nail Color. To mark our twentieth anniversary, we’re resurrecting ALL 12 of our original shades in this exclusive collection. Part of our first-ever lineup from 1996 (which consisted solely of these 12 polishes, plus 10 lipsticks), these babies haven’t been available since the late ‘90s!

From Frostbite (deep metallic blue) to Bruise (a shifty color that changes from red to green), these are the shades you’ve BEGGED us to bring back! And unlike the originals you may have hunted down on eBay over the years, our UD XX Vintage Nail Color collection comes in our modern, revamped formula. Get your hands on the vintage colors you know and love, but with the complex shade work, super-rich pigments and dynamic micro-sparkle you’ve come to expect from us. Long-wearing and chip-resistant, our formula has a high-gloss finish that’s tough and durable, yet flexible. And each shade is 3-free—formulated without toluene, formaldehyde or DBP.

We get TONS of requests from our fans to bring back our original nail shades, so these are bound to sell out in a hot minute. Our UD XX Vintage Nail Color collection is also ultra limited-edition—so once these shades are gone, they’re gone for good! (Don’t say we didn’t warn you.)

Urban Decay is 100% cruelty-free.

Pro Tips

For the richest color, use two coats, letting polish dry in between. The first coat bonds to the nail, and the second coat fuses to the first to create a flexible polish with less chipping and longer wear. (And if you have the time, use a base and top coat!)

For added personality, try alternating shades on a single nail of each hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nostalgia and Quality for Classic UD Fans Absolutely adore these polishes! So far I've picked up Pallor (sheer opalescent lilac-lavender-gray that can be built up to semi-opaque), UV-B (my favorite UD shade of all-time makes an excellent indigo blue-purple duo with high impact. Opaque in two coats but the first will go on sheer), and Plague (gorgeous, densely pigmented and glittery inky purple). I don't mind needing more than one coat to build to opacity, but you can apply thicker coats without getting TOO thick easily as well. I've had excellent longevity from these so far. Will definitely be picking up a backup UV-B alongside a few other shades like UZI, Asphyxia, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Favorites, Better Packaging I've been a UD fan since the '90's, but the only products I didn't love back then were the nail polishes. The colors were awesome, but the tops of the bottles were so small that it was really hard to apply them! So I was thrilled to see these shades rereleased...in bottles that are easy to hold and apply! The formula is nice and smooth, and the colors are beautiful. I have too much nail polish already, so I only bought Bruise (my favorite ever). I love it! It's a weird, gorgeous color that applies smoothly, looks great and so far hasn't chipped (even without a topcoat). Highly recommend!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Product but Smaller Than You Might Think I purchased this nail polish in the shade of Bruise. I love how this color plays off on my pale skin and it lives up to it's name. The packaging is insane and very detailed complete with a mini skull on top, however, the product is smaller than I anticipated and for the price I wasn't too happy with the size. But I will say you rarely see such beautiful packaging on a nail polish so I guess that makes up for the price. For comparison I'll use O.P.I nail polish which has 15ml and is usually around $8. This product has 9ml and is $10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roach Always and Forever I am so happy that UD is putting out all these OG shades. I wasn't able to purchase these colors the first time around (lived in a really small town that didn't carry anything other than Clinique, Estee, and Lancome), so I jumped at the chance to snatch these. The first shade I decided to wear was Roach. I have been on a major pastel kick lately, and this color has broke me of that. I went back and purchased a second Roach because this is now my everyday. It's such a rich and complex brown/red, and I only needed one coat to get good color, but I added a second for more intensity. I've worn it for three days now, and NO CHIPPING. And everything chips on me. I have been typing, washing dishes, and painting and this color is still going strong. Please, please, please, make these perm and bring back more colors :) Way to go, UD!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must-Have! As soon as I saw these I knew I had to have them. I typically do my own nails with a colored French manicure, and this polish makes the look polished! I bought Uzi first, hoping it'd be the right color for the look I wanted and it didn't disappoint! The color is gorgeous, the quality couldn't be better and the style of the bottle is, cute, but edgy. Easy to apply, long lasting and absolutely affordable, which, I think we all enjoy. I have been waiting for the polishes to re-emerge and it was definitely worth the wait. I will try to get almost every color, if not all of them. Well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Uzi & Mildew A friend of mine bought these a few weeks ago and let me try them out. To start, both colors are absolutely gorgeous and I love the names. They both apply really well and are well pigmented that you only need one or two coats depending on the color and desired effect. I've been wearing Uzi now for about five days and it hasn't chipped, worn off, or dulled since applying it. Usually, by now my nail polish has worn down on the edges or had chips come off along the sides, but this one is still going strong. The only thing I didn't like about these colors is the long-ish dry time, even a thin layer took longer than I expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, beautiful shades! I purchased the vintage shades in Mildew, UV-B, Oil Slick, UZI, and Smog. So far, I've only used Smog and I have to say I'm pretty impressed by the polish. It's smooth and somewhat on the thick side- for darker colors, you'll probably only need one layer to get opacity. I used mine with a clear base & topcoat, so it was a little on the thick side and it took a long while to dry completely. I was impatient, so this resulted in some bubbles and dents in the polish...but I have yet to experience any chipping two days in. It survived the shower, which amazed me on its own. Overall, beautiful colors and quality polish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent polish I ordered Roach and Mildew. Mildew matched the eyeshadow quite well. Roach looked closer to Twice Baked to me but it still a really rich, beautiful color. The polish went on smoothly. Mildew was a bit streaky but nothing some top coat couldn't handle. My only complaint is that the brush is little to long for me, makes it a harder to control. Won't stop me from ordering more....at least if Asphyxia ever comes back in stock!
